Where I would travel for food: Philly cheesesteak, Oklahoma City Cattlemen's steak house, New Orleans (everything). Next spring, we are flying (or by train!) to the Big Easy to put on some weight.
Something negative: while in business, you never criticize the competition. It will cost you goodwill amongst your customers. In fact, when you criticize other people, it implies that you will speak ill about the very people you are talking to. Folks need to get the word "like" out of their vocabulary, you sound uneducated and child-like. (signed, the language police).
Jim’s is great , I love it there but there are so many places in and around Philly to get a really good cheesesteak lots of little mom and pop places I love checking out random corner stores that have hoagies and cheesesteaks as there are so many in the area. Yo Roxborough fam I go to Barry’s just a few blocks over which I think is just as good, plus they aren’t cash only which makes it easier for me. I believe Barry was part of Dalessandros and split off iirc.
I keep running into yuppies that that think Cheez Whiz is too lowbrow to be real. Cheese steaks have to have CW and red cherry pepper relish.. cheese steaks are not fine dining. I like to put the whiz, cherry pepper relish and mayo on the bun and make sure that a bunch of the hot grease hits all that when you put the meat in. THE GOO OF THE GODS THEN FORMS! a little fried onions and peppers on top and you have one of the most delicious things in the world!

I worked in Philly (2+years) some 30 years ago. I tried half-dozen of the name places. Then I went to South St. for fun. Jim's was there. Jim's was my favorite of all.
Not taking anything away from Jim’s because they are delicious!
Love, love, love Jim’s! Such a shame about the fire, I hope they can rebuild and reopen!
Jim’s on South Street is absolutely bomb. My favorite
Delasandros... I don’t need to say anything else✌🏽
Facts
Yo Roxborough fam I go to Barry’s just a few blocks over which I think is just as good, plus they aren’t cash only which makes it easier for me. I believe Barry was part of Dalessandros and split off iirc.
Naw sorry buddy went there many times there not! Consistent. And from time to time there service kinda bad. And im very honest
True Story
Yo big big facts
2:17 dropping a deuce.
It's from the cheese whiz
I keep running into yuppies that that think Cheez Whiz is too lowbrow to be real. Cheese steaks have to have CW and red cherry pepper relish.. cheese steaks are not fine dining. I like to put the whiz, cherry pepper relish and mayo on the bun and make sure that a bunch of the hot grease hits all that when you put the meat in. THE GOO OF THE GODS THEN FORMS! a little fried onions and peppers on top and you have one of the most delicious things in the world!
I almost licked my phone screen when that sandwich showed up.

Bruuhhhh.😂😂😂😂
Johns roast pork is where it’s at!
Best in the city
My husband is from Philly, I'm from Jersey. Definitely need to add Philly pretzel in the list of favs. Eagles, Philly pretzel and a great Philly cheesesteak lol
Hot dogs are really soul food! The beef flavor is really strong! I really want to eat! 👍
bruh what do u eat for a living
didnt your mom ever cook for you
Really really really
I’m sorry what
I think you mean Seoul food
SP1RIT PHAZ3R 😂
Meh, I'd have to disagree. At least John’s Roast Pork doesn't use cheese whiz!
John's roast pork is amazing and WAY better then Jim's.
Its all a out the sharp prov baby
I like cheez whiz
@@jaynelson9543 Yeah. People that dont like it on cheesesteaks dont like real cheesesteaks.
i came to love cheese wiz actually lol used to like provolone more
Waited in line over an hour after the Super Bowl parade, worth every second.
Those burgers look really good! I might even take one of those over a Big Mac!
ITS NOT A BURGER ITS A CHEESESTEAK!
hay woods looks like they need pickles and mustard tho, maybe some thousand island and chiles, and then maybe it could compete with in n out
@@GeneticXIV No! All you are suposed to put on a cheesesteak is beef and cheese and onions and thats it. Did you ever have a cheesesteak before?
hay woods have you ever had in n out burger before? It’s the best burger in the country
@@GeneticXIV No. We have 5 guys and they are super good. I kind of want one now.
" Generally the cheese of choice is Cheese Whiz, the Kraft processed cheese we ALL know and love"
25 second later- "Im kinda skeptical about processed cheese on my sandwich, because this Cheese whiz thing is new to me"
I love the wah wah pedal, too.
"Philly Jim must be behind this" - Dwight Schrute
Jim's is the true King of Steaks.
When my Uncle Rudy & my Uncle Russell owned the store I would go in. I was working Crazy ours back then. But I would make this Tex-Mex Hot Dog. It was covered in cheese sauce, it was garnished with fresh onions on top with Jalapenos.
Jim’s is the best! Always headed there after concerts at The Troc or TLA!
The hype is real! We came from jersey tried both the original with wiz and I also tried the chicken cheesesteak with sharp provolone and were the best cheesesteaks I’ve had in my life hands 🙌🏼 down also fyi the line is huge so if u go to the bar right across u can still order a Jim’s steak top priority so u don’t have to make the line 🤗
love the blooper at the end. You owned it like a boss.
Who the hell is Demzel Washington? 3:18
Tourists, if you dont want to get thrown out, get the whiz, not the provolone 😃
@TC Fenstermaker I would forgo all cheese on my sandwich. Maybe that's worse that choosing the wrong kind of cheese.
So why put it on the menu?
0:55, Ohhhhh that cheesesteak looks so good💯And Philly is a great town too💯
Her - “babe, what do you love most about me?”
Me - 02:32
😂😂
OMG it looks bomb with all that melted cheese 🧀 and 🧅 😋😫
I come from Harrisburg to get Jim's since I was a kid! The best!
I know the wiz is traditional. But I'll be honest I prefer provolone! Shhhhh don't tell the food police!
Me too.
3:55 She’ll be here all week folks
Watching this as I sit in Jim's waiting on my "Wiz Wit". Can't wait
Max's has them all beat any body from Philly know that
Jim’s is overated
Max's a joke
nah dog
@@dominicborelli2822 I thought Jim's was delicious. The bread was fresh and the meat was juicy and mouth watering. It didn't have a heavy seasoning taste to but that's what I liked about it. Simple is sometimes better.
Michael Castellano yes it is good but in philly there is better
3:56 bruh it’s just a sandwich 😂
West philly jim's will be missed. Delware county just as good.
He JUST SAID.. "I'm more proud of my local clientele...."
And the next shot you see.. is some bumkins from who knows where buying there stuff, talking about T-shirts and crap"...! Priceless!
234: I fell in love with her the way shes talks about this steak.. and I'm a vegetarian lols
Went there all the way from London UK and it did not disappoint!
"I mean I feel like I'm gonna get the t-shirts and strap em on!"
Jim’s and “quintessential” don’t belong in the same sentence. Top 3 in Philly are:
Dalessandro’s
Max’s
Mama’s
Dalessandro's is the best!
MAXS🥲🙃
Exactly
Jim’s is like maybe top ten, Chubbys across from Dalessandro’s is solid as well. I’m a Max’s guy because I lived on Northside but man Dalessandros is worth the trip
@@jackhovatter Chubbys is awesome for sure, plus there's never a huge line. The fact that they even have a parking lot is huge. You should check out Mamas. Its a pizza shop halfway between the Chilis on City Ave and Manayunk, but their steaks are a hidden gem.
Jim’s is top notch. I swing through and grab one whenever I’m up the way 😋
It burnt down about a year ago
The guy at the end said he's been coming since 1967 but I thought they opened in 1976...
I noticed that as well lol
Must of got the 2 numbers mixed up by being nervous for the camera. I mean I know I would mess something up lol
Jim’s is my favorite.
It's definitely good - but like all cheese steaks - you get tired of it after a few bites and massive food coma
