I think you can get a more accurate engine/pinion angle measurement by putting a straightedge across your crank pulley and putting your angle finder on the straightedge.
I used hooker 8501HKR cast manifolds on my 80 series ls swap. They hug the block pretty well and most 80 series swaps use these to give them clearance. I also used a later year water pump on my LM7 (I used ACDELCO 252901). The output to the radiator is shorter and doesn't interfere with the air intake piping. Not sure if that tip will help on your layout but incase you needed extra room for your intake piping. Excited for the build!

Did you find a good fitting upper hose? I bought the same pump I have now, but looking at it I might but the one you listed! That’s 07+, they bolt right up to the older 5.3’s?

Not sure why I don’t see my reply to the upper radiator hose but I believe it’s the factory Silverado hose that came with the engine swap. Lower hose on my setup I used an explorer hose that needed a little trimming. No spacers on the pump. Everything lined up.

I'm guessing there is an axle swap coming up since the transfer case is left side drop and the front pumpkin is on the right.

97-04 Corvette "batwing" oil pan are about as shallow as you're gonna find if you need even more clearance.
Would that be okay for offroading? Say for hill climbs? Feel like the oil pick up may be an issue.

He does have broken bolts. I've had good luck welding a washer and nut to the bolt.

LS motors may not vibrate as much as diesels but the poly bushings will still cause vibrations. I would go with rubber or hydraulic if you can.

If you go poly engine mounts, go poly trans mounts too (or rubber/rubber). Mixing can tend to stress things.

Love this build so far, I have this exact project (1971 FJ40 with a 5.3 and 4L60E) in my shop sitting for the last 4 years. Your fast progress has given me the motivation to get back on it! As others have mentioned, Im curious what your plans are for the front axel due to your choice of t-case?...Im sure you have a plan already maybe an axel swap or possibly an axel housing flip? Look forward to your next video!

Change the accessories to the Corvette accessories you gain 1.5” on the front.
