The appropriate beverage is a Dr. Brown's cream soda or a Cel-Ray. And be nice to your waitress; chances are she can kick the shit out of you."

You gotta understand, if you order any pastrami sandwich or rueban from any other restaurant what you are getting is dry, refrigerated meat that you can just pick up from your local supermarket. Their pastrami is the freshest pastrami that you can ever have. Very few places in America make their own pastrami from scratch and you can tell when you eat at Katz, all other pastrami sandwiches fall to the wayside.

Acender I can verify that Katz’s Delicatessen has confirmed that the customer in question was in fact fast asleep and was there for at least 35 minutes

Omg this is my favourite sandwich on earth. I don’t care how much it costs. It’s worth every dollar and I MUST go here when in NYC.

I'm a Londoner. I had the joy of spending 3 days in NYC on business once; I had one day off work to enjoy the City. The lady running our NYC office, an absolute darling, made me a one-day NYC sightseeing tour list, based on my interests. Among the museums and history, was lunch at Katz's. Best sandwich ever.

New Yorker here: it’s more about the experience than the food at Katz’s. I’ll take the pastrami sandwich at Sarge’s on Third Ave over it any day.

Went today for the first time. Was definitely on the list of to do’s. Unfortunately not what I was expecting. Of course I had the classic pastrami. Believe it or not, there’s not much flavor, and the sandwich literally falls apart. They are better off selling bags of chips rather than french fries. The fries were obviously a day old and the worst I’ve ever had. By the way, you pay when you’re done eating and at the exit. It’s cash only, they probably have an atm and wack you for using it, just another way to make a buck off the customer. Once was fun, but they won’t get me again. Certainly not a 23.00 dollar sandwich.

Funny thing is that people complaining about their sandwich prices while the sandwiches are the only items worth the money there. I've seen someone went there and ordered a hotdog, that hotdog cost him 10 BUCKS! 😨

Too much meat on a sandwich is a stupid idea. It does not taste like a sandwich. A great sandwich needs balance, not gimmick
