This is a mini lecture on the basic components that make up tree diagramming. It includes ideas like noun phrases, verb phrases, adjective phrases and adverb phrases.
This video will be soooo helpful for so many people. Years ago I scoured the internet to find information like this for a class and couldn't find it anywhere. Glad to see it's out here now. You rock.
This is the an awesome review of basic tree diagrams! I am currently studying languages teaching at UABC and this could really be helpful with my classmates. I will share this video! Awesome job, truelly appreciate it.
Hello Sir thanks a lot for these videos , you are really making me understand better , i have one question not related to this lesson but in fact it s about the branch of esp what would be the best or method to follow as being an esp teachers ? what is the role of the teacher in this case ? how about learners ? i mean is there any special notes to be taken in consederation ? i appreciate any feedback
Excellent explanation! However, I have a question at 8:09. Why since the [Adj P: with the curly red hair] is modifying [N: lady], is it not connected to the [NP: the young lady]? Why is it immediately connected to the [VP: [V:Like] + [NP the young lady]]. With its connection to the VP it seems to be modifying the V. Thank you for the great video
Thanks a lot for this very useful lesson. If, instead of over the bridge, it was let's say "to New York" would that still be an AdvP or something like a location phrase
How will I introduce an AdvP if its before the verb?? e.g I quietly opened the door. Will the VP be integrated in the AdvP or will there be a diferent branch before the VP ?
I know some information about tree diagramming but I can't draw a tree diagram for all sentence, and sometimes I draw them in a wrong way. What should I do to learn how to draw better tree diagrams Yesterday I had a test about them and lost many marks cuz I am not skillful at this 😭😭😭😭😭
I am sorry to hear that you did not do well on your exam. I would recommend the following 1. do a diagnostic of your tree diagramming skills to identify your weaknesses. Get a list of about 10 sentences that you can use to create tree diagrams. 2. Analyze and assess the tree diagrams to identify your weaknesses. Do the analysis with someone who has greater skill at analyzing tree diagrams. 3. Begin practicing tree diagram with a focus on your weak areas. I would also recommend that you begin at the top and work your way down. What I mean by this is when you begin to do a tree diagram, 1. Identify the primary noun phrase and verb phrase. also, identify any dependent clauses 2. begin the top part of your tree by identifying those two primary sections. 3. Begin to break down each of those sections into their major components

Integrated. VP --> AdvP AND VP --> MVP AND VP --> NP
