If the clearance between the oil filter and subframe is really close, thats one sign the motor mounts are failed. Probably should put it on the shopping list anyway. I wish I could have gotten better/closer footage.

I have an 89 super coupe with 125000 miles. How long do these engines typically last. Mine runs good just had the clutch replaced.

Its hard to guage. I have had 2 Naturally aspirated 3.8s 1 is still running at over 300k miles. We sold it at 250. The second was wrecked at 275k. SC motors are beat on, neglected etc. My latest is a 95 5 speed. 2 plugs had never been changed. Motor is now toast. 2 dead cylinders. (120k) At about 100k, replace the HB with a BHJ. Headgaskets with arp studs and an exhaust. The cars in testing were beating up the mustangs so they were heavily restricted and it lessened the life. Hit up SCCOA.com and read up on it. Pat just migrated the site to new servers and there will be some teething pains while its finalized. Greatest source of SC info. I would say on average 80k to 125k for headgaskets. Harmonic balancers as well.

@@rodrigomascote5770 you will need a 94-95 doner. The harmonic balancer is why. Also recomend replacing with a bhj. No others will work or last. For tuning I use a Quarter Horse with Binary Editor. The 94-95 have the largest injectors and 2nd gen eaton m90. You will have to adjust for the larger injectors, a larger maf. I would even look into the Stinger MS2 stand alone ecu.
