Very nice find Alex for $200. With the low hours , I would think it would easily bring $2000. A few parts and your spit shine and your into some hundreds of dollars of profit!! 👍👏🇺🇸
I don't know the value of these older Exmark zero turns. I'm not even sure how much this mower would've been in 2004. But you did a good job getting this one running again.
Big time score! Have you ever taken apart a Briggs Vanguard before? I'm replacing a blown connecting rod on a 18hp v-twin Vanguard and it seems to be the most complicated engine I've ever worked on! I hope mine runs on two cylinders when I'm done because it seems like they are very nice.
I have not taken one apart and have only had one other one that I did some carb work on a few years ago. I wish I could be more helpful but I have high confidence in your ability, and look forward to seeing it run. Thanks for stopping by 😎😎
Great video! For Future reference make sure you use the larger oil filters on that briggs vanguard style because if you put a short one on their it can block the oil nipple hole and starve the motor for oil I’ve seen it happen to some briggs vanguards and kohler courages! Peace!
Thank you. I’ll make sure to get the larger one installed before I sell this one. I looked at the length of the threads on the engine side and it seemed like plenty of clearance, but better safe than sorry.
Awesome Alex!!! As I've said before, your small engine skills are absolutely amazing. The amount of time and detail you put into fixing up equipment is impressive. I would without a doubt buy any piece of lawn equipment from you. I was super happy to see a notification that you posted a vid, it sucks when you don't post for a while, I do understand you're busy and your life doesn't revolve around TH-cam.. Thank you Alex for all the content you make for us. Keep up the amazing work my friend
Thank you so much!!! I have mental struggles that I don’t really talk about and it’s been hard this summer to find time to make videos. I get a lot of rude comments as well or people thinking I’m lying so it’s a bit discouraging. Just doing my best to put together some videos and have some good running mowers for people to buy. Thank you very much for always being so kind and supportive. 😎🇺🇸

Hello fro North Carolina. I found your video on adjusting the valves on a Briggs/ Troy walk behind mower and I appreciate the tutorial video. This mower still cranks and runs great but it has around 50 hours on it so I figured I better check the valves when I service it before I put it away for the winter. Alex what a deal on the ExMark mower. Glad it wasn't much wrong. I think you can easily get between 1800.00 to 2000.00 for it. Thanks for taking the time to produce the videos. You be safe and God bless.
Well done Alex! That’s a really nice machine. My problem is when they turn out this nice and I decide to keep them 😅 Like I really need 6 personal mowers
Great work on this project ur going to be more than even on the buy and the finished product. An other projects done and ready for sale have safe and blessed day
Great video. Really wanted to hear the blades at the end. Sounded a little rough when you first started it up but seemed to calm as the grease went to work. Thanks!
Awesome job how good are Briggs vanguard and do they call it that because it’s Briggs and vanguard I have a huge yard and I use a Troy bilt xp walk behind with. 7 horse power I got it for 125 bucks and I had to clean carb and fuel jet think for teaching me from your video I have learned so much thinks ❤
It truly was but I can’t go back and prove that it wasn’t. I showed in the video where I had painted the back and the muffler. I ran this machine for over an hour in the yard and cooked off the paint. It wasn’t high heat paint like I should have used. Thank you for stopping by.
@@freedommowers420 I did a muffler on a generator with high heat primer and topcoat. Cooked in the oven per instructions. Ran it and it still looks and feels brand new! Makes me wonder about manufacturers.
Those tires look a lot more than 300hrs. I like those $tsco batteries. I have bought a few of them. I am amazed it ran like this. How long did it sit with gas in the tank and carb? This doesnt make any sense.
I don’t know the true back story on this mower. The body and underside looked great considering it’s a 20 year old machine. The hour meter was working so I’m only assuming it’s correct. The tires deff had taken a beating so I will never know. They had this mower running at the some point last year and had the electrical issues. They only used non ethanol fuel from what he told me. Seems to be the only thing that would have saved the carb from being trashed.

I have a battery from 2019 that is still going strong on one of my riding mowers. I had a battery from 2011 that ran one of my others until it broke down in 2020 and I left it sitting. I just stick to the AutoZone batteries. They hold up really well. The one in my daily driver is 11 years old and still works fine.
Well.... I think you made your 2K. That's awesome dude. I'm happy for you. I don't have the trailer or resources to get into the higher value machines, but I have had some decent scores lately. I recently had a Craftsman R1000 that I got $500 for. I got it for free, and I only had to put a tire and steering gear on it, so I banked a little over $400. You should easily make $1000 on this one. You did get lucky that you didn't have to go through the electrical though. I would have been chasing that for months, lol.
I know this thing doesn't have a ton of hours on it, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to check the valve clearances. With this being a 20 year old machine, that could definitely be what was making it hard to start.
I think you'll struggle to get top $$ with those spindle bearings roaring like that, as much margin you have in this machine I think i'd go ahead and replace the bearings
Agree. I have already changed the bearing for the spindles. They got quieter after greasing but I wanted it to be in perfect operating condition for the buyer. Sold it last weekend for $2000
I know I put a comment up already, but I put another one up yeah I don’t know what happened. You don’t haven’t put one up so long don’t take so long. I ain’t a young chick. I’m 62. I don’t know how much longer I got lol I’d like to see some more before you know what I mean, I love you. 👍🫵🪨
