@@ChandraSlyFoxPatey Will you have build videos of your new carbon cub? P.S. Make sure Mike does an update when Dex has the wave runner going! It's great to see the family working on projects, but I'm still waiting for Mark to put out a build video!!
Mike, always a joy to watch your videos. I'm a 25 year retired rig welder. I was fortunate enough to build part of the mold for the B-2 program and service platforms and a scissor lift that fit in the bomb bay to travel with the bomber. now build salvage cars to keep busy. while being a full time care giver to my Mom. I'm looking to build an EX3 myself and can't find many complete build videos so i got exited when your wife announced the build. Its nice to see your son gaining experience and his project looks great. Right now I'm mentoring my Nephew on welding and building engines. It is very important to pass knowledge along!
Great to see you and Chandra back home and getting into the groove again. Tell Dex that he did a beautiful job on the paint from what I could see and I am so impressed with his mechanical skills, doing a crank-up rebuild. Those skills will pay off all his life. Thanks for sharing your skills and talents with us all once more, too. Have a great week!
Thanks for vid #28 Mr. Patey I was in great need of a Scrappy fix! Keep them coming, best entertainment available. Hope you do a series of your wife’s Carbon Cub project.
Mike, aviation is still a dream for me. Retired from the Army and went to work right away to improve quality of life for my family. It’s been going well and a big part of my success has come from the motivation that watching your content gives me. Keep it coming..thanks!
Hi Mike . I am more than 8,000 miles away (in Tanzania, East Africa) and wanted to let you know that you never seize to impress me with your passion, enthusiasm & dedication with which you seem to do everything in life. Dex's learning bodywork reminded me of how I learned to do body work. When I was 17 I hung around KTOA there was a crew who owned biplanes and I would hang out. with them. One of the guys had a 1969 Jag XKE that he was restoring. On their way to the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge one of them had an engine failure and crashed in the Salinas River. He survived and the only injuries hs sustained was a broken wrist and a concussion. He had pins in his wrist so he could not do work on his Jag. Young Dean was a good listener and I basically became his own personal industrial robot. I did the body work on that XKE and learned enough that I could restore my VW Beetle. It is fun to watch you and your family.

It was nice to watch another video. You have inspired me to get into aviation, so first things first: time to go get my private license. Back to work.
I have hay on the ground to be baled. I have a broken baler that I need to repair. Mike Patey posted a Scrappy video. What hay what baler? It'll be there when I'm done. Don't wait so long Mike.
@@MikePatey I wish I could claim the title of "farmer" but I cannot. I retired as an "insurance claims investigator" moved to 12 acres and try to grow my own meat. Hence the hay. Building and working on airplanes is by far more interesting and fun. One bucket list item I had from childhood watching planes over a practice area was to earn a pilots license. I was fortunate enough to do so and build a few hours before injuring myself skiing. My life changed then. Today, I live and work because of a families courage to make a Gift of Live after losing their child. A transplanted knee gave me another chance at life, I pray I honored the gift I was made. Love what you do and how you encourage all to be and do more. I am pretty sure there zre many who watch your videos and say to themselves; "I wish I had parents like these people."
This is what I love about Mike. He comes up with an idea and does the work to create it. Not like some others who have an idea, tell a group of smart people to make it happen with millions in shareholders money, and then takes credit for it. [ like Elon for 1 example ] Mike actually does it. Love it !
So glad you had a break and it was a bonus to see your wife’s and sons projects. If you get a chance could you show how you added the potentiometer to the linear motor and the controller you use. I have a trike using the linear motor to raise and lower the mast, due to a back injury which won’t let me do it manually. I would love to have more control when raising the wing and your idea is fantastic.
Gotta say, you got a gorgeous wife a beautiful family, a dream job, a work ethic that i wish many more had. As well as a great attitude. Seems to me that you can show ppl dont have to be a d... To get the things they want in life . just hard work and a great attitude.
Imagine being this guys son/daughter and doing anything mechanical for the first time. I think we can all agree Mike is himself a machine. I would be nervous as shit. Son: Hey dad look at this waverunner I rebuilt. Dad: *standing in front of the plane he custom built left-handed while blindfolded* Thumbs up
My father baught a handsaw 30 years before I was born, and thought it was a power tool. After being deprived of power tools as a kids, I have collection I will never have a use for; but nothing like his collection.

Holly crap Mike, you are one lucky guy!
Mike's a great example of one who creates his own "luck". He's extremely fortunate.
This is what I love about Mike. He comes up with an idea and does the work to create it. Not like some others who have an idea, tell a group of smart people to make it happen with millions in shareholders money, and then takes credit for it. [ like Elon for 1 example ]
Mike actually does it. Love it !
Mike, thanks SO Much for your TH-cam video, I was going through major Mike Patey withdrawals.
Heck yes, back to work Mike!
That airplane is a beautiful piece of work thanks for the share The Best Is Yet To Come
Nice Mike! Where building one at our school hope its as much fun for your wife as it is for our class, also congratulations!
Love to see more of the Carbon Cub build and the watercraft build!
Gotta say, you got a gorgeous wife a beautiful family, a dream job, a work ethic that i wish many more had. As well as a great attitude. Seems to me that you can show ppl dont have to be a d... To get the things they want in life . just hard work and a great attitude.
Thx mike
Helps when your work is also your hobby and pleasure.
Wicked! Thanks Mike! I hope you had a good holiday and business trip!
Scrappy is coming along I can’t wait!
Imagine being this guys son/daughter and doing anything mechanical for the first time. I think we can all agree Mike is himself a machine. I would be nervous as shit.
Son: Hey dad look at this waverunner I rebuilt.
Dad: *standing in front of the plane he custom built left-handed while blindfolded* Thumbs up
imagine your dad hugging you and telling you you've done a good job. Jesus pls stop flying those planes and keep hugging your kids.
His kids have to start somewhere, it’s cool that he’s taking interest in the stuff his dad does so later down the line they can build things together.
His kid did great! Just a matter of place in life.
He'll build his own bush plane someday.
My father baught a handsaw 30 years before I was born, and thought it was a power tool.
After being deprived of power tools as a kids, I have collection I will never have a use for; but nothing like his collection.
I wish I would have been able to do things like this with my Dad. Would have loved the hug and good job son.
Mike how do you only have 174k subscribers. With the production quality and the information you cary you should have millions of subscribers. You are a inspiration to all of us who at this stage in life can only dream about aviation!!
Thank you!👍🏻😂
You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for being you. You're such an inspiration and I look forward to seeing your videos every week. I would love to find a way to come work for you but you probably don't have much use for a software engineer 🤷♂️
Great job Mike! You have designed an unreal life that is an inspiration to all who have had the opportunity to meet you even if just through your channel!
Giving birth to a Carbon Cub could be a little tough sounds like you two will need to practicing your all's breathing, visualization, and all that good stuff. 😁
Three weeks... it was a tough wait! Glad to see your progress! As always... thanks for sharing!
“If you don’t have the money or it doesn’t make sense.... for me it doesn’t make sense...” 😉 subtle flex from Mr. Patey
Missed the Scrappy videos Mike. Happy work is out of the way!
I bet the big secret Mike is waiting to spring on us at the end is that Scrappy is Stealth.
Is that why his carbon fiber is so expensive?
Congratulations on your new addition. ;-) Building, rebuilding and using cool stuff is just fun! Fun to watch, and we're learning fab tech.
So excited for Chandras carbon cub build! Awesome!!!
Mark Early Thank you, me too!! 🤗
