      This was the first real (and only) video I've been done where I narrated it and edited it, I was having this issue with a car I owned and couldn't find help anywhere, so once I figured out the problem I wanted to be able to help others with this issue... Seems to be the case so that makes me pretty happy! :)

    The little arms actually have individual wires that touch the slide plate I think there are 4 AM and each one of those 4 has like 6 wires little 80 beauty wires that touch the slide plates I took it apart bet it up bent the wires down a little more because they start to fall off and it'll get you by. An The hose that you talk about is is actually what messed up my throttle body it burst right underneath that throttle body it's like $27 at o'reilly's for that hose and it's super easy to change

    Will that issue throw any codes? I have a 2017 that has power loss at random times. Going to try and clean the AMS first

    Ok could a P0299 (turbo underboost) code be this issue even though the code explains that it’s a turbo. Please keep in mind that I’ve replaced the turbo 3 times now. So it’s not the turbo.

      If your code is saying its the gas pedal senser I would just get a new gas pedal. $38 amazon.

    QA... If the throttle body is leaking oil from the bottom part... the black plastic part... is it only the body or should i change the turbo ?

  • @saraallen6678
    @saraallen6678 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just replaced the sensor in my Yukon. Those clips just come off and you can put just a new sensor on with new clips. Are you sure you can’t get a new sensor only?

    • @WisconsinAdventures
      @WisconsinAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, not on this year you can't. The replaceable sensor was introduced later

    • @saraallen6678
      @saraallen6678 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but the whole black portion can be replaced. You don’t have to buy an entire new throttle body. So the whole plastic portion attached to the metal portion can be replaced. That’s why it’s held on by clips.

    • @WisconsinAdventures
      @WisconsinAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saraallen6678 No, not on this year. It has those clips but when you take them off it is still attached internally with the sensor, the black cap doesn't just come and and is changeable. I tore it apart and there is no way to get the black part off without destroying the shaft its attached to. GM changed the design later that made the part serviceable by removing the clips, like the throttle body in the video I have linked to in the description. They used a gear set up to control the sensor instead of being directly attached to a shaft in the throttle body.
      In this year of Chevy Cruze (cant speak for other vehicles) you can not buy just the black cap sensor because it is non-serviceable- go ahead and buy one off eBay and tear into it and see for yourself.

      @@WisconsinAdventures that’s a bummer. I just replaced the one on my 2010 Denali. It’s definitely a cheaper fix when you don’t have to replace the entire throttle body.

    I have a 2018 chevy sonic with the 1.8 L. Car started vibrating like running over rumble strips while driving on the hwy around 60 mph. Then the check engine and service stabilitrak light came on and the car started sputtering and finally it cut off. It all went down in under 15 seconds. Now It won't start, it just turns over. I only have 20k miles on the vehicle. Is it possible the throttle body already went bad? How about the coil pack? If not could it be crankshaft position or camshaft sensors? I hooked up my obd scanner and there were no stored codes. I'm perplexed!

    • @frankish5314
      @frankish5314 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have probably fixed this by now but my first guess would be the negative (ground) cable from the battery has gone bad. This is a notorious issue with these cars so i would that out first.

    • @ryanchristensen1799
      @ryanchristensen1799 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frankish5314 it turned out to be bad gas from a local shell gas station. I purged it out of the fuel tank with fresh 93 Exxon gas and after about 4 gals it finally ran on its own.

    • @ryanchristensen1799
      @ryanchristensen1799 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frankish5314 well the car only has 21000 miles and I tried unplugging various sensor that would possibly cause it not to start. Plus it wasn't even 4 miles down the road after gassing up when the vehicle cut off on me. So I narrowed it down. Even though I fixed it and it took several tanks of gas with heet poured in I still have a slight shake at idle and a surge on hwy driving greater than 55mph. I've already filed a complaint with shell corporation.

    Hey there! I’m having the same issue with my car, once I replace the throttle body did you have to program the sensors? I was told I had to perform a “reset throttle procedure on the sensor”. Is this true or switching the part is all it takes?? Thank you!

    • @WisconsinAdventures
      @WisconsinAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did not perform any reset procedures after replacing the part. All I did was clear the check engine light with a cheap eBay code reader I own. I read that you can reset the check engine light by turning the car on and off 3 times, although I've never done this so I'm not sure of it works.

      There is a scan tool reset procedure. Though it will do it on its own during drive cycles as long as you don’t set a dtc during the relearn. If you do, clear the codes so the relearn can continue.
