I returned 2 of those same hoses a couple weeks ago. They are supposed to be burst free. I used them for one day. I actually loved the way they worked. Left the hose connected and the water still turned on and had to leave for a couple of hours. Came back to find one of them at burst at that stupid green plastic fitting. Back to Home Depot they went.
Alright so I just found one of these in the garbage, and it looks brand new. Although when you try to use it, there is hardly any water pressure. So I got to doing what I do and fixed. I started by drilling out the restrictor on the large end. Which help to some? That was definitely not the solution. When I popped the other side off I try to drill it out with a smaller drill bit. But I didn't seem to go through anything So I figured there must be something else restricting it. I felt my way down the house to where there was In obviously harder spot than the rest of the hose. It felt Squishy… that is when I realize what it was, it is a little rubber washer. It was definitely a pain in the butt to get it out. I was about to cut the inner hose, remove the obstruction and reasemble with a hose clamp but i finally got it out with a corse thread screw and a pick. Im honestly surprised how durable the components are! I hammered, drilled, nailed, sucked, blowed and hooked this hose, and she ain't leaking!! Other than that one flaw its the best hose i have ever had! And it was FREE!!! (Minus 30 min of tinkering). I hope somebody here will find this solution to be useful for them. I'm super happy with it. time to go clean something😊
Reading the comments I see I wasn't the only person to have issues with this hose. There were a couple comments offering solutions although from my experience those solutions would not work because the the green bib connector was also crap and would pop off or leak every time I tried to tighten it. In this video, in order to make it work I had to tighten it just right and find a sweet spot so that it would work. Over time, pulling the hose around while using it that sweet spot just wouldn't work.
Same. Mine sounded like a jack hammer at the faucet last year. Yesterday, it made a 'chunk!' sound like something came loose, and now water just trickles out. 😡
I bought one of these at Springtime this year and mine worked great all year round for gardening and suddenly less than a week ago there was about as much pressure as you are getting in this video, and this morning there isn't even half of that pressure and I cannot find any videos addressing this specific problem, only videos how to repair ruptures which doesn't help me. I paid $45 for this thing having no idea it was going to crap out on me like this. I guess I should count myself lucky that it waited to crap out after my grow season just finished.
This hose worked fine last summer. I disconnect all my hoses and store them in my basement during the winter. I just tried to hook it up for the new season and water is pouring out of the green connector with the “H” on it. I’m so angry at the waste of money-this was not a cheap hose!
They tell you to stretch out the host first and hold for 1min BEFORE using as it encourages the reinforced latex tube to create expansion memory for optimal performance. Had mine for a year and works great!
I have the hose connected to faucets on my house and it shakes the pipe really bad! It sounds really really loud in the house like plucking the string on an acoustic guitar. Every time I use the use the kids come out saying something is exploding. It’s so loud! Never had that happen before Other than that, I like the control for watering flowers using a wand style nozzle
Did you prep stretch it to 50 ft and hold it there for a minute. Also they put 2 washer in there 1 is extra. So if you you didn't prep the latex it won't properly expand. But its not what you would expect from and expanding hose. About the only thing I like about the expansion hoses is they are lightweight the rest of the features i just think failed. Fire dept hoses got it right just make it smaller and big enough to deliver the amount of water consumers need.
Just saw a commercial on TV showing a " Hydro-steel" version that was black and they used it to pull a big truck without damage. Guess they are all just garbage though. I thought they'd improved them by now as the first ones that came out were garbage, but guess not.
Bought two from Costco, both started leaking where it connects to the tap, looks like threads inside are gone. Really worst ones. It’s not that these are not worth the money, it wastes your money
DON'T BUY expandable hoses, you're proving the pressure isn't as high, they can burst when left under pressure over period of time, and it can pull on you when spraying a nozzle because you're lowering the pressure! Polymer hoses like Flexzilla and Aqua Joe are the ones to really go for
This hose is dangerous! It exploded, causing harm to my kid. I am sending out comments so people are aware of the risks. Their support told me that this can happen! There needs to be a warning label on the front of the packaging letting people know the risks, and that the interior lining is subject to fail. If anything, don't have your kids play with it. Or tell them they can only play with the water on a hot day if the hose is not attached due to safety concerns. Ridiculous.
Nope, sorry man. I have a 2" main line that feeds my property and overall I have great water pressure. This faucet is at the end of 3/4" line from the main and although it still has good pressure, its probably has the weekest on the property. That being said the green connector still blew off the spigot everytime. So, if your claim happen to be true what does that tell you about the hose?
Piece of crap. Start warer plants and loose the water. Have to tur n off water empty hise abd turn it back on. Waste of $40.00 DOLLARS rather buy a hose to untangle abd fight with then this.

My hydro tech now pops out of the green part where the logo is at, it's complete junk!
Yep same thing here and the hose is about a month old
Complete junk retuned it came home with the same one, and same exact problem again, what a damn joke… complete waste of money
I think these work fine as long as you don't run water thru them. Otherwise , they are fine?
I've had the ABS connector (green plastic fitting) come apart on 2 hoses. I asked Hydrotech how can I fix it? No response.

Had the same issue but used a 5/16 drill bit and drilled through the white restricter it’ll turn into the best hose you ever had .... lol

Mine is leaking from the connector what are strange because it's only like less than a year old
It's becaause there is a flow restricter on the plastic end to reduce the pressure that's why they should not burst

You have to let the pressure build up in the hose before you release the water.
I can never find any hose that isn't crap. Its 2024 now and still no hoses that don't kink or leak.
Just saw a commercial on TV showing a " Hydro-steel" version that was black and they used it to pull a big truck without damage. Guess they are all just garbage though. I thought they'd improved them by now as the first ones that came out were garbage, but guess not.
Had it for 3 weeks. Worked great the first 2 weeks and now the water flow has reduced by 90%. Company is not responsive.
I can't even connect to my faucet!! How do I connect it?
I have the same situation with this hose. Worst hose ever bought!
Water flowing from the green connector and the fabric on the hose is shredding don't buy absolute junk product
Bought two from Costco, both started leaking where it connects to the tap, looks like threads inside are gone. Really worst ones.
It’s not that these are not worth the money, it wastes your money
And yet there is that lifetime guarantee, nothing to return, no issues
This hose comes with water pressure regulator, that’s why.
same problem

Bought mine yesterday, returning today. Crap
The green connection part on ours broke. Hose sucks!!
Hose was fine but fitting sheared off after a month. No repairing this junk
Hydro tech cannot support any pressure at all
Claims 25 ft in reality like 8 ft
I have that same hose it's junk
OMG are u kidding me
You have low water pressure
Nope, sorry man. I have a 2" main line that feeds my property and overall I have great water pressure. Hahahaha 😂 😂 😂
Peice of junk. Leaking after a few weeks.
.
