Great job bringing that neglected mower back to life. Very satisfying to see it wake up again. It must be even more satisfying when you aee the tech who does the waking up work.
Thank you. I’m hoping people will enjoy the series. The next mower is going to be that crusty bolens riding mower. It’s going to be a challenge to get it up to par.
Looking forward to this series, Alex. As for this mower, once confirmed it was a runner I would have pressure washed top and bottom before tearing it down. Much easier to work on and easier to see flaws from the start. Then I don’t mind bringing it inside to work on - all the debris is outside the shop.
I like this challange. Hope this rider keeps you on the positive side when you go to sell it. As in the push mower covering the cost to get it up and running.
That was a startling transformation from what you got in the beginning. Your patience with the float and the carburetor was a good learning exercise. I’d forgotten you can use AT fluid to spruce up the appearance. Great video! Thanks!
I got one of these for free last fall, cleaned it up and rebuilt the carb and know it's my main mower I use. Love the trigger for self propelling. It works great!
You have a great mower for resale. I bought that model troy built 7 years ago and gave 349.00 for it, priced one last year.....nearly 450.00. It wont stay around for 120.00..... me, I would ask 175.00 and could always go down a bit......great series!!!!
I also agree - $120 isn’t enough for that mower. I’d probably start at $200 and go down to $175. If you sell it for $120 someone could flip it immediately for more money!
Hey you polished that one right up and got it running like a top. Just like i knew you would. I think the bolens would be a great next step. I can't wait to see you tackle that one. You're very talented Alex. Keep up the good work buddy.
The mower came out great Alex! Those are easy sells for me as they are resale red. I some times take all the wheel covers off and sell them with black wheels. The Bolens is going to be quite a challenge after you get all the green moss off of it, but you know it just needs alittle air in the tire and some fresh gas.😂 It ran fine last season!! 🤣😂🙃
Alex, wow man just wow!! You really made that mower look great again. You do awesome work my friend. Congratulations on the 5k plus subs. You definitely deserve them. Keep up the amazing content.
Man, I wish I could just find a single free or cheap mower around me. Seems like everyone is scooping them up on Marketplace before I even get a chance. Hoping for a side-of-the-road special one day...
The market is only going to get harder to come by free machines. Peoples are realizing how much new equipment is and following the outrageous pricing on the marketplace.
I'm in that group who doesn't want to bother with new, mainly price, but also quality-wise, new-vs-old. Seems the old stuff is usually built better. Right below price for me is learning to fix. I learned from your videos as well, and hands on fixing is what I'm hoping to do!
Theres a ton of free mowers in the durham wake county areas Some i get to hold and pick up after my shift and some i dont since i have 13hr shift its first come But theres many cheap ones but sell quick
Just joined your channel and started flipping mowers as a side hustle last year and love it !!! I get mowers for free or buy them for $20 then sell them 100-190!!! Will watch out for you Videos !! Where are you located ? I’m in Massachusetts .. Joe
Why do people spend money on stuff if they are not going to maintain it? I got into small engines and taught myself a few years ago. I have never paid for a lawn mower in my entire adult life, and I am over 40. Every single mower I have ever owned has been one that somebody threw out. I currently have 9 projects going myself right now, lol. Every single mower I get has just been neglected. If people took care of their stuff, they would save a lot of time and money in the long run.
Here we go! Well on your way to upgrading a self propelled to a zero turn. Well done brother!
Great job bringing that neglected mower back to life. Very satisfying to see it wake up again. It must be even more satisfying when you aee the tech who does the waking up work.
This has easily become my favorite channel on TH-cam. Keep up the good work Alex!
Looking forward to the next video. Your videos are always enjoyable - and informative. Let’s parlay this stuff to $2,000 !!!!!!
Thank you. I’m hoping people will enjoy the series. The next mower is going to be that crusty bolens riding mower. It’s going to be a challenge to get it up to par.

Great job bringing her back. You probably know, Amazon has the best prices on the Quantum Air filters. Approx. $2.80 ea.
I love that Briggs 6.25 engine. Those things are bulletproof, and they are so easy to work on. They are one of my favorites to mess around with.

Start at 170 and go to 150 with trade in mower
Definitely think you can ask $150 to start for a self propelled and easily get $130
I think this challenge will be really cool Alex. I was laughing about that Bolens though. I’m like I’ve seen worse and I’m sure you have too 😂

I do basicly the same thing, but I collect vintage mowers. I flip the free and cheap newer ones and use the $ to buy ones I like
Another good video as always, look forward to seeing what you do on the Bolens recondition :-)

The day of free is over now for sure
There asking 100 for a pile of junk on facebook now, I don’t even try to buy anything now
Check out local scrap yards. Around here they sell complete mowers between 15-20. I’ve picked up some nice ones

Any idea why whenever I screw the main jet/ bowl screw back in there’s something at the bottom that stops it from screwing in?

@@freedommowers420 nice i have 4 pushers im reworkin atm ... one is a nice older toro ...SP hope to get 200 outa it ..
😮
Does atf make the mower shine more
Or oil works also?
I tried ATF for a while but never really liked it. I’ve been using WD-40 recently and like it a lot more.
Did you ever get the belts and blades for dollar at tsc or no
I did not. I went the next day and they didn’t have anything for mowers by the register unfortunately.
