  • After weeks of working on this front axle we finally have the parts to put it back together. Sealing it up with upgraded hardware, a Spartan Locker, and 26 Spline Longfield axle shafts, I'm confident this axle will hold up to our abuse... for a while!

    The front 26 spline axles will be fine..I have 26 spline trail tough front axles, arb, 5:12 gear, ball gussets, housing truss from Trail Gear for over 12 yrs running a 35" MTR kevlar.. The problem you will have is the rear axle shafts. I broke stockers with 31" tires, then Cal Mini 4130 broke Rea axles mainly the short side,, then I tried cryo treatment still broke axles, then hybrid housing and still broke axles, then full width sidekick broken axles, then Summers Brothers 1 off 26 spline 4340 on 35's and broke axles and I am not hard on equipment, I have the philosophy when you hop you stop ..The Summers Brothers broke leaving a stop sign making a left hand turn on my way to work.. Now running Trail Gear Longfield 26 spline 4340 rears til I can afford Toyota which I should have done a long time ago but was trying to stay Sami.. If u have any questions please reply..

    Just start with 33s the ground clearance is so worth it.

      I've got to start with 31s so the parts are on par with the tire size. I want see how the parts are going to handle some hard wheeling as is!

      Suburban/Samurai combo! I hope you guys do get something again! The Samurai is a budget friendly option, if only you could get your hands on the lwb version for the family...

    why would you put the spool in the rear wouldn't it be more effective in the front ?that way you can unlock your hubs and drive to the dirt and then lock the hubs and use the spartan posi in the rear so it don't kill your tires or brake a axel !!

      I talk about it a little more in my locker install video. Really hard to turn with a spool in front and hard on components. I wheel pretty slow and even I wouldn't have time to or want to unlock/lock hubs. The spartan front can stay locked and there is enough play in it that its easier on parts. After wheeling this thing a bunch I think spartan front and rear would've been best for me.

    Where’d you buy those gold hub dial bolts?

      Those were part of a hub hardware kit from Lowrangeoffroad. 🤙🏻

    Are you planning on running any gear reduction with the larger tires?

    • @FortuneOffRoad
      @FortuneOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of my gearing is coming from the Sumo 6.4:1 in the transfer case. When I go up to 33s I'll probably go lower in the axle gears. 🤙🏻

    Great series, very informative, however, I, sadly, had to stop watching because the intro music volume was waaaay too loud.

      Thanks dude! These were some of my first videos. Definitely cringeworthy for me to watch, but oh well. Check out our current stuff. We did Zukicon this year and I think it was a cool video. 🤙🏻

    Bruh... you paid hundreds of dollars for 26 spline front axles and you're suggesting to save $18 for bushings? If you gonna do it all, then DO IT ALL. WTF are you complaining about $10 here... $20 there.......?These sh*ts are 30 years old. Just replace the thing as you do it. $20, $30, $100 aint that much....

      Everyone has a different budget, my dude. There are 2 bushings so it was $36. Why spend $36 when you don't have to? $10, $20, $30 ,$100, it adds up quick. The little things are what get you. If I can save it, I most definitely will. 🤙🏻
