Uncle Jimmy took me to Jimmy's back in 1995. He grew up in Philly and bragged it was the best. He passed in Nov of 2021 in Florida and was buried in Newark. Honoring him we stopped off at Jimmy's after the funeral Service and had a Philly. I chased it down with Yuengling, brewed by the America's Oldest Brewery. Here's to you Jimmy!

Jim’s is touristy and overpriced BUT, they do make a good cheesesteak, at least better than the other touristy spots. The thing is in Philly you can get a really good cheesesteak almost anywhere, so places like Jim’s, Pats, Genos, etc. aren’t much of a draw to locals unless you’re hammered late night and need sustenances.

Im from philly lived here my whole life (24 years and counting) and Ive been here before tried all the “famous” cheesesteak places Geno’s, Pats, and here, but non compared to Delassandro’s Cheesesteaks they are by far one of the best in Philly also another would be Max’s Steaks highly recommend both, thank me later :) also pro tip if your taking them to go for later def dont wait more than 5-10 min before eating because they will get soggy and fast! always eat them asap trust me lol

I like to put the whiz, cherry pepper relish and mayo on the bun and make sure that a bunch of the hot grease hits all that when you put the meat in.
