    Thank you! At 16:00, why would (misleading) be classified as an adjective? Couldn't it just be a verb?
    For example:
    1) If we say (he is eating), then (is + eating) is (AUX + MV),
    2) and if we say (He is happy), then (is + happy) is (MV + ADJ).
    So, why misleading is an ADJ rather than a MV?

    • @SV-ue8uc
      @SV-ue8uc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good Question:
      1) if "misleading" is a verb. It suggests the report is doing something.
      The report is trying to be misleading - No (the person who wrote the report is trying to be misleading)
      2) if "misleading" is an adjective. It is describing the report.
      The report is misleading and difficult and unusual and unreliable. - Yes
      I don't think the report wants to be misleading or is trying to be misleading.
      I think the report is misleading (therefore it is a description)

      I agree here. “Completely” relates to “recovered” which is a verb? So surely this should be an adv or advp? Would be nice to clarify.
      However these lessons are so interesting and I wish to say thank you for helping to to provide such clarity.

    Sir couldn't really understand why did you refer to the word when as clause? What's the difference between a phrase and a clause in this respect?

    • @vinissues4634
      @vinissues4634 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A phrase has a meaning by itself. Meanwhile the clause needs a verb, for the phrase it is unnecessary!
      Phrase - "HELP"
      Clause - "I ran"

      The phrase, "the city council" is a noun phrase with the primary noun being Council. Although the word City is usually functioning as a noun, in this particular noun phrase the word city is describing what kind of counsel. Therefore City in this noun phrase is an adjectives that describes the kind of council.
      It is important to remember that words have Form and Function. although the form of the word city appears to be a nounish, its function is clearly adjectivial.

    • @fabianfischer4229
      @fabianfischer4229 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      F Tuzi Actually, _city council_ is an endocentric compound where _city_ is the modifier which describes the type of council, as you said and _council_ being the head which is described.
