I personally think the direction FNAF is going is to focus on the horror of losing control of how you perceive reality. And being unable to see the difference between vr, ar, and real life.
It's a really terrifying concept if you think about it as something that can happen in real life today. I guess there can be some mental illnesses that can lead to you getting lost in VR worlds or games such as VRChat or a possibility to merge into it so deep that you wouldn't be able to perceive real life in any adequate way. It's like... an extreme case of escapism and rejection of reality for people who can't manage their stress.
Am kinda worried about the lore side of fnaf if we already have this crazy of stupid technology what will happen it would be cool if we go back to the past but it would be so random
25:11 here's an observation I noticed that might possibly back this up; When it's the grimic talking to Cassie, it's always about him/it-it's always "me me me" ("you have to find ME" "don't stop looking for ME" "save ME Cassie please" "deactivate roxy and save ME" "You saved ME") and never once asked Cassie if she's okay and whatnot But when it's the real Gregory, all his lines is always expressing his attention to Cassie's well-being ("Cassie are YOU there?" "Cassie is that YOU?" "I've been trying to reach YOU all night!" "Cassie YOU need to get out of there!") And in the elevator scene-the greg lines are making it all bout "him" again ("I know you did it for ME, to save ME")-exactly like the previous talking patterns grimic has been spewing throughout the whole game to lure Cassie in the basement ALSO, the way he said "it's been trapped down HERE" instead of "down THERE" could be a hint that was indeed the mimic, it could have slipped and made an error of wording that sentence (cuz technically it is still down here,, standing by the elevator) because the real Gregory just literally said he's not at the pizzaplex moments ago so that's some discrepancy right there, the grammar is not grammaring in the context of the situation at hand Just something I noticed
My biggest problem with FNaF is the unreliability with how everything works. For example: We have illusion discs, nightmare gas and others. There is no safe ground to stand on, one moment you think this is a real event, the next is that it was a game in universe the whole time!
Honestly I feel the same. With each game addition the lore just becomes more and more confusing. Ruin just made more questions instead of tying loose ends.
Also, that fnaf 1-6 could just all be false, even though at least some of the games have to be true in some way, shape, or form for the story to make any sense at all.
OH, I forgot to even mention that the VANNI mask can also distort and warp reality visually and physically to the user, and HW2's VANNI mask, you can't even tell you're wearing one!

The guy who freed Gregory from BB Balloon World might have been the dude behind the arcade conspiracy messages since his final one about not being able to “save the princess” is next to the BB arcade machine so he may have beaten the arcade machine before being fired but he couldn’t finish the job, so Gregory picked up where he left off.
8:02 i keep hearing people talking that Roxie mistakes Cassie for Gregory, but right before Roxie says Gregory and starts chasing Cassie, that is when real Gregory (for the first time, i think) trys to contact Cassie. Roxie hears Gregory, then movement, so she assumes Cassie is Gregory. But the first time Cassie actually speaks, that is when Roxie says sorry, i ...error. if it wasnt for Gregory trying to get ahold of Cassie, Roxie wouldnt have attacked Cassie
Rye, please don't forget, that there are TWO elevators. the one that Mimic destroys and the one that Cassie used to come down to the underground lair. thus, even if Gregory dropped the elevator to stop Cassie and Mimic - it would be for the lulz, since Mimic can always use the other elevator to escape the underground.
There’s only one set of Freddy casing, meaning that there can only be one Freddy, Vanessa even mentions IN GAME that they would have to slap Freddy’s casing on a new animatronic. They only have one copy of it, otherwise they would just “pull out the spare”
True!! Then we are back to the same question. What significance does the prototype label have? Was freddy the first animatronic made then copied for Bonnie, Chica Roxy? Or is steel wool saying that there is another version of freddy. Is this the same freddy we see in the security breach and if not where did this one come from?
You're assuming a prototype would be used as a spare or even be compatible with the "real" one. You can have a prototype with real defects while also having only a single release model.
Regarding the walkie talkie range, Pizzaplex probably wants the kid there to play around talking to each other on the walkie talkie, but the signal would be attenuated in such a big building. I.e. it is reasonable that there is a repeater system setup across the pizzaplex for walkie talkie frequencies. It doesn't take much for some signals to leak out and reach Cassie. It also helps that Fazbear Corp is not the kind of entity to give a flying flamingo about FCC's power regulations on civilian radio use.
He is, except he doesn’t really exist on his own (at least as far as we know). Eleanor in the books attaches agony onto a kid and this forms into Shadow Bonnie. Micheal, who we play as in FNAF 2, could be seeing Shadow Bonnie because Baby had put agony/remnant onto him.

At most, we play as Mike for Night 7. It's also possible that we don't play as Mike at all in FNaF 2, if the Logbook's implications that his first Freddy's job was FNaF 1 are any indication.
About the "Prototype" label under Freddy's foot, why couldn't it just be the paint wearing off? I mean, he's been trapped down there for who knows how long and he (allegedly) went through a earthquake. The least I would expect would be for his body to get at least a bit scratched, just because of that. Maybe he was always a prototype, but for some reason they just painted over the label and put him on stage anyway. And now that I think of it, this could also explain why he malfunctioned right at the beginning of SB: he wasn't ready to be performing on stage yet!
that could also explain how he was able to avoid Afton's influence for the majority of the game: being a prototype, he probably also had a less refined, harder to parse code, so hacking into him was probably just literally harder.

I loved the indie game thing right when I saw it, because it had Scott's goofy face, it was a pretty cool idea coming off of FNAF 6, and Help Wanted is amazing. However, after the fact, it's all gotten so diluted, that I just don't care or am ambivalent about the indie game thing.
Into the pit, heard a theory that instead of a time traveling pit, it's sorta like poltergiest and ghost movies were the people being haunted get visions. The kid is getting an extra long vision due to the strong remnant in the pit, showing him how the pit became haunted.

To me it seems that Cassie's fear of eyes is trying to establish something I just don't know what. Maybe some connection to Roxy who lost her eyes or to Baby who change her eye's color when Elizabeth possess her.
With the fact that Cassie stays in the basement in all 3 endings, there is also the part for the scooper ending where the path to the bad ending's elevator is completely blocked. So she would have nowhere to go (since going backwards through the basement means the furthest she could go is the elevator that leads down to the sinkhole from the raceway, cause it should technically only be able to survive 1 trip down). Also, with Gregory mentioning they have the building maps...for a cave system...he could be looking at maps of the sister location bunker that just look different in person than on blueprints. Another thing I thought of for explaining each of the endings of SB is that you witness all the events in the game from Gregory's perspective, so some things might have happened differently and we just see how Gregory sees it. (my brain hurts xD)

It’s not consistent mechanic of fnaf per se, but I love that the faz goo is a thing. Non fnaf fans kinda understand what a sound illusion disks could mean, but if you asks them what faz goo is they just short circuit. Time traveling ball pits are a close second though.

And sun drops down into the ball pit at the start of the game, it could have been sun playing the game, sun in ruin atleast has some understanding and clarity of their and moon's situation so they are at least somewhat beyond the corruption the animatronics have
Clearly Mimic had access to employee files and found Cassie's father's file, which probably had information about his daughter, her location, etc. It could be how there were missing children in the first place. Mimic or whoever reaching out to kids from within the pizzaplex, luring them in. This time, he just knew exactly who to contact.
The fact that none of the endings from a major installment can be definitively considered canon lets you know how much of a terrible direction the story is headed lol

To the “why would they sensor Vanessa” question, I originally thought Gregory’s friend was Freddy (who regained more of his memories from when he was in the secret basement).
Mustard Man isn't Afton. Emily is the most obvious second choice. Scott has been trying to tell us that "the baby isn't mine" and that a commonly accepted bit of lore has been wrong since at least Sister Location When MM came out, I don't think the community had realized there was a business partner yet

There is more interesting stuff with the Prototype. Notice that any details that would help us properly identify him are missing? When we upgrade Freddy he gets a purple bowtie and Monty's claws but both are conveniently gone on Prototype (along with his head) The prototype label on his foot also isn't the only change, the entire foot model is different. The claws are longer and it looks more like Monty's model than Freddy's. The green gift also hints at some connection to Monty. On top of that he completely disappears when we put on the mask which no other bot does. Even the "dead" Endos are still visible but Freddy is just gone for some reason. I don't think this is simply a cooler redesign. For example, the Sun/Moon redesign doesn't add anything to the story, it is there because game mechanics need it. Same with Roxy, her face changing shape doesn't really change anything for the story nor does it create any confusion. But the present and "prototype" do. It would be incredibly easy to ensure the player knows who this is (just leave part of the claws on) but they actively choose not to clarify it. Things get even more interesting when you consider some lines from the base game: "I have never been allowed in here before... this must be where I was born. Look at all the endos! They're all the same. Have I always been a Freddy? Am I Monty with a different shell? What if, I am not the first Glamrock Freddy? Are there more of me at other pizzerias? Do we all feel the same? Am I special? If I am mass-produced, am I still art?" Again connection to Monty. And there is this unused line as well: "I hear what some guests say about me. Bad things happened in the past. But that was not me. Those were older models - Flawed. I would never hurt anyone. You know that, right?" While it was removed it does not seem like the entire idea was scrapped. Also, the description of AR golden Bonnie plush says "A prototype?" Coincidence? I Think NOT!
Re: FuhNaff's copycat theory meeting the "recreating the aftons" theory. The copycat would know the story of William Afton if they had played the indie games. If the indie games aren't the FNAF games themselves but the pixelated minigames. The original games were made by Fazbear, that's why they're recreated in Help Wanted, but the minigames that tell the actual story and reference the murders would give a copycat all the info to "try to recreate the Afton Family".
All this stuff is so interesting to me... it's really giving me more and more ideas. I'm writing fanfics where I combine the silver eyes trilogy and the games, but in the one I'm currently writing Henry is a woman named Harriet and William is Charlotte's father, which makes it SO MUCH WORSE when he kills her... HOWEVER, now I decided to write a second one with William as a woman, and Evan is HENRY'S son and not Willow's husband Cole's... my friend said these storylines are better than the canon because of how tragic and dramatic they are!😅😅❤

I actually really like your theory about shadow freddy and shadow bonnie, however unlikely they are. It at least gives an explanation to characters that aren't really explained at all
On the whole age debate of Gregory/Cassie, GGY states that Gregory is 12 (whether you believe that the books are in the game canon or not, names and dates are usually consistent between timelines) and SB takes place about 3 years after that story. Ruin (I believe) takes place about 1-2 years later. While that seems unlikely based on his voice, it's actually not impossible. For example, there's a person I know at college who sounds young and is quite short.
What if security breach is princess quest. Gregory doesn't actually go to the pizzaplex, the pizzaplex we see is in vr and is how vannessa remembers it. Security breach is influenced by three things vannessa, the mimic and glitchtrap. The mimic is used as a shortcut for the vr build, it mimics one things mxis, which is how we get vanny and the behaviour of the animatronics. Everything is trying to stop Gregory from saving Vanessa, apart from Freddy who is somehow separated in some way either is implanted to help Gregory, or is the limited influence that Vanessa has. Glitchtrap is incarnated as vanny and burntrap. This also explains away two vannessas. Then because of all that Gregory witnesses in vr makes them go back to the pizzaplex which is then a pizzaplex a few years later than the one we see in vr. This explains the state of the pizzaplex and Gregory's voice. Then glitchtrap is not necessarily real and just the infection of Vanessa brought to life.

My personal theory is the ending that leads into ruin is actually a mix between both the Burntrap Ending and also save Vanny Ending, rather then one of the actual canon ends. I know its probs not right, and likely has its own conflicting issues but I like it better then just the save Vanny ending personally! (Tho if you wanna go crazy, then im sure you could imagen/try and figure out a Ruin fitting version where it has bits and pieces from most if not every ending. Maybe thats why Greggory can make comics of what happened? Idk lol xD) *EDIT: Made this the epiosde started lol and I just got to the part where Fuhnaff started saying he thinks none/all of the endings were right xD* While im here I might as well share my other theory that SB Burntrap isnt actually Afton, not wholy at least, but the leftover body posessed by his own Agony, since its shown/hinted/theoriezed that Agony survives better then Remnent. Hence why Glitchtrap, who is posessesing Vanessa and a echo of Aftons mind/intent, is trying so hard to fix his body back up and continue his murdery work, and maybe is trying to find a way to get back into his body? Who knows. Either way, loss of the head was an concidence or maybe yoinked by Greggory and/or Vanessa for whatever reason? Maybe to repare freddy?? Idk lol I think the Mimic took back over in the elevator and dropped the elevator as I honestly cant see HOW Greggory would drop the Elevator, he stated he wasnt at the pizzaplex. Though tbh id understand if greggory was the on to do it. It was a tough choice nobody should have to make, let alone a kid ya know? He just decided to do whatever it took to make sure the Mimic stayed down there, which is in character for him; survival comes first. The people making Greg out to be a evil, demonic monster who just liked to cause pain confuse me so much. That is a child in a impossible bad situation who no good answer my guys. I just think some people cant handle characters who arent morally pure, perfect, and completly unproblematic. I personally refuse GGY is canon and that the arcade scores are just a fun easter egg n3cuase if thats canon, then so are all the other animatrnic names, they also played the arcade games too i guess. I know it likely is canon i just dont like it lol. For me; Freddy shorted out becuase Greggory doesnt have a profile becuase Greggory has always snuck in/never came in correctly so he was never signed in with a Guest profile. Freddy spotted him in the crowd and labeled him an intruder becuase he has no profile on record, but becuase he's a kid and they arnt programmed to harm kids (at least when not activlly hunting them via virus/Vanny's influence), his systems freaked out and forced him to reboot into safe mode due to the conflicting programs.

16:00 We know that the Mimic Chase maps perfectly/mirrored(?) onto the Directions Baby gives you to go to the Scooper in Afton's Bunker location. We know there were gas canisters that supposedly were connected to your Oxygen during the :SL Custom Night/Ennard's Escape Ending. But a theory/question I posed to one of my friends recently was this: *How do we KNOW that Mike was in the Bunker AT ALL?* @FuhNaff @RyeToast We FIND the "Recreation" of "Mike's" TV room in the PizzaPlex. We also find recreations of the "Build-a-Mangle" room and another room from Help Wanted. So? Big deal, right? Doesn't mean anything?... But what if it DOES? We still DON'T have a solid time frame for :SL or SB/RUIN. What if Mike found his way to the PizzaPlex, but was hallucinating due to the "GAS LEAKS" that closed down CBPW? The Electrobab specifically targets the Canisters of "Oxygen", and we know Mike went a minimum of a Week before Ennard left him as a husk. There's the possibility that Mike was the higher-up that got Vanessa transferred from her old job at Silver Parasol to Chief Security Officer of the PizzaPlex, Mike was lured by "Henry*", so Mike would have the knowledge/means of luring Vanessa IF he used Greg to his advantage. If Mike was in the PizzaPlex, it would explain WHY/HOW Glitchtrap escaped onto the Freddy's Cartoon we watched in the hype for SB... which also was playing in Mike's room. If Mike learned to build robots, just like his father, he could easily leave a code for said robot to find later. (A child learning to make robots like their father also mirrors Charlie in the novels-she went to College to learn robotics and built the Mimic Heads: Similar to the heads in Afton's Bunker...) Plus, Mike has some knowledge of recording devices, computer understanding, etc. Mike was led on his journey by Cassette Tapes made by "Henry*", but then the lore we get in SB is messages on a watch? AND the Specifically: *"RETRO CDs"* Another possibility being that "Gregory ?" WAS a real kid... AND a robot? But not like how MatPat would have you believe--what if "Gregory ?" did DIE. But then Mike built a robot who could crawl into small spaces, collect the evidence, spread a virus, and overall be an accomplice to ending Afton's "Legacy". It explains his small stature vs his supposed age, the discrepancies in his backstory-highlighted by the Therapy CDs, how Patient 46 both IS and ISN'T Gregory, and even the "S.T.A.F.F. Bot Silo"/"WHY IS I?" sticky note room. Mike's LAST step was to find his father. But how DID he achieve that goal? He had to use the RASQ?/RACQ? child MIMIC bots which acted as lures. Which also appear to be the basis for the Pat-Pat sign bots... **Henry died in the 80's or 90's, so how would he lure everybody back to his trap in Pizza Simulator? Unless FazBear was wiping the slate clean of Afton the WHOLE time?...**
There was something in one of ID's Fantasy newest theories where they pointed out a headless golden freddy statue in the monty gator log ride, and the way they tie it with the missing Bonnie logs, Bonnie murder scene, and how Monty acts around it, makes me inclined to question Proto-Freddy's identity 🤔 Five nights at frebbys is turning into a convoluted game of clue now
Regarding the endings of Security Breach, I think it was @IDsFantasy who mentioned it, but what if the endings ALL happened in some sort of sequence and Gregory is remembering fragments in each loop. The analogy was to a roguelike where everything resets but we (the player) remember and build on what we have to do until we get the 'full' ending. I think they even said that would mean Gregory did actually spend 5 nights at the Pizzaplex, we just don't get a hard reset between each 'night'. Could even link it into Gregory slowly coming out from GGY and remembering more and more of what's actually happening at the 'plex
Puberty can effect the voice in boys between ages 11 - 14 1/2, so he might not have experienced a voice change yet. It could still have only been a few years.
I just had an idea for a theory (I haven’t put much thought into it so there’s probably a lot of stuff that could disprove it but I think it’s an interesting idea) what if charlotte wasn’t the first killed. Ok that sounds really dumb but hear me out Charlotte is the one that give the animatronics life to move around and stuff, and in fnaf 2 the animatronics are completely lifeless until night 2, in fact I don’t think we hear about any kinda weird ghostly stuff from the animatronics until then. And based off of the phone calls it seems like recently someone has been murdered in the fnaf two restaurant and now no previous employees are allowed back inside. So what if like William killed Charlie in fnaf 2, then Henry saw it on a camera, also I just remembered phone guy said something about “someone used one of the suits in the back, a yellow one” so possibly Henry had footage of someone luring kids away in a springlock suit (in the first Freddy’s) but he didn’t know who was wearing it because, at that time, spribglock suits were still in commission. So maybe he put two and two together after watching William kill his daughter. Also that gives a more grounded reason for the puppet to be there keeping Charlie safe if, by that point five kids were already mustered there. I don’t really think this is actually true but I do think it might be worth talking about (also I’m putting it here for now and not emailing the question cus I wanna see everybody else’s opinions on it first)
There is no way any more than a week has passed between Security Breach and Ruin in game. The pizza plex is destroyed by the blob tunneling out. I believe everything in security breach is up in the air and that everything we experienced in the main game is just how Gregory remembers or possibly just an imaginative re-telling.
i like how no one is talking about how the Neutral ending(elevator) cannot co-exist with the scooper ending, like once you get the scooper ending you CANNOT go back to the elevator which is very interesting why that happens. on that note, right after mimic defeats roxy, he mimics roxanne and calls cassie's name in ROXY's voice just before he chases her so the whole "cassie" being called in the credits section might just be mimic calling her using roxanne's voice since she definitely wont be trusting greg anymore. Also the first time you encounter the mimic he stands the same way Greg stands in SB, meaning the mimic beeeeen watching greg through freddy the whole time. The 'prototype' issue i believe base game freddy is a prototype going by the various lines said by him and vanessa. such as "we can slap a new casing on your endo", "what if im not the first glamrock freddy"....also the whole him collapsing on stage going into safe mode, him continously having low battery and so forth.

25:38 I think it was the Mimic most of the time during the escape scene since I think the Mimic might not be able to use the fez wrench to do the mini game since the mini games are all different and so the Mimic AI can not "learn" to do different motions then the ones he has seen and "learned" so the Mimic might not be able to activate the elevator to escape, therefore it needed Cassy to activate the elevator. "Those footprints had to have been either from a non springlock suit that can walk on its own or an illusion." Question about this statement: Does someone inside of the original golden bonnie costume (not the springlock version) count as being in a suit that can "walk on its own"? Because that seems like another option imo. There were still other good points mentioned that make a compelling argument that he wasn't kidnapped (like the established pattern of behavior of "going to that place again"), but I don't think the footprint thing tells you that much.
I think both William and Charlie talk in the Fredbear plush with William in FNaF 4 and Charlie in FNaF World. I think Midnight Motorist is later that night of CC's death, not after the bite, but the night after, as CC stays alive for about 1 more night. One last thing, I think the minigames from FNaF 4 are real, but they were recreated to put Michael inside after the bite.
1:12:15 in reference to "ennard wouldn't have been a thing at that point" it's possible that they could have been when ennard has us in the scooping room they say "we've been out before, but they always put us back" ennard has assembled themselves multiple times, but because they're a huge mess of animatronic parts, they get caught. that's the motivation for scooping micheal, so they have a disguise to leave the building. however, i agree that the remnant experiments probably haven't started yet at that point which means they wouldn't yet be trying to escape as ennard. unless you believe the remnant experiments were happening before crying childs death. either way is a possibility. ALSO the office is not directly connected to funtime freddys room, his place in the breaker room is connected to balloras room. the office is connected to funtime foxys room. (sidenote, its weird that freddy is just shoved into the breaker room right?? it doesn't seem temporary either considering he has a stage in there)
I always figured that the pizzaplex was so messed up because it had been popular once. If it used to be the place to go in that area, I think a lot of the teenagers would flock to leave their mark, take unsold merch, dare each other to stay the night, etc. if I lived in that area I would certainly have a Roxy garbage can for my room - those things look cool

That could mean the blob wasnt what snatched him up at the end and the burn trap ending played out the same as the scoop ending of Ruin just with fear gas making the scooper look like the blob. The games existing as videogames in universe would explain how gregory would have knowlegde of those aspects to be able to hallucinate them.
For redesigns, if Help Wanted 2 was never a thing, for Roxy it would be to fit the faz wrench, and for Sun it's also that case, but you can't use that defense for Freddy, as Roxy and Sun have a reason for it, but there's no point to put the word 'Prototype' on something as a redesign.
I think Cassy beat balloon world, if she was in the daycare a lot and had access to places most people don't. She could get there. And if I remember correctly when Ggy mentions her she playing an arcade game getting mad at it. (If that's her)

Crazy thought that ran through my mind when you were talking about hand unit and help wanted. Consider this not really a theory but food for thought. What if the mimic (if tales isn't in the same universe) is the mimic? Hand unit is something that was first introduced in sister location which was created and run by afton for his experiments on reminent. Hand Unit has seen and knows what afton has done, possibly seen it, or is just simply built around it. I mean Hand unit has shown itself to already be brutal with its recommendations of electrocution of the funtimes. While it's not important it should also be noted that there were other voice options for Hand unit as shown with the angsty teen.
I was sitting on the toilet, when they were talking about whether or not the scooper in Ruin WAS the same scooper in SL, and my mind before they were going to another topic was.. the blueprints.. the blueprints from FNAF 6 confirm that the scooper from Ruin and the scooper from SL are DIFFERENT, ONE WAY, OR ANOTHER, or you could say William used the blueprint of the gas version of the scooper but that’s stupid. Listen to FNAF theorists on the toilet kids, it’ll help you solve the lore.
My personal thought on the scooper. Is that the one we see in Ruin is BIIG. Big enough to just grab the Mimic. For a machine to do what it did to Mike and the sister location animations. It would have to be much smaller.

personally I think the rain in midnight motorist is evidence for the footprints being a springlock suit, as somebody (potentially William) emerges from the bushes in the suit then realises that its going to start to or has begun to rain and quickly takes the suit off explaining the one set of animatronic footprints.
To my knowledge ... Isn't Cassie the only 'Crying Child' in SB and R ? Obviously they've recycled elements from the OG plot all over the place but maybe Cassie and Gregory have been put into a narrative 'blender' from their OG versions and so its why nothing quite 'fits' but everything is infuriatingly close? Is there any chance that there is another person in the ruined Pizzaplex, or is there another explanation for how Roxy got reactivated to save Cassie. I'd also love to hear thoughts on any connections between Sun & Moon and the Puppet since they both kinda serve the same purpose. John pointed out the emphasis on the Puppet in SB and we saw an unusual amount of emphasis on Eclipse in Ruin.
I dearly hope twitter doesn't get their hands on this video, seeing how they treat Mat and John whenever they spitball ideas or make one wacky theory. I can just imagine the amount of tweets with out of context clips from this video being used for a "errm these theorists are cringe and we should hate them forever" narrative. It's a really terrifying concept if you think about it as something that can happen in real life today. I guess there can be some mental illnesses that can lead to you getting lost in VR worlds or games such as VRChat or a possibility to merge into it so deep that you wouldn't be able to perceive real life in any adequate way. It's like... an extreme case of escapism and rejection of reality for people who can't manage their stress.

When it's the grimic talking to Cassie, it's always about him/it-it's always "me me me" ("you have to find ME" "don't stop looking for ME" "save ME Cassie please" "deactivate roxy and save ME" "You saved ME") and never once asked Cassie if she's okay and whatnot
But when it's the real Gregory, all his lines is always expressing his attention to Cassie's well-being ("Cassie are YOU there?" "Cassie is that YOU?" "I've been trying to reach YOU all night!" "Cassie YOU need to get out of there!")
And in the elevator scene-the greg lines are making it all bout "him" again ("I know you did it for ME, to save ME")-exactly like the previous talking patterns grimic has been spewing throughout the whole game to lure Cassie in the basement
ALSO, the way he said "it's been trapped down HERE" instead of "down THERE" could be a hint that was indeed the mimic, it could have slipped and made an error of wording that sentence (cuz technically it is still down here,, standing by the elevator) because the real Gregory just literally said he's not at the pizzaplex moments ago so that's some discrepancy right there, the grammar is not grammaring in the context of the situation at hand

My biggest problem with FNaF is the unreliability with how everything works. For example: We have illusion discs, nightmare gas and others. There is no safe ground to stand on, one moment you think this is a real event, the next is that it was a game in universe the whole time!

Honestly I feel the same. With each game addition the lore just becomes more and more confusing. Ruin just made more questions instead of tying loose ends.
Also, that fnaf 1-6 could just all be false, even though at least some of the games have to be true in some way, shape, or form for the story to make any sense at all.
OH, I forgot to even mention that the VANNI mask can also distort and warp reality visually and physically to the user, and HW2's VANNI mask, you can't even tell you're wearing one!

The guy who freed Gregory from BB Balloon World might have been the dude behind the arcade conspiracy messages since his final one about not being able to “save the princess” is next to the BB arcade machine so he may have beaten the arcade machine before being fired but he couldn’t finish the job, so Gregory picked up where he left off.

8:02 i keep hearing people talking that Roxie mistakes Cassie for Gregory, but right before Roxie says Gregory and starts chasing Cassie, that is when real Gregory (for the first time, i think) trys to contact Cassie. Roxie hears Gregory, then movement, so she assumes Cassie is Gregory. But the first time Cassie actually speaks, that is when Roxie says sorry, i ...error. if it wasnt for Gregory trying to get ahold of Cassie, Roxie wouldnt have attacked Cassie

Rye, please don't forget, that there are TWO elevators. the one that Mimic destroys and the one that Cassie used to come down to the underground lair. thus, even if Gregory dropped the elevator to stop Cassie and Mimic - it would be for the lulz, since Mimic can always use the other elevator to escape the underground.

There’s only one set of Freddy casing, meaning that there can only be one Freddy, Vanessa even mentions IN GAME that they would have to slap Freddy’s casing on a new animatronic. They only have one copy of it, otherwise they would just “pull out the spare”
True!! Then we are back to the same question. What significance does the prototype label have? Was freddy the first animatronic made then copied for Bonnie, Chica Roxy? Or is steel wool saying that there is another version of freddy. Is this the same freddy we see in the security breach and if not where did this one come from?
You're assuming a prototype would be used as a spare or even be compatible with the "real" one. You can have a prototype with real defects while also having only a single release model.
Regarding the walkie talkie range, Pizzaplex probably wants the kid there to play around talking to each other on the walkie talkie, but the signal would be attenuated in such a big building. I.e. it is reasonable that there is a repeater system setup across the pizzaplex for walkie talkie frequencies. It doesn't take much for some signals to leak out and reach Cassie. It also helps that Fazbear Corp is not the kind of entity to give a flying flamingo about FCC's power regulations on civilian radio use.

He is, except he doesn’t really exist on his own (at least as far as we know). Eleanor in the books attaches agony onto a kid and this forms into Shadow Bonnie. Micheal, who we play as in FNAF 2, could be seeing Shadow Bonnie because Baby had put agony/remnant onto him.

It's also possible that we don't play as Mike at all in FNaF 2, if the Logbook's implications that his first Freddy's job was FNaF 1 are any indication.
About the "Prototype" label under Freddy's foot, why couldn't it just be the paint wearing off? I mean, he's been trapped down there for who knows how long and he (allegedly) went through a earthquake. The least I would expect would be for his body to get at least a bit scratched, just because of that. Maybe he was always a prototype, but for some reason they just painted over the label and put him on stage anyway. And now that I think of it, this could also explain why he malfunctioned right at the beginning of SB: he wasn't ready to be performing on stage yet!
that could also explain how he was able to avoid Afton's influence for the majority of the game: being a prototype, he probably also had a less refined, harder to parse code, so hacking into him was probably just literally harder.

I loved the indie game thing right when I saw it, because it had Scott's goofy face, it was a pretty cool idea coming off of FNAF 6, and Help Wanted is amazing.

Into the pit, heard a theory that instead of a time traveling pit, it's sorta like poltergiest and ghost movies were the people being haunted get visions. The kid is getting an extra long vision due to the strong remnant in the pit, showing him how the pit became haunted.

With the fact that Cassie stays in the basement in all 3 endings, there is also the part for the scooper ending where the path to the bad ending's elevator is completely blocked. So she would have nowhere to go (since going backwards through the basement means the furthest she could go is the elevator that leads down to the sinkhole from the raceway, cause it should technically only be able to survive 1 trip down).
Also, with Gregory mentioning they have the building maps...for a cave system...he could be looking at maps of the sister location bunker that just look different in person than on blueprints.
Another thing I thought of for explaining each of the endings of SB is that you witness all the events in the game from Gregory's perspective, so some things might have happened differently and we just see how Gregory sees it. (my brain hurts xD)
What if it's a bit of all of them? The mimic gets scooped, but the elevator still falls. Because Cassie hits her head, she gets "stuck" in her mind.

It’s not consistent mechanic of fnaf per se, but I love that the faz goo is a thing. Non fnaf fans kinda understand what a sound illusion disks could mean, but if you asks them what faz goo is they just short circuit. Time traveling ball pits are a close second though.

And sun drops down into the ball pit at the start of the game, it could have been sun playing the game, sun in ruin atleast has some understanding and clarity of their and moon's situation so they are at least somewhat beyond the corruption the animatronics have
Clearly Mimic had access to employee files and found Cassie's father's file, which probably had information about his daughter, her location, etc. It could be how there were missing children in the first place. Mimic or whoever reaching out to kids from within the pizzaplex, luring them in. This time, he just knew exactly who to contact.
The fact that none of the endings from a major installment can be definitively considered canon lets you know how much of a terrible direction the story is headed lol

To the “why would they sensor Vanessa” question, I originally thought Gregory’s friend was Freddy (who regained more of his memories from when he was in the secret basement).
Mustard Man isn't Afton. Emily is the most obvious second choice. Scott has been trying to tell us that "the baby isn't mine" and that a commonly accepted bit of lore has been wrong since at least Sister Location

There is more interesting stuff with the Prototype.
Notice that any details that would help us properly identify him are missing? When we upgrade Freddy he gets a purple bowtie and Monty's claws but both are conveniently gone on Prototype (along with his head)
The prototype label on his foot also isn't the only change, the entire foot model is different. The claws are longer and it looks more like Monty's model than Freddy's.
The green gift also hints at some connection to Monty.
On top of that he completely disappears when we put on the mask which no other bot does. Even the "dead" Endos are still visible but Freddy is just gone for some reason.
I don't think this is simply a cooler redesign. For example, the Sun/Moon redesign doesn't add anything to the story, it is there because game mechanics need it. Same with Roxy, her face changing shape doesn't really change anything for the story nor does it create any confusion. But the present and "prototype" do. It would be incredibly easy to ensure the player knows who this is (just leave part of the claws on) but they actively choose not to clarify it.
Things get even more interesting when you consider some lines from the base game:
"I have never been allowed in here before... this must be where I was born. Look at all the endos! They're all the same. Have I always been a Freddy? Am I Monty with a different shell? What if, I am not the first Glamrock Freddy? Are there more of me at other pizzerias? Do we all feel the same? Am I special? If I am mass-produced, am I still art?"
Again connection to Monty. And there is this unused line as well:
"I hear what some guests say about me. Bad things happened in the past. But that was not me. Those were older models - Flawed. I would never hurt anyone. You know that, right?"
While it was removed it does not seem like the entire idea was scrapped.
Also, the description of AR golden Bonnie plush says "A prototype?" Coincidence? I Think NOT!
Re: FuhNaff's copycat theory meeting the "recreating the aftons" theory. The copycat would know the story of William Afton if they had played the indie games. If the indie games aren't the FNAF games themselves but the pixelated minigames. The original games were made by Fazbear, that's why they're recreated in Help Wanted, but the minigames that tell the actual story and reference the murders would give a copycat all the info to "try to recreate the Afton Family".
All this stuff is so interesting to me... it's really giving me more and more ideas. I'm writing fanfics where I combine the silver eyes trilogy and the games, but in the one I'm currently writing Henry is a woman named Harriet and William is Charlotte's father, which makes it SO MUCH WORSE when he kills her... HOWEVER, now I decided to write a second one with William as a woman, and Evan is HENRY'S son and not Willow's husband Cole's... my friend said these storylines are better than the canon because of how tragic and dramatic they are!😅😅❤

IDFantasy actually had a great theory on the canonicity of the endings the other day. I really enjoyed her take on the endings and the possibility of all the ones he drew about being canon.
At 36:24 Toast asks, "who beat the balloon world machine?" is it possible it was Cassie? We know she spent a lot of time in the daycare. As I'm typing this though, I'm wondering why Sun/Moon/Eclipse wouldn't know her by name...
I actually really like your theory about shadow freddy and shadow bonnie, however unlikely they are. It at least gives an explanation to characters that aren't really explained at all
I think Tangle exists regardless of what ending happens, it's just chilling in the hole, and other endings can or cannot happen
On the whole age debate of Gregory/Cassie, GGY states that Gregory is 12 (whether you believe that the books are in the game canon or not, names and dates are usually consistent between timelines) and SB takes place about 3 years after that story. Ruin (I believe) takes place about 1-2 years later. While that seems unlikely based on his voice, it's actually not impossible. For example, there's a person I know at college who sounds young and is quite short.
What if security breach is princess quest. Gregory doesn't actually go to the pizzaplex, the pizzaplex we see is in vr and is how vannessa remembers it. Security breach is influenced by three things vannessa, the mimic and glitchtrap. The mimic is used as a shortcut for the vr build, it mimics one things mxis, which is how we get vanny and the behaviour of the animatronics. Everything is trying to stop Gregory from saving Vanessa, apart from Freddy who is somehow separated in some way either is implanted to help Gregory, or is the limited influence that Vanessa has. Glitchtrap is incarnated as vanny and burntrap. This also explains away two vannessas. Then because of all that Gregory witnesses in vr makes them go back to the pizzaplex which is then a pizzaplex a few years later than the one we see in vr. This explains the state of the pizzaplex and Gregory's voice. Then glitchtrap is not necessarily real and just the infection of Vanessa brought to life.

My personal theory is the ending that leads into ruin is actually a mix between both the Burntrap Ending and also save Vanny Ending, rather then one of the actual canon ends.
I know its probs not right, and likely has its own conflicting issues but I like it better then just the save Vanny ending personally!
(Tho if you wanna go crazy, then im sure you could imagen/try and figure out a Ruin fitting version where it has bits and pieces from most if not every ending. Maybe thats why Greggory can make comics of what happened? Idk lol xD)

While im here I might as well share my other theory that SB Burntrap isnt actually Afton, not wholy at least, but the leftover body posessed by his own Agony, since its shown/hinted/theoriezed that Agony survives better then Remnent.
Hence why Glitchtrap, who is posessesing Vanessa and a echo of Aftons mind/intent, is trying so hard to fix his body back up and continue his murdery work, and maybe is trying to find a way to get back into his body? Idk but yee ^-^

Prototype Freddy is a exactly that, a spare Freddy they had around just incase somthing happened, hell maybe it was even a stand in when the pizzaplex still thought they were gonna reopen things? Who knows. Either way, loss of the head was an concidence or maybe yoinked by Greggory and/or Vanessa for whatever reason? Maybe to repare freddy?? Idk lol
I think the Mimic took back over in the elevator and dropped the elevator as I honestly cant see HOW Greggory would drop the Elevator, he stated he wasnt at the pizzaplex. Though tbh id understand if greggory was the on to do it. It was a tough choice nobody should have to make, let alone a kid ya know? He just decided to do whatever it took to make sure the Mimic stayed down there, which is in character for him; survival comes first. The people making Greg out to be a evil, demonic monster who just liked to cause pain confuse me so much. That is a child in a impossible bad situation who no good answer my guys. I just think some people cant handle characters who arent morally pure, perfect, and completly unproblematic.
I personally refuse GGY is canon and that the arcade scores are just a fun easter egg n3cuase if thats canon, then so are all the other animatrnic names, they also played the arcade games too i guess. I know it likely is canon i just dont like it lol.
For me; Freddy shorted out becuase Greggory doesnt have a profile becuase Greggory has always snuck in/never came in correctly so he was never signed in with a Guest profile. Freddy spotted him in the crowd and labeled him an intruder becuase he has no profile on record, but becuase he's a kid and they arnt programmed to harm kids (at least when not activlly hunting them via virus/Vanny's influence), his systems freaked out and forced him to reboot into safe mode due to the conflicting programs.

We know that the Mimic Chase maps perfectly/mirrored(?) onto the Directions Baby gives you to go to the Scooper in Afton's Bunker location.
We know there were gas canisters that supposedly were connected to your Oxygen during the :SL Custom Night/Ennard's Escape Ending.
But a theory/question I posed to one of my friends recently was this:
*How do we KNOW that Mike was in the Bunker AT ALL?*

We FIND the "Recreation" of "Mike's" TV room in the PizzaPlex.
We also find recreations of the "Build-a-Mangle" room and another room from Help Wanted.
So? Big deal, right? Doesn't mean anything?... But what if it DOES?
We still DON'T have a solid time frame for :SL or SB/RUIN.
What if Mike found his way to the PizzaPlex, but was hallucinating due to the "GAS LEAKS" that closed down CBPW? The Electrobab specifically targets the Canisters of "Oxygen", and we know Mike went a minimum of a Week before Ennard left him as a husk.
There's the possibility that Mike was the higher-up that got Vanessa transferred from her old job at Silver Parasol to Chief Security Officer of the PizzaPlex, Mike was lured by "Henry*", so Mike would have the knowledge/means of luring Vanessa IF he used Greg to his advantage.
If Mike was in the PizzaPlex, it would explain WHY/HOW Glitchtrap escaped onto the Freddy's Cartoon we watched in the hype for SB... which also was playing in Mike's room.
If Mike learned to build robots, just like his father, he could easily leave a code for said robot to find later.
(A child learning to make robots like their father also mirrors Charlie in the novels-she went to College to learn robotics and built the Mimic Heads: Similar to the heads in Afton's Bunker...)
Plus, Mike has some knowledge of recording devices, computer understanding, etc.
Mike was led on his journey by Cassette Tapes made by "Henry*", but then the lore we get in SB is messages on a watch? AND the Specifically: *"RETRO CDs"*
Another possibility being that "Gregory ?" WAS a real kid... AND a robot?
But not like how MatPat would have you believe--what if "Gregory ?" did DIE. But then Mike built a robot who could crawl into small spaces, collect the evidence, spread a virus, and overall be an accomplice to ending Afton's "Legacy".
It explains his small stature vs his supposed age, the discrepancies in his backstory-highlighted by the Therapy CDs, how Patient 46 both IS and ISN'T Gregory, and even the "S.T.A.F.F. Bot Silo"/"WHY IS I?" sticky note room.
Mike's LAST step was to find his father. But how DID he achieve that goal? He had to use the RASQ?/RACQ? child MIMIC bots which acted as lures. Which also appear to be the basis for the Pat-Pat sign bots...

There was something in one of ID's Fantasy newest theories where they pointed out a headless golden freddy statue in the monty gator log ride, and the way they tie it with the missing Bonnie logs, Bonnie murder scene, and how Monty acts around it, makes me inclined to question Proto-Freddy's identity 🤔 Five nights at frebbys is turning into a convoluted game of clue now
Regarding the endings of Security Breach, I think it was @IDsFantasy who mentioned it, but what if the endings ALL happened in some sort of sequence and Gregory is remembering fragments in each loop. The analogy was to a roguelike where everything resets but we (the player) remember and build on what we have to do until we get the 'full' ending. I think they even said that would mean Gregory did actually spend 5 nights at the Pizzaplex, we just don't get a hard reset between each 'night'.
Could even link it into Gregory slowly coming out from GGY and remembering more and more of what's actually happening at the 'plex
Puberty can effect the voice in boys between ages 11 - 14 1/2, so he might not have experienced a voice change yet. It could still have only been a few years.
I just had an idea for a theory (I haven’t put much thought into it so there’s probably a lot of stuff that could disprove it but I think it’s an interesting idea) what if charlotte wasn’t the first killed. Ok that sounds really dumb but hear me out Charlotte is the one that give the animatronics life to move around and stuff, and in fnaf 2 the animatronics are completely lifeless until night 2, in fact I don’t think we hear about any kinda weird ghostly stuff from the animatronics until then. And based off of the phone calls it seems like recently someone has been murdered in the fnaf two restaurant and now no previous employees are allowed back inside. So what if like William killed Charlie in fnaf 2, then Henry saw it on a camera, also I just remembered phone guy said something about “someone used one of the suits in the back, a yellow one” so possibly Henry had footage of someone luring kids away in a springlock suit (in the first Freddy’s) but he didn’t know who was wearing it because, at that time, spribglock suits were still in commission. So maybe he put two and two together after watching William kill his daughter. Also that gives a more grounded reason for the puppet to be there keeping Charlie safe if, by that point five kids were already mustered there. I don’t really think this is actually true but I do think it might be worth talking about (also I’m putting it here for now and not emailing the question cus I wanna see everybody else’s opinions on it first)

There is no way any more than a week has passed between Security Breach and Ruin in game. The pizza plex is destroyed by the blob tunneling out. I believe everything in security breach is up in the air and that everything we experienced in the main game is just how Gregory remembers or possibly just an imaginative re-telling.
i like how no one is talking about how the Neutral ending(elevator) cannot co-exist with the scooper ending, like once you get the scooper ending you CANNOT go back to the elevator which is very interesting why that happens.
on that note, right after mimic defeats roxy, he mimics roxanne and calls cassie's name in ROXY's voice just before he chases her so the whole "cassie" being called in the credits section might just be mimic calling her using roxanne's voice since she definitely wont be trusting greg anymore.
Also the first time you encounter the mimic he stands the same way Greg stands in SB, meaning the mimic beeeeen watching greg through freddy the whole time.
The 'prototype' issue i believe base game freddy is a prototype going by the various lines said by him and vanessa. such as "we can slap a new casing on your endo", "what if im not the first glamrock freddy"....also the whole him collapsing on stage going into safe mode, him continously having low battery and so forth.

25:38 I think it was the Mimic most of the time during the escape scene since I think the Mimic might not be able to use the fez wrench to do the mini game since the mini games are all different and so the Mimic AI can not "learn" to do different motions then the ones he has seen and "learned" so the Mimic might not be able to activate the elevator to escape, therefore it needed Cassy to activate the elevator. Also kinda felt that when you get to the elevator mini game the Mimic seems to take its sweet time to get to you

Question about this statement: Does someone inside of the original golden bonnie costume (not the springlock version) count as being in a suit that can "walk on its own"? Because that seems like another option imo. There were still other good points mentioned that make a compelling argument that he wasn't kidnapped (like the established pattern of behavior of "going to that place again"), but I don't think the footprint thing tells you that much.

I think both William and Charlie talk in the Fredbear plush with William in FNaF 4 and Charlie in FNaF World. I think Midnight Motorist is later that night of CC's death, not after the bite, but the night after, as CC stays alive for about 1 more night. One last thing, I think the minigames from FNaF 4 are real, but they were recreated to put Michael inside after the bite.

when ennard has us in the scooping room they say "we've been out before, but they always put us back"
ennard has assembled themselves multiple times, but because they're a huge mess of animatronic parts, they get caught. that's the motivation for scooping micheal, so they have a disguise to leave the building.
however, i agree that the remnant experiments probably haven't started yet at that point which means they wouldn't yet be trying to escape as ennard. unless you believe the remnant experiments were happening before crying childs death. either way is a possibility.
ALSO the office is not directly connected to funtime freddys room, his place in the breaker room is connected to balloras room. the office is connected to funtime foxys room.
(sidenote, its weird that freddy is just shoved into the breaker room right?? it doesn't seem temporary either considering he has a stage in there)
I always figured that the pizzaplex was so messed up because it had been popular once. If it used to be the place to go in that area, I think a lot of the teenagers would flock to leave their mark, take unsold merch, dare each other to stay the night, etc. if I lived in that area I would certainly have a Roxy garbage can for my room - those things look cool

15:00 what if it is fear gas that is making the mimic look like burntrap? That could mean the blob wasnt what snatched him up at the end and the burn trap ending played out the same as the scoop ending of Ruin just with fear gas making the scooper look like the blob.
The games existing as videogames in universe would explain how gregory would have knowlegde of those aspects to be able to hallucinate them.

For redesigns, if Help Wanted 2 was never a thing, for Roxy it would be to fit the faz wrench, and for Sun it's also that case, but you can't use that defense for Freddy, as Roxy and Sun have a reason for it, but there's no point to put the word 'Prototype' on something as a redesign.
I think Cassy beat balloon world, if she was in the daycare a lot and had access to places most people don't. She could get there. And if I remember correctly when Ggy mentions her she playing an arcade game getting mad at it. (If that's her)

This really had me thinking, and I loved the extremely interesting thoughts on the questions! Made me take a second and third look at things.
Crazy thought that ran through my mind when you were talking about hand unit and help wanted. Consider this not really a theory but food for thought.
What if the mimic (if tales isn't in the same universe) is the mimic? Hand unit is something that was first introduced in sister location which was created and run by afton for his experiments on reminent. Hand Unit has seen and knows what afton has done, possibly seen it, or is just simply built around it. I mean Hand unit has shown itself to already be brutal with its recommendations of electrocution of the funtimes. While it's not important it should also be noted that there were other voice options for Hand unit as shown with the angsty teen.

I was sitting on the toilet, when they were talking about whether or not the scooper in Ruin WAS the same scooper in SL, and my mind before they were going to another topic was.. the blueprints.. the blueprints from FNAF 6 confirm that the scooper from Ruin and the scooper from SL are DIFFERENT, ONE WAY, OR ANOTHER, or you could say William used the blueprint of the gas version of the scooper but that’s stupid. Listen to FNAF theorists on the toilet kids, it’ll help you solve the lore.
My personal thought on the scooper. Is that the one we see in Ruin is BIIG. Big enough to just grab the Mimic. For a machine to do what it did to Mike and the sister location animations. It would have to be much smaller.

personally I think the rain in midnight motorist is evidence for the footprints being a springlock suit, as somebody (potentially William) emerges from the bushes in the suit then realises that its going to start to or has begun to rain and quickly takes the suit off explaining the one set of animatronic footprints.
The "Im gregory" that the mimic does is the same one from security breach when freddy ask who he is.
I think the other reason why Mimic being the one in the sticky note room doesn’t make sense is because why then name the door “Charlie door”?
To my knowledge ... Isn't Cassie the only 'Crying Child' in SB and R ? Obviously they've recycled elements from the OG plot all over the place but maybe Cassie and Gregory have been put into a narrative 'blender' from their OG versions and so its why nothing quite 'fits' but everything is infuriatingly close? Also i had a rambly theory of my own i think it was on GTLive video..or might've been on one of you two's i can't remember...i should track that down as i still think the nonsense i thought of had legs to it. .
Is there any chance that there is another person in the ruined Pizzaplex, or is there another explanation for how Roxy got reactivated to save Cassie.
I'd also love to hear thoughts on any connections between Sun & Moon and the Puppet since they both kinda serve the same purpose. John pointed out the emphasis on the Puppet in SB and we saw an unusual amount of emphasis on Eclipse in Ruin.
When john mentions how a part of all the endings are cannon, what if that other person is the other vanny from the fire escape ending.

Being able to play as an animatronic and hunt other people as said animatronic would be so cool. Now idk what kind of story could be added, but maybe it could be a "just for funsies" game.
