I throw left handed so it has always been hard for me to learn the underhand Florida throw. In Texas we mostly throw while wading so we use a lot smaller nets and throw horizontally like a discus throw.

looks like a very good way to throw the net because you opened 2/3'rds of the net, 1/3rd w one hand and the other 1/3rd with the other hand. you explained things in great detail and thats a big, big help! thanks for the great video

I love this video. I have watched it several times. I can clearly see what you are doing and how you are getting such beautiful spreads on your throws. I have used a similar technique to yours for years with a 7ft net and a 12ft net. I can open the nets pretty consistently but nothing as pretty as your throws. From your video I can see how you are actively spreading the net with your swing, your momentum and your pinky on the lead line. Its great. Its all great! I really appreciate this video. I will be practicing in my yard and will try to do exactly what you are doing. I love it! Thanks so much.
Personally, I've always liked the 'half-and-half' net stance (half on your left, half on your right, with the left thrown over your casting arm) holding your lead-line (and throwing it as your lead)...but when you get tired, your cast tends to 'go oval' when you do this...and the net doesn't open all the way. This is, by far, the best 'fully open' cast method I've actually seen...will have to work on trying this now...THANKS!

Great tutorial video! I've been using this load for over 20 years. I learned it from a local cast net maker in Cocoa Beach FL, this is the first time I have seen anyone throw a net the same way. Over the years I have tweaked it a little for my size and application but it's basically the same technique. I use a 10 or 12' 5/8" pogie net with 18# of lead.

Best throw net instruction
Excellent job of teaching how to throw the net. I've thrown a net for decades using a different method but haven't gotten the pancake flat open that you get. Your method appears to be considerably better. I look forward to switching. Thanks for doing a great job showing how to throw it.
