    Don't go by serials for specific models is the lesson here. The rotating bezel ring is a part that is simply 3m taped on. It can be easily lifted off and repositioned. Quartz batteries last 14-16months. I reburbish all makes and models. TIME & AGAIN... I get faux high end watches in my shop all the time. Happy your outcome was a good one. John V. in Florida USA

    I have had many watches, omegas, Roles, G shocks, Hamilton's, several Tags , Seikos, Movados, and others. Most accurate and durable watch is my 2008 black face quartz Tag. I have several automatics, but my tag is the best watch I own. I have broken crystals bezels bracelets watches you name it. This Tag is 15 years old been everywhere and still looks great. Amazing watch in a quartz.

    My guess is the backs have been swapped with a black model at some point (possibly in error when the seller was changing batteries). That seems like the simplest explanation if Tag say the watch itself is genuine.

    There was a time when I wanted to get a TAG watch but I never actually did it I stayed with Seiko, lately however I heard of the Aragon watches and I also wanted a larger watch Seiko being 45mm So about a month ago I bought the Aragon in 50mm and I am very happy with it. They do have smaller watches on some of their models you would just have to search through them and they are automatic Cheers

    I bought a new Tag Heuer from an authorized dealer and went to their web site to register for warranty. When I entered the serial number, it gave me the wrong model. Then it gave me the option to enter the SN and model number, and it all popped up correctly. Maybe their computer has issues. I'm glad yours came back authentic. That's one of my fears with eBay.

    Very interesting they could not explain to you about the serial numbers. I have the 500M version and the eta movement failed under warranty and then after 5 years the crown stripped after 5 years. Was very disappointed how low quality and small the threads are. It also happened to my seamaster 300. Are hardly wear the watches, my seiko drivers watches ranging from $400-1000 SKX - marinemaster that I use for work as a tradie . I have never had any problems and have had them for over 20 years. The crown threads look as big as a Rolex . I hope you don’t have any more problems, enjoy your watch and nice to share your experience with the tag .

    EBay is full of fake watches- various Tissot prx are all suspect. Fake Aquaracers are ten a penny on there too. Just because the serial number shows up doesn’t mean it’s that watch. I was going to buy one recently- asked for the serial number did a google and it showed the same model watch for sale with the same serial number in a different country… Tag manufactures watches all over the place and I know some can fall through the cracks. Different factories, systems issues. It’s not like Rolex. Not the same quality control.

It keeps excellent time and has been used for diving upto 40 meters (though so did the £50 Casio I had which I previously wore daily and was over 10 years old.) All this stuff about watches is mostly bullshit. The Casio I had was .025% of the price and looked very similar. Had the Tag not been a gift, I'd have kept wearing the casio. No-one gives a shit what watch you wear and you can get very good high-functioning watches for a fraction of the cost of over-inflated brands.

    Just watch some videos on ADs from watches channels, pretty much every watches dealer can attest that ADs do not have the ability to identify very well made fakes, they'll tell you they do, but they really don't, that also applies for service centers, if it doesn't have obvious signs of being fake they'll work on the watch and say it's real even if it's not, your Tag can be a Frankenstein watch with real parts sourced from other watches which for sure will be recognized as real, or it can use parts from the factory that produces the original parts, again it will absolutely be identified as real by ADs, and explain the wrong serial number, but at the end of the day if it's one of those cases let's be honest, your Tag is as good as any real quartz Tag, actually it kind is a real Tag, just not original, and probably will last just as long.

    • @OneManReviews
      @OneManReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. although the Service Centre assured me that the watch is real, it definitely could be some kind of Frankenstein watch. So the main idea that it's always better to buy a watch from AD.

    It sounds like the grey market dealer you bought from mixed up the case back with another watch when replacing the battery. I don't believe that's too far fetched of an explanation given that these types of dealers sell in bulk and lack the same standard of care you would expect from an AD.

      Example. My father has a “Pepsi” Rolex however he swapped out the bezel because he didn’t like how it kept fading. The pepsi Rolex is worth 20k in original condition. With the black bezel it isn’t worth shit. It would suck to purchase a pepsi and be send something different.

    Honestly, I had the worse experience with tag. I always buy watches from grey sites like Jomashop and have already had so many in my collection. But I fell in love with the design of tag and decided to treat myself. Bad decission. Bezel was misaligned and the chrono hand was almost ticking. This was on an automatic watch I paid full retail for. Sent it for service and they just returned as it was so I sold it at a loss.

    How often do you need to change the battery and it seems they charged $105 for the service? Is that worth it vs a $15 battery replacement at a local jeweler?

    • @OneManReviews
      @OneManReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Every 2 to 3 years. Yes the price for the battery replacement at the Tag Service Center was $105 Canadian dollars. But aside from the battery replacement they clean a watch, replace gaskets and spring bars if needed. Making sure that the watch is still waterproofed.
      I don’t have a trustworthy local jeweller so I would rather pay more for the service. With simple Tissot or Seiko I would go to a department store for the battery replacement.

    There are so many fakes out there and it becomes so difficult to tell due to how good they are made. I was recently about to make a purchase on an TH aquaracer from a seller near by where I live. I started to get sceptical and did not pursue on the purchase. It has a warranty card and everything else to come with the watch. The thing that made me suspicious is that the price offered is too good to be true. A third of the normal price and it was posted as new.

    Hi, thanks for sharing your video. I recently purchased a watch from a fake website which has stolen another “Real Company’s” name, letterhead and company information. I tried to work out with the website first but they reply my emails extremely slow. So then I called the bank to help me assist with this situation because the website asked me to return the product first “AND THEN” they’ll refund my money. However, since it is a fake website, I don’t want to proceed any of the instructions they provided me because if I return the watch back, they may claim that the watch is OK. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone here have faced the same situation like me and how I should resolve the problem?

      Almost all of my watches are automatic, but quartz has its place too, and I do have a couple.
      Sometimes you just want to grab a watch and go, and a quartz watch won't need to be set.
      I also prefer quartz when I'm going to be doing something that might damage an automatic.
      I don't baby my watches whatsoever, but if I'm knocking down a wall with a sledgehammer or something, I'll wear a quartz watch that day.
      My favorite quartz piece is actually an Invicta 26970, which is the quartz version of their Pro Diver model.
