The Hooks at 3:45 were to hook Camouflage nets up. The nets would hook to the Ceiling and then lay over the Guns and then it would hook out to stakes hammered into the ground. Then when they wanted to fire the gun they would unhook the nets, and then cast the nets to the side.

This looks like Denmark? - IT IS! 3:36 THAT WAS A HUGE KANONE! 38mm coastal battery? These bunkers were superbly designed and coordinated. They copied tactics from medievel times. Intermeshing zones of fire - a 'killing field' NOWHERE TO HIDE from the MG Tobruks. You see this in old castles PERFECTION in fire coverage. Every gun was covered by many others. Troops trying to storm this area would be like grass being cut down with a mower............savage levelling withering fire. 11:04 a very interesting feature you SHOT past. A hole in between two rooms, i have seen images of the bunker ovens in this hole so they heated BOTH rooms from one stove, jsut behind it in the next room - the chimney outlet! 12:03 spotted on top of the bumner highest point possibly a rangefinder or searchlight pole? I am startng your videos right from the beginning. I have watched many hours I feel I am starting know you a little 😊 TOTALLY BRILLIANT again. Thanks HH

Nice video. The Hanstholm I Battery had four 17cm Guns in type M270 bunkers. At 4.06 is the shaft where the fired cartridge cases were thrown after firing. At 6.56 is the type M162 Leitstand command bunker. The circle at 13.42 is an emplacement for a 7.5cm Flak. At 14.02 is an Fl 242 Flak bunker. At 15.30 is the platform for another 7.5cm Flak.

What a fantastic location to visit. So much to see. You would think someone would have invented a coating to put on these bunkers that would leave them looking natural but also help to preserve them. After watching some many of your videos am excited at all the things I can recognize on sight. You’ve taught me a lot. I would love to catch the people who do the graffiti on these historical locations. We have the same problem here. Not as much in the national parks.

Very cool! Reminds me of Pointe du hoc. Its thrilling to explore bunkers and try to conceive what happened. A shame many of them go to waste. I think 8:15 is a flak position as well, too exposed to be a cannon. The drone footage at the end shows a crater, but it appears so alone. Strange.

Google Earth has a good 360 image of that location "Hanstholm Reservatet". I always try to lookup your locations when possible to get a better bird's eye view of the battlefield at the time. As I would never expect a treasure hunter to divulge their places, sometimes you are at sites where it is a sightseeing tour of a historic place. Knowing that location a little more precisely would help with even more context. Marking that site and then zooming back gives one a good sense of the importance of that position on the coast. Good work...and enjoyable.

most enjoyable. The naval cannons, that were in the first emplacement you showed, do you have any idea of their calibre? As to the concept of the Atlantic Wall, I agree with you when said it was to large to be effective. The wall never stopped the allies from landing where they wished. At best, it was a delaying tactic, trying to hold the invading troops within a pocket, so reinforcements could be rapidly deployed to deal with them ( the invaders ). Thanks again for sharing this. I can not wait for the second installment.

I don't know if you are interested, but I researched the typical naval cannon on the Atlantic wall. It was called an Adolfkanone. Designed by Krupp in1934 H-class battleship. Calibre 406mm or 16 inch. In service between 1942 to 1944. OK there is more if anyone wants it. Davie

its quite special too see so much original paint on the walls after 70 years in the salty sea air. bunkers are in good overall shape; not too much rot and they've kept their original shape perfectly. (some of these bunkers simply collapsed; or were destroyed)

Hey thanks, that is were I planned to go and i stayed exactly there at the Valperola Pass (2200m) with my camping car for 4 days. The most impressive and amazing outdoor museum in the world. I hiked/climbed the Monte Stef, Col di Lana and Lagazuoi. I tried to explore everything, but you need month to cover all sites in this area. I went home yesterday, because it began to snow on saturday exactly when i have been in the Martini via ferrata. By the way, the tunnels of the Alpini, which almost through the whole mountain, are really creepy and there was nobody else than me. If you want to feel history, that is the place to be. I will be back and there is so much left to explore. There are a lot of hidden bunkers and tunnels, you can not see from the street and you have to move your ass to find them and for sure you need mountain equipment and safety gear and your body must be in good conditions.
I made a lot of videos, but in extremly poor quality, must buy soon a gopro or something like that.
Ah, and another thing. When I went back via the old brennero street, I have been in a traffic jam at Brennero on the Italian side. And I looked around and there is a little bunker with fake rocks, directly next to the street. Passed it for sure 30 times but never saw it. :)

Great video Mr. HistoryHunter! It is very interesting to know that the German army built all of these gun bunkers in Denmark! Be careful and don't get in one of the bunkers that you can't back out of quickly! Great history Mr. HistoryHunter. Keep up the good work. Thanks a million! Chevy

I'm I the only one who saw the SS runes on the back inside the brick bunker. because of those runes I personally believe that the area was manned by the Waffen-SS WW2HH I would like to ask what exactly did it say in that bunker? was it an ss division or something?

Greetings from Texas. I'm sure there are old films showing these inplacements during the war. Can you mix a few seconds of those with what you're showing to give dimensional perspective? As usual enjoyed your videos.

I wonder if the Germans ever filmed the building of these bunkers to use as propaganda back in Germany.maybe someday the films will show up on TH-cam.

I have some similar bunkers and forts near where I live, except they are British bunkers built to defend the port where I live. Interesting stuff. Thanks for the tour.

The design of the trench leading into the bunker protected the soldiers but also made it deadly for anyone trying to take the bunker. Nowhere to shelter from the machine gun fire from the bunkers. The sea salt is really taking a toll on these bunkers. So many to see. Very nice location.

wow....i just cannot fathom the idea of the amount of planning and work that went into all these and the number of people it took to build these as they had to have many at the same time to build all these across the country. i still cant believe that no one bother to notice this going on prior to the war starting or say anything. this is a massive undertaking. great job and keep up all the awesome videos.
