    I love the sound of the door frame connecting with the rest of the plane.
    No clunk, bang, bounce.
    Just click.
    And it’s not even finished.
    Sound like high quality.
    Excellent work.
    Excellent team.

    I love this guy!
    One of the things I like is that even though his videos are sporadic as for the frequency when they come out, they are full of content that us craftsman tune into for. He hasn't given into the weekly video craze that a lot of other channels have.
    He has stayed true to the craft and hasn't turned it into a homemade TV show that ultimately is all about the subscriptions and add revenue...he's got nothing to prove, and has remained original and true to the mission...build awesome stuff!

Thanks for filming (and explaining) all your builds. I have one request: please, film more close ups of the processes you describe in such delightful detail. Awesome pro tip using tape to set your "trim to" point for making composite bits... I've always done the same thing "inside out" I suppose for making parts out of aluminum, to where the tape would become a sacrificial barrier, and a movable point to file and stress relieve to. I've never thought about forming it into a piece of composite like that, especially since it's all going to get turned into dust like you said... I can't wait to see this thing out and about when it's flyable!

    25:00 The door mating surfaces should be at an angle to each other, like two 45 degree angles. With them as they are now, if you crash and the frame flexes you run the risk of the door itself getting pinched in the door opening. If they're angled and the frame flexes due to a crash the door will get pushed out of the door opening and you'll be able to escape.

    Man what a great family, all getting together and doing what they love, building airplanes! I wish I could just complete my 32hrs for my privates pilot license, just got too expensive for me, but to build and fly my own plane, what a dream that would that would be. So cool watching you though, love the videos!

    Is there going to be an integrated way to break open the non-opening window? Sod's law dictates if the fuselage ends up in a river on its side it'll be door side down. Awesome project, please don't take my comment as criticism, just thinking through scenarios.

    • @dray22222
      @dray22222 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Shouldn't be possible with the wing and strut and landing gear on the side as well. Probably a quick release hinge mechanism from the inside.

      Explosive bolts around the perimeter of the window or incorporate primacord in the widow channel?

      Multi directional seat-o eject-o with a rocket. equipped with the latest Garmin glass of course.

      I would think that just like a car, in a worst case scenario, if the fuselage begins to fill with water the pressure will equalize and you can then open the door as normal.
