Consistent run and stable (non bouncing/surging rod tip) pulls/runs; a flapping bat ray? A bat ray would be my guess; but I have only hooked and fought 1.
@@theoldsurffisher1943 My best guess is a bat ray around 100lbs. I have easily caught 4 rays in the past few weeks, one being roughly 60lbs, but none of them fought like this. The previous rays had lots of flapping, like you said, but this one had none, just a constant pull. Whatever this was was absolutely unstoppable, as shown in the video, and I have a feeling it didn’t even know it was hooked😂. I hope to post more videos soon as the perch pick up!🐟
@@theoldsurffisher1943 The bat rays only showed up around a month ago for me. If you look at my “community tab” I list specific locations and images if I have them. They put up a good fight but are annoying to unhook with their barbs.
@Ducky2o flip them on their back, grab the hook shank with your pliers close to the barb, lift the ray in the surf, then jerk down quickly to release the hook, the ray will fall into the surf
Stingray indeed!!
Stingray! 😄
@@MrSandomir It was a big one! 😂

Looking forward to your videos. Are bat rays catches, new catches where you fish?
