My biggest "unsafe" solo travel moment happened in NYC. I was approached my a man trying to take my luggage so he could carry them for me. A security officer came over and scared him off but i got a lecture about being more knowledgeable. Im from Nebraska, im a bit naive, but im learning. This video is so helpful 🎉

So glad the security officer was there to help you! I feel like solo travel safety is an ongoing learning experience we’re all going through constantly. Thanks for watching, so glad you found the video helpful! ☺️

I’d download maps of any areas you’re going to on your phone so you have them offline.

I started solo traveling back in November to EU and booked a trip to Costa Rica a couple months ago. I leave next week, great timing of video. Any advice about visiting CR? Ill be in the La fortuna and Monteverde area.

Aw amazing, that’s so exciting! I did La Fortuna & Monteverde on my solo trip too, and honestly my main advice is don’t stay out too late (I always tried to be back to my hostel before it got very dark), and I did a female only dorm room so I ended up meeting a girl to do a bunch of activities with! In La Fortuna I did zip lining, canyoning, and a sunrise volcano hike which were all incredible. And down in Monteverde, the cloud forest walk is amazing!
If you have any extra time, I highly recommend heading down to Manuel Antonio national park down on the beach- it is STUNNING. Plus so many animals like sloths and monkeys right there as you’re walking to the sand!
