This is the first and only Zelda game to make me quit outright. I've had no desire to try again. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the 3rd form. I shot his arm off but his other arm, no matter what I did, would NOT stop blocking the door to get inside of it. And not just the first time, but the second, third, fourth, tenth. I have no clue how the Hell he got into it in this video but it would not work for me. After seeing the ending here it's not worth the hassle at all.
@devanov3103No no, he has a point. I played through the game twice and beat it twice, but only Vaati made me angry when playing. It is not a fun fight, and it is the furthest thing from fair, considering you’ve got to run through the gauntlet and fight Vaati all over again if you die during the fight. Granted I had little trouble dealing with Vaati himself, it was the third fight in the gauntlet that gave me hell. I wanna slap whoever thought it was a good idea to throw three Darknuts at you, one of which is a damn elite, during a time crunch gauntlet!

played alot of final boss fights in legend of zeldas honestly I consider this one of the hardest to beat to win a mini boss battles then 3 final boss battles to win I had a hard time as a kid beating his vaati's final foam having to start all over when losing was so annoying just to beat this game hands down one of the best zelda hand held games
It was nice for Vaati's second form to always have his outer eyes form right next to each other. You could easily figure out where they were after a few guesses, wrong or right. I wonder if anyone could hack the game to make Vaati's eyes appear in random positions to make the fight harder.
I honestly dont think it is even possible attacking in Four Different Directions unless you have learned the Super Spin Attack or without the clones to vanish
This is the only time I remember screaming at a video game. The battle is sooo long and so brutal. I died over and over again. That was too many hours spent staring at a flying eyeball. And now I just found out that I could have healed part way through...poor me circa 2010 had no clue.
That second form is a prime of example of a game designed not to be challenging but cheap as fuck just to completely piss the player off. The amount of times I hit the edge of the screen and lost my other Links was infuriating. Also could it have killed them to have hearts in some of the spikes?!

The only thing I dislike about this boss is phase 3 where you need to stun his arms with the cane. How are you supposed to know to use this item on his arms to stun them? Pretty bad design imo as you don't get a single visual hint nor does your hat tell you anything. Otherwise great boss tho
Same with the bugs with the dark orb. At last that final boss requires more thinking than Light Bow + sword mashing like most Ganon battles in the franchise...
The green cap guy told me to use one of the tools I got. Which then I first tried is the cane. Even with that hint, the eyes in the arm I didn't know I had to hit a specific one. That's why I went on this video lol
Vaati is the one. We all have our Zelda boss that just kicks our ass every time. I do not get beaten by Zelda bosses. I usually figure them out quick enough to be at them first try. I can never prepare enough for Vaati. It is the darknuts before I get there. They always do a number on me. This video helps. There are elements I didn't consider. Vaati is a bitch to beat though.

This low key gotta be one of the worst final bosses in the series it’s so directionless who would ever think to use the cane or that only the electric balls from the tiny eyes are the only ones you can deflect it’s so annoying
This entire game is almost insulting easy and Vaati is no exception. I don't understand what people could find hard about this fight other than I guess figuring out using the Gust Jar and Cane of Pacci when needed. Here's some tips that weren't in this video: 1. Hold the Gust Jar over Vaati while the first form spawns its minions to remove the dark barriers from all four at once. 2. Shooting the Gust Jar puts out the fireballs the first form uses before they can hit you. 3. For the third form, keep your sword charged but don't split until Vaati starts preparing the four orb projectile attack. Splitting before that leaves you a sitting duck to the electric attack since Link's copies can get you hit by them too. The Great Spin Attack also completely shuts down the Dark Nut trio before Vaati. Just spam it and you can maneuver around to hit them in the sides immediately after they block with their shields.
This boss sequence is dogshit: This many cryptic phases without a save point, sending you fully back to a frustrating timed sequence, and the four sword duplication mechanic was never well-designed in this game and simply served to waste time and force repeating the same thing over and over. Ruins the entire game.
I'd say Ganondorf because he's way more persistent and his first incarnation (Demise) was the one who put the curse on Link, Zelda and himself to be reborn so he could beat them one day. Vaati is pretty evil but mostly puts people to stone instead of killing them and has a more likely potential for redemption (as shown in the MC manga).

Hearts ARE dropped by the spikes sometimes, it's just pretty rare. Even more rare are useless bomb drops.
