i like the fact that you do 125cc bikes as everyone else avoids them. But these bikes are crucial to getting people onto motorbikes. I do think we are a dying breed, and i worry in 20/30 years from now we wont have motorbikes as we do now. Although i wont be around by then im guessing? i maybe for 20 years, but 30 will be pushing it! I do try to encourage younger riders to get into them but they are told bikes are dangerous and thats it! When i was their age i wanted to ride a motorbike! Now they want to get a car
I think it’s just the uk. When you go over the channel into France all the kids are riding bikes. I really do blame the insurance companies for the high prices they charge the young riders.
Hey man, love your content, especially that you cover the smaller capacity bikes, bikes that are often not featured on other channels. Just one thing I would like to mention. Having spent many years on breakdown/accident recovery (now retired) I don't like to see you doing the pre-chat (before the speed test) sat at the side of the roadlike that, with vehicles whizzing past. In my time, I've seen many vehicles taken out by inattentive drivers when they have not noticed a vehicle parked in a similar position to yours when you are sat at the side of the road..... Take care. Oldbaz.
I’ve been waiting for this one. Seems like a great bike for us small people. Looks good. You mentioned vans. I wouldn’t get a ford. They seem to have loads of engine problems.
Hope it was ok for you. I prefer the looks of the transit custom but it’s going to be my daily so I don’t want to risk it with their engine issues. I will be getting something else. Just don’t know what yet 🤔
Nice looking bike if they was around when I was younger haha Looks quite quick for a 125 bike but don't forget speedo over reads Seen quite few videos with speed with sat navigation gps over reads 8mph but Woo still very impressive Love you videos a honest reviews on bikes cheers
125s got me into motorcycles at the age of 48, my job didn't allow time for getting a license, enter the XSR 125. Two years on I finally managed to squeeze in some time to get my full license and ready to move on to the R3, fast enough for me. I'd really love to keep the 125, it gets fantastic mileage, super cheap to maintain, insure, pay tax for the road, I love it, can't justify having two machines though, bummer. It's great to find myself on this part of the internet, away from the big bike world and next to the non pretentious crowd. For the record, I did two classes on a CB650F the instructors use over here and got my license easy, the 125s are proper motorcycles that teach you all you need to know for safe riding.
I had just the 1 bike for 20 years. It’s only been recently my mind has changed. 1 for touring, 1 for off road, 1 for fun, and any other 1 I can justify to myself 😂😂
@@GillyBikes Well, I may very well end up like you. I am waiting for my kids to open their wings and, in the meantime, I'm saving to be able to retire early. A nice early retirement sounds like a great plan. I would love a bit of that myself. Hopefully my TH-cam channel will keep growing and that might help me achieve it as well 🤞
That’s the crazy thing about these 125’s. When you get there it’s brilliant. But on my bikes I get there in 1st or 2nd gear 😂. It’s just more fun on a 125.
@@GillyBikes Yes do speed run. You must have reviewed so many bikes that you forgot that you have not done a vid. Can see your old vid of this bike but not the gsx-s.

@@GillyBikes that's fair, just I timed it in this video and was around 16 seconds where I've done around d 11 on my r125. I do have the 2023 though which is quicker, would you review the newest generation r125?
I got the new Black and Red 2024 GSX-R125 and I love it. Cost just over £5000 which is pretty steep for a 125cc but there was a deal on and Suzuki knocked off £500 for me so I was happy with that. I do like the Yamaha though, it's faster (Apparently) and looks like a medium sized motorbike as opposed to a 125cc. I can't wait to get a bigger bike once I pass my test. Have some fun on my GSX-R125 without the L plates for a little while (Need to get my moneys worth out of it) and then go for my A2 Licence and get maybe a 500cc Sports bike. 😇 GSX-R125 is an awesome beginner bike though, can't fault it. 👍
Nice to hear. To me the GSXR was faster than the Yamaha. But there didn’t seem to be much in it. They are definitely the fastest 125’s you can buy new. 👍
@@GillyBikes As you said, the GSXR is a small slimlined motorbike, so it weighs less and that probably factors into why it may be faster than the Yamaha? I ran out of road 😂, i can confirm that it will go over 70 and beyond. Very impressive bike. Especially in its standard form with no performance enhancing parts / tuning.
You can’t really go wrong with Suzukis , every one I owned reliable , handled well & more than up to the tasks I required from it . If I was 50 odd years younger & weighed in at a skinny 11 • 5 stone , I could be tempted to offer a cheeky 3 grand cash on the nose punt 😎👍

The GSXS 125 exactly the same just no fairing and a seating position you would prefer. You should try that out.

My first ride I had sore ass and wrists but after that I've had no issues with it, and I've been on plenty of long ride outs
It’s the fastest modern 125 I’ve been on so far and I’ve tried a few. I can see only the old two strokes being faster.
If you use them all the time you just get used to them.
I get the fact that it's supposed to replicate its big brother but with 15hp can it really be classed as a sports bike?
In style yes. These would be brilliant on the race track as well. they are as sporty as a 17 year old in the uk will get for the road.
