honestly feels like ive been waiting forever for season 2. this was mine and my mums favourite show, she passed in april 2019. it makes me sad she wont get to see how incredible this is going to be :(

@@dambay61 read them all too and honestly, I didn't care for the second book. I felt that it dragged on until she meet Phillip and then again until she meet Goody. The first was my favorite by far. I'm excited for this new season though.

@@isabellasoares7041 I thought it was just me. It dragged on until they finally come back to London. I couldn't STAND Marlowe!! Thirsty ass bastard! From the previews of this season, it looks like we will be seeing more of the congregation. So I'm excited for that. I like this ancient supernatural shadow government.
The casting for this show is seriously brilliant! Like the characters truly have come alive !
Fortunately, I've only just discovered this series as I cannot wait to watch Season 2. Matthew Goode is phenomenal in this and his chemistry with Theresa... love it! This trailer is superb and this programme is superb!

I hadn't heard of the trilogy until I saw season 1, but LOVED all the books! I agree that reading them helped me feel like I know the characters more deeply.
Unconvinced by Matthew Goode, but was converted by the end of the first episode of S1.
I adore Matthew Goode, he was the perfect choice to play Matthew Clairmont and Teresa was born to play Diana, together they are like fireworks going off, they have fantastic chemistry.

The actress playing Queen Elizabeth was magnificent, she relished in the role and brought such humanity... I cried in that scene between here and Matthew.
Barbara Marten was extraordinarily believable as Queen Elizabeth I. Well done!!

It's actually just an arrangement of Handel's "Sarabande in D Minor" (written for piano around 1706). Handel's original is a quiet, dignified dance, but when I learned to play it as a kid, I had no idea it was supposed to sound subdued. To my teacher's horror (LOL), I played it with all the drama and thunder I could muster, just like the soundtrack in "A Discovery of Witches." Imagine my delight to hear "my" interpretation on the trailer!

One main reason why I love the books is because the subtle details the author makes about the environment; the reason why Sept-Tour has instant hot water to shower.
I love that the women in the sixteenth century and before did all the house work and clothing. Jack as a dying baby boy and Annie. Etc.
Witch series for those with love of history and with great taste.

I discovered this show yesterday i watched the last four episodes today. I love the show!! We are lucky we discovered the show just a few days before Season 2 has its premiere compared to people who had to wait since 2018 Nov 2. :-) Here in Sweden atleast the season 2 premiere/airs January 8th.

I have read the books more times then I can count and I never reread books. I have the audio books on play all the time. For years this has been my go to series. I am a history teacher and I even have Deborah Harkness textbooks Elizabethan England. The 1st season was amazing, but season 2 is going to magical.
I, too, have read the books and have the trilogy on audio book! Although, I'm not fond of the narrator (she's no Davina Porter), but I really enjoy listening while cooking or if my eyes are too tired to focus on the books.
If they're looking for a new James Bond, look no further than Matthew Goode.

Even though I read the book trilogy way before they even decided to make this into a series and know what's going to happen, I'm still super excited for season 2, as excited as I was when I found out they were going to make the trilogy into a show years ago. Man, they make great trailers for this series, and they are great at casting it and also even like a lot of the changes they've made, like showing other points-of -view from other characters instead of it being 95% Diana's point-of-view like in the books we get to meet characters earlier and not just when Diana meets them.
