E168 was a produced when the pcb didn’t recognise an actual fault, baxi produced a set of tests generally to do with earthing of the burner door/electrodes but have to agree,E168 was a faulty pcb
I remember going to a Duotec that had had 5 pcbs in as many months due to E168 fault , turned out to be the control switch that turned the boiler on and off
