It had me thinking... You know how in the ascension ritual he has you look at his back and show him his scars via the tadpole? Why can't you just do that during the mirror scene?
Honestly..... There's a mirror image scroll available. He can cast it. Technically, he can even cast that spell himself if we chose certain spellcaster classes for him, which you can even justify as getting trained on the spot. He's a high elf, so good chances on having some talents, Gale is right there too. I like the scene, but there's sooooooo many things you could actually do for this, totally in canon.
Yeah! The Changling in my RL D&D campaign turned into a 6' 8" Elf to 'blend in' in a predominantly Elvish city and literally everyone kept staring at him while almost everyone in the party shook their heads at his life choices (exception being the runaway noble who didn't know anything about elves to begin with...)
I would have searched for a very good painter or drawer and asked him/her to draw him down exactly as he is in life. Not as good as a mirror, but it's better, than nothing. People could also lie about what they say about him.
I did that with the artist/painter quest. I just switched to him so that the painter would paint him instead of me. Didn’t get anything special out of it but I like to think he liked it :)
@@claran3616 something about them feels very Klingon/Jem'hadar (especially with their readiness to kill and die for a god they won't question, yeah im big DS9 over here) with their penchant for brutal space warfare and heavily humanoid-alien design
I do always find it funny that Astarrion as an elf talks about not remembering what he used to look like because he's only in his 200 which is literally like an elven 20-something, like his parents are probably still alive. Halsin is in his 300!!!!
But he's been a vampire for longer than he's been a living elf (he died at 39), meaning no mirrors for 161 years. Halsin could at least look at a still body of water or something.

Lmfao I loved this. The complete description and his ‘CANT U MAKE A GOOD COMPLIMENT’
Joke's on us, according to Larian Studios Astarion is only 5'9'' tall
I honestly love how unique a gith playthrough is, people are missing out

Drows fit with dark urges perfectly…
so far ive only played gith it’s quite fun
I’m sorry, the “masterpiece” had me rolling lmaoo, there’s like 2 pixels on that canvas 😭😭😭
lol I love the way astarion says the "going to break your chains in baldur's gate"
I am SCREAMING at the way he says this 😂
The details, man. Larian really thought of it all!
Imagine if you could disguise self as Astarion during Astarion's mirror scene. To act as his mirror. His reaction would have been priceless.

Honestly the super exact description was funny
Except according to official Larian tweets and Astarion's character sheet he is only 5'9'' tall
I’m nearly eye level with Astarion that’s hilarious
the break your chains in baulders gate broke me lol
It sounds like Neil had a lot of fun 😂
the way he enunciated this made me giggle hahahah
he sounds like he's gossiping at a sleepover when he says "going to break your chains in baldur's gate?"
Wait - gith play through is just Autistic Mode? Sign me up!! I love having my bluntness being mentioned in a RPG
OK I'm sold! Rebel Githyanki playthrough here I come
Everyone surprised at Astarion's height have never played DnD once in their lives. Elves are canonically smaller, shorter and finer-boned than humans.

Playing Githyanki has some merits I see. Also you can get early on some real good weaponry, that is particularly useful for gith characters.
so he's canonically 5'11? and there's neil (astarion's va) telling everyone hes 5'9 LMAO
Larian and character sheet said 5'9 iirc I think this might've just been a mistake or a detail to point out a gith Tav sees him greater than he is idk
he's 5'9" but if anyone asks he says he's 5'11".
Tav's just flattering him here he's actually 5'5.
i mean i always take in game information over word of god, but Also. I Do want him to be 5' 9. you see the dilemma we all have
