    I'm in my mid 60's and have been riding since 72. I've had open class sport bikes, Harleys, classic British bikes, Ducatis, etc., and I think this slow little bike is probably extremely fun.

    I just bought the gsx s version of this brand new due to needing a light bike as I'm finding bigger ones too heavy at the moment due to health condition. Looking at top speed videos of these record indicated speeds of 83mph at the rev limiter, probably a true 78-80😃. Been out on it everyday this week and enjoying it apart from the bloody headwinds we've been getting this week making it feel like a 50cc at times especially trying not to use all the revs with it been new! Looking online Suzuki GB did used to supply the centre stand's for both model's, but for some reason stopped 😡,but if you want one there available in Japan 🙂

      Yes. In the uk 125’s are learner bikes. 150’s are to big for them. So they won’t sell them here. No market for them.

It's exhilarating enough and very punchy, I'm still contemplating on whether to get 3rd party exhaust fitted or not, but then again the plan is to sit my DAS course, pass it for full licence and just pick up a GSXR, from 500 cc and upwards. All of the 125 sports bikes I’ve tried are all very similar height wise. Best advice I can give is take him to a dealers that sells them and he can jump on a few and see which bike he’s most comfortable on. 125 sports bikes are all quite small so he might feel cramped on all of them. Hopefully not though. Keep me posted. G.

    Not a rider …..yet but I think once I start learning I will have to start on a 125 despite what I want to ride. Re the wrist pains, I was wondering - could this be sorted by changing the handle bars? I mean, I’ve seen a fair few bike vids and for nearly all of them, irrespective of type of bike ( so sports, adventure, dual sorts, scrambler etc) folks talk about swapping stock bars out for stuff like bar risers or after market stuff. Is that something that can be done to this bike? If so maybe getting a different set of bars, maybe more higher up or possibly more ‘open’/ away from the body could possibly help? Im 70kg and will mainly be using this for communing in and around London. If I do any longer rides it def wont be more than say more than 1.5hrs so hearing about wrist pain is a bit disconcerting. (I have pipe cleaners for arms!! Lol)

    • @GillyBikes
      @GillyBikes  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you’re right you can spend more money making the bike fit you better. Some bar risers can help. I’ve been on a few sports 125’s that come as standard with a higher position so much better on the wrist I’ve done a review on the Keeway rkr and you can feel the difference here’s a link. th-cam.com/video/V5EjiusVCCo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yEfBYmZnd_K5KhcQ

    Its vastly overpriced for the 125 cc market. Most people will not spend £5.000 on a bike they dont intend on keeping for long say a year or yr n half max. Most 125 riders on cbt are simply riding a bike untill they get their full car licence and then probably wont touch a bike again. Or will ride a 125cc just for a short time because showing L plates are an embarrassment and as soon as they can will want to get their A1 + A2 OR Full access out the way so to ride those bigger bikes. Only people with money to burn will waste 5 grand on a poxy low powered 125 cc and considering how tight money is for millions of people i cant help but wonder how many of these are still left unsold ?

    • @GillyBikes

      I don’t think people look at it that way anymore. I think most will say I can get a keeway for £40 per month or I can get one of these for £60 and they think for only £20 a month difference or £5 per week they can have one of these. Using finance as a way to buy these means more people do.

      You would be surprised. Driving lessons and car insurance is that expensive it’s making these 125 bikes much more appealing. For a 17+ year old that’s working and living at home these bikes are a cheap option to get to work. However times are hard so not many can afford to pay £5000 out right which is why so many are going for the cheaper bikes. Keeways, lexmoto’s and Benelli’s at £3000 or less and have really cheap monthly payments. There are bikes for every budget. I have a video coming out tomorrow that is really cheap 👍
