      Nice.. I have a WASR , 1971 stamped receiver just left OG style with the wood etc.. An have a PSA GF3-E with a 13.7 inch barrel and the pin and welded muzzle. So I could get it with the "folding stock" and not a "brace," especially because of all the new ATF bs that might coming. I don't want to have to ditch the brace or register shit, so didn't want a pistol one..
      The main things that kind of sold me and that I was looking for, were the hinged and railed dust cover. An then I wanted a folding stock, I kind of like the under folders. But don't like how it kind of gets in the way of the hand guard grip, an then I also wanted an AK with the sight moved up to the gas block or tube.. An it looks bad ass being a little shorter, an yet still a rifle because of the pinned muzzle. The only thing with that, is they only had maybe 2 or 3 muzzle options. An I'm regretting not ordering the full size with a threaded muzzle, so I could get what I want.
      Wanted it be a more modernized looking AK47, but the triangle folding stock is a little classic looking. An now I guess nobody can get anything from Russia, I really wanted the Zenitco PT-1 Gen2 folding stock. Looks way more modern.
      Did you order your PSA ? An if so, how were they with the processing and shipping.. Like how did they take, or were they pretty quick ? Idk if it's just because of the holiday etc, an the amount of orders they're receiving. But it's been like 5 days, an they haven't even processed my payment. Let alone shipped anything, even though it was debit and I've already paid for the thing lol..

    I moronically impulse bought an Ak before researching it and it’s an pioneer sporter. I was considering getting rid of it after seeing all the issues with them but I seen a few posts about them upping their QC game gave me a little hope. I believe mine is a newer forged model only have a few hundred round through it but it seems to be holding up for the price. Can’t wait to see how the gun runs overall.

    • @Thechameleonofall
      @Thechameleonofall ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it has an “F” after the two digit year on the non-ejection port side of the front trunnion, it’s forged. If it doesn’t have the “F” after the two digit year number then it is a Cast trunnion.

    • @Thechameleonofall
      @Thechameleonofall ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you only plan on throwing a few hundred rounds a year through it, either should be fine. If you’re looking for something you would trust with your life, look elsewhere. I own a 22 sporter underfolder with a cast front trunnion, is it a POS, maybe. Haven’t shot it enough to know. It shoots nice, recoils okay, no feeding issues or stoppages. Only took me 6 rounds to zero and it’s been on so far. I didn’t really buy it for “the end of the world” smh, I bought it to shoot every once in a while as a range gun. I’m not an elitist so I don’t really care as long as it’s fun. The AK gang can say what they want and that’s fine, they have all the knowledge. I’m just saying that if you like it and it’s fun to shoot, have at it. Probably in 10 years or less, they’ll be say these are great. I remember a long long time ago when everyone completely trashed the WASR’s and now they’re considered great. There’s a guy with a grey camo painted Pioneer sporter that he started has 3000 rounds through it and he only cleaned it after the first 1000 rounds. It is the cast trunnion model I think from 2020. You can just look for Pioneer Arms Sporter 3000 rounds. I don’t know how to add a link, I’m old lol.

      @Thechameleonofall ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnDoe-in9lc lol, I noticed that when I first watched the video. I was watching all the videos I could on these and when I was about to, I’d screenshot the trunnion and zoom in. I did the same on a video from Atlantic and theirs had the “F”. I know for sure that the 5.56 version with the forged front trunnion has the “F”, but their are some videos that do show the “F” after the date on 7.62’s. My front trunnion is marked identical to the one in this video with the date being “22” on the trunnion without the “F”. I’ve had absolutely no issues with it while using multiple different ammo types. I don’t have a high round count but so far so good. Every couple hundred rounds I pop the gauges in it and it hasn’t moved at all. I have a few different AKM’s but I like taking the PAC to the range the most. If the trunnion is junk and brakes (but doesn’t kill me lol) they’ll apparently replace it. I don’t want to find out hahaha. I have to be honest, I really like the thing. I’d hate for it to be junk because they are beautifully put together. I don’t think I’ll shoot this thing enough to get to the point of it failure, but time will tell. If it goes kaboom and I make it, I’ll report back lol.

    My experience with the company was pretty positive. I purchased one of their Trainers and got a dud. I don't believe it was Pioneer's fault or the gun, it was just one of those deals where you get a lemon. Pioneer graciously replaced it with a 5.56 gun and sent me a very good rifle. The rifle has been through its paces and already emptied quite a few boxes of PMC 556 and 223 and no issues thus far. I fully intend on replacing the bolt and carrier with a WBP from Arms of America, along with some of the furniture to give it a bit more something. Pioneer is fantastic in their communication and willingness to work with you. I got a lot more out of the deal than I paid for and that was mostly due to Pioneer owning up on some of the mistakes on their part and compensating me in a very satisfactory manner. I honestly believe in redemption stories, and Pioneer is currently in the process of theirs.

    This is the first time I've heard it stated that the later Russian, Polish, and Romanian Kalashnikov's have cast bolt carriers. I know at a later point (not 100% sure on the date) they started using cast rear trunnions, rear sight blocks, and front sight blocks but had no idea about the carrier. Are they cast steel or cast iron? With as soft as cast steel and/or iron is the carrier tail would rapidly get peened/mushroomed. As happens on the RAS-47 and Pioneer Arms AK's which have cast bolt carriers.
    I have a large collection of AK's, many are Soviet era parts kit builds. Going over them right now to see if I can identify any cast bolt carriers.

      Yep, they definitely swithed over. Izhevsk first, Tula a few years later. Of course the bolt itself remained machined. One reason RAS47 carrier tails were deforming as it turned out was the Tapco G2 (or G2 style) hammer. Of course another reason was over-gassing to the point of the carrier hitting the rear too hard over and over.

    It’s missing the full auto trip on the bolt carrier. The ejector has the crimp. Id like to see it bump fired with a couple of drums. If your having trouble inserting mags, it might just need a bit more dremeling of the lower rails or the back of the mag well near the mag catch. Or even the sides of the mag well of the receiver. Although, I’ve seen all kinds of mags have different dimensions. So probably JRA opened up the mag well to be kinda tight so you could later open it up if you wanted to. Easier to remove material than add it back.😊

    Seen alot of these lately. My old wasr was my first ever ak. Followed by the arsenal after i knew a lil bit. Then the wbp jack. Save the cash for the wbp or arsenal is my advice. No way should u have to pay 13 to 2k for a ak but it’s 2022 lol. At least the arsenal or wbp is gonna be solid and outlive most shooters schedules and retain its value if u should ever need to sell in a pinch.
