I believe that hawse fairlead is for synthetic cable. The steel winch cable will chew up that aluminum fairlead. I think you need to use a roller fairlead imo. Great video as usual. Loving the build!
I’ve been binge watching this FJ cruiser build all day! Love your channel. I have a pick up FJ cruiser that I restored a few years ago but I don’t have a fully fitted and functional workshop like yours so my work is nowhere near as good as yours. Love from Namibia 🇳🇦. I love your power tools and your welds are superb. Welding is something I want to learn more
The worst part about this episode is that I have to wait for the next episode to come out! Seriously awesome work, Austin. I check every day to see if you’ve posted a video. Love the content. Thank you!
There is no question that the frame is strong and solid. Very nice and done well. It will make a difference in the ability of the vehicle. Are you considering making any or full length skid plates across the bottom ? By the looks of it you managed to get everything tucked up nicely. So nothing hangs below the frame. So having skid plates not only protects everything. It provides a wide surface to keep from hanging up on anything. Looking forward to seeing what's next. How your going to finish the body... rear bumper... rock sliders.. roll cage... yeah it is a great build and really looking forward to seeing the progress. As for the trailer... looks like a good winter project. Such an open canvas to repair and improve upon to allow it to be used. With your creativity and imagination along with your fabrication skills. That trailer truly is a blank canvas.... 😎👍
You might want to consider adding rubber or plastic to the frame right behind the electrical studs on the winch. They could contact the frame in a hard front end hit. Or maybe you can clock the winch.
Austin, I have been following your work and channel since the beginning, and it is an absolute pleasure to keep watching your projects. Perhaps you may not realize it, but your evolution as a builder is truly remarkable. Congratulations, man! You deserve every single follower and all the success you have achieved!
Good call pressure washing the frame out. Tons of rock and grime gone. Are you going to use the Eastwood system to spray the inside of your frame? Going to need some frame time on your trailer to pull the side rails back in line but that’s a good buy. Really enjoy your work on this one. Jealous I don’t have a shop like yours to build in. Keep up the good work.
Surprised you didn't complete the roll cage and frame tie ins before getting it blasted. Also, you can get the inside of a frame sandblasted. They drag a hose through the frame that has side vent ports for the sand. I had it done when I had a frame galvanized. And yes, I think a video on the trailer would be cool.
When final welding a frame we usually jig it up to a frame table to keep it from twisting. 1-2 days of non stop final welding puts a TON of heat into it, which can and usully leads to something twisting. Hopefully you have some dumb luck working in your favor! 😅
One of the only channels that gets an instant like before even watching the video, great content 👏🏻 Edit: You are correct, if you box part of the frame you gotta do the whole thing. The unboxed portions will fatigue easily. Especially Toyota frames.
I think it would be good to see a video of you repairing the trailer, and do some upgrades like a winch, and a toolbox for your straps and fixings and maybe some more lights etc, etc, but go for it, keep up the great content. 👍👍👍
Another great episode. I was mid watching a different channel when I saw the notification from your episode and I stopped and jumped to your video 😝 Yes, a video of the trailer. To be honest, I’d watch a video if you brushing your teeth to support your channel. But I would be keen to see the trailer fix. Keep it up. Please tell me you are going to keep this FJ build and not sell it.
you'll have the same issue as the 70 series toyota with the vdj engine. the alternator is down at crank level and they have constant alternator failures just from driving down wet gravel roads they don't even have to get anywhere near a soupy boghole. the alternator is just sucking in dirt, dust, grit and mud constantly
Love the build as always. Ultra high quality content. About the alternator, are you also gonna do som creek or river crossing? If so, won’t the alternator in the danger zone of getting wet and malfunctioning? Also Lets see some trailer content ma boiiii 😬
Is your day job a Fabricator/Welder ? Man you are really talented ! Great video as always, looking forward to the next one. I would like to see you fix the trailer as well.
Kinda chuckled when I saw that trailer damage. A few years back, I had just picked up a very nice tilt trailer at work, drove less than a mile and while stopped in a left turn lane, a semi drove right over it from behind. Oh, and the semi driver was an "undocumented immigrant" who spoke zero English. Trailer was totalled, driver met ICE agents, bad day all around. So, YES, a video or two repairing the new to you trailer would be awesome!
Ok im adding another comment, but them guys at the end could have picked that up a lot better with straps. Its not there property so i think using better methods would be smart
Yea I agree. Those guys seemed really aggressive/impatient picking that frame up… When Austin mentioned they damaged the frame I wasn’t surprised after seeing how they handled picking up the frame. That sucks. Hopefully they do a good job with the sandblasting. I would look for a new place next time though.
Looks like the winch fairlead is for a synthetic rope, if you keep the wire cable you will want to run the roller fairlead. Sure you know this looking at the quality of work you have going, but just in case you didn't.
Hell yea I want so see you rebuild that trailer! I’m a big fan of your channel bro and everything that you do is like perfect! Shout out from south Florida brother!
Definitely want to see a video on the trailer fix. Crazy how the energy of the crash moved through it.
Oh yh bro👍
I would definitely like to see it done.
I ain't suprised about the energy of the trailer crash. Also you don't have to be going that fast to bend a trailer like this, 30 mph is plenty enough
I believe that hawse fairlead is for synthetic cable. The steel winch cable will chew up that aluminum fairlead. I think you need to use a roller fairlead imo. Great video as usual. Loving the build!
Noticed this as well.
I just realized, out of all the channels I usually watch, you are the only one actually building something right now. Thank you.
Great job!
Insane amount of welding
And i really like the voiceover style videos more, keep those up! 👌
I’ve been binge watching this FJ cruiser build all day! Love your channel. Yes indeed Austin, film the trailer repair! I'm sure it can give a lot of people some pointers on repairing such a thing!
No one can ever say you half assed it.
Great craftsmanship and fortitude
The worst part about this episode is that I have to wait for the next episode to come out! Seriously awesome work, Austin. I check every day to see if you’ve posted a video. Love the content. Thank you!
You can rotate winch motor with 90° increments. So bolts would point up 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love the trailer video too 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Got to make a cool rear bumper 🤘🏼
Love to see a video of you fixing the trailer.

Keen to see the trailer fix too
Definitely want to see a video on the trailer fix.
For sure want to see the trailer fix!
Definitely wanna see the trailer refurb
You might want to consider adding rubber or plastic to the frame right behind the electrical studs on the winch. They could contact the frame in a hard front end hit. Or maybe you can clock the winch.
Doing a great job on this build. Looking great.
hell yeh, onto gettin close to the finishing touches!

Thank you! I appreciate that!!

From a layman's point of view...
Truly amazing work!
Best of luck with your build.
It’s always a pleasure to watch what you do Austin.
Good call pressure washing the frame out.

Really enjoy your work on this one. Jealous I don’t have a shop like yours to build in. Keep up the good work.
Austin i cannot get over your skill and fab skills, wish i lived closer so we would build some sick stuff together!
Surprised you didn't complete the roll cage and frame tie ins before getting it blasted. Also, you can get the inside of a frame sandblasted. Fantastic overcome and adapt superb 👍🏼
Frame is looking awesome! Killer welding skills! Definitely would like to see you restore that trailer.
Nice work Austin. Frame is looking stout! Trailer repair vid would be cool.
I enjoy your work & attention to detail. So yes I would enjoy seeing the repair of the trailer.

You are a good fabricator man. Build to perfection.
Yes I would watch a trailer rebuild I like the way you work
you can clock the winch motor

Love this build! And yes, would really like to see the trailer repair! Thanks Austin!

Waiting for trailer videos! Build custom tool box’s and drive over fenders!
You are a mig welding BEAST!!! Nice work, Man!!
Another great episode. I was mid watching a different channel when I saw the notification from your episode and I stopped and jumped to your video 😝
Yes, a video of the trailer. To be honest, I’d watch a video if you brushing your teeth to support your channel. But I would be keen to see the trailer fix. Keep it up. Please tell me you are going to keep this FJ build and not sell it.
Would like to see the trailer build. Would like to see the Ford Powerstroke build too for that matter.
It's a lot of work! But it's looking good!! Thanks for the video.
I vote yes for the trailer fix !
Fix the trailor a good project!!!
I want to see you restore that trailer like always great video keep up the good work
Yes Sir, I would like to see you fix your new trailer. FJ is looking super stout.
You can clock that winch motor to make those lugs clear
you for sure should do a video of this - something different and you know you will through some custom touches at it
Great build!
The video is so amazing
keep going hero💯💯
Yes on the trailer fix video. I bet you'll get it back like brand new.
I need to do that to my trailer for other reasons, I'd like to see what you do. I'd still like to see the Super Duty brought back to glory!
you'll have the same issue as the 70 series toyota with the vdj engine. the alternator is down at crank level and they have constant alternator failures just from driving down wet gravel roads they don't even have to get anywhere near a soupy boghole. the alternator is just sucking in dirt, dust, grit and mud constantly
Great job mate, keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to the finale
YESSSS Fix the trailer Video!
No rock sliders welded to the frame before blasting and painting?
Looks sick! But honest question, why not fill in all those holes in the frame?
Hi Austin, please show us the trailer repair job
Hey good on the sand blaster calling and telling you instead of acting like they didn’t do anything to it.
Yes! Will like to see you fix the trailer. Keep The Good Work!
Nice job! I see you’re wearing a respirator while welding. Good for you for taking your health seriously. Most people doing this kind of work don’t.
Hell ya man, definitely stoked for a trailer video! Awesome progress an the fj 🤙🏾
Love the build as always. Ultra high quality content. About the alternator, are you also gonna do som creek or river crossing? If so, won’t the alternator in the danger zone of getting wet and malfunctioning?
Also
Lets see some trailer content ma boiiii 😬
I look forward to these videos ! Awesome work !
Just make sure that fairleed is steel if your keeping a steel like. Or switch to synthetic line. Def want to see the trailer fixed

Is your day job a Fabricator/Welder ?
Man you are really talented !
Great video as always, looking forward to the next one.
I would like to see you fix the trailer as well.
Thats one hella stiff frame now! Looking awesome though man!
You are so talented and creative. Where did you learn how to do all this?
Kinda chuckled when I saw that trailer damage. A few years back, I had just picked up a very nice tilt trailer at work, drove less than a mile and while stopped in a left turn lane, a semi drove right over it from behind. Oh, and the semi driver was an "undocumented immigrant" who spoke zero English. Trailer was totalled, driver met ICE agents, bad day all around. So, YES, a video or two repairing the new to you trailer would be awesome!
Just another day, stripping down the fj to do a quick weld.
Yes do a video on the trailer
I'm up for the trailer fix video
Great work Austin 👍🏼 I'd watch any video you make , shoot you can record yourself cleaning the bathroom and I'd watch it 😂 stay 😎🔥💯🍺
Be careful, that aluminum fairlead is for synthetic winch rope, the steel cable will destroy the fairlead.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ok im adding another comment, but them guys at the end could have picked that up a lot better with straps. Its not there property so i think using better methods would be smart

Austin:, " I do curls with rock crawler frames"
Looks like the winch fairlead is for a synthetic rope, if you keep the wire cable you will want to run the roller fairlead. Sure you know this looking at the quality of work you have going, but just in case you didn't.
Film the trailer repair!
You make a rear bumper like the one you did on the front from frame rail to frame rail with the hooks minus the winch or the bar
We wanna see the trailer fix.
We need a video on the trailer and remove the woods and replace with metal sheet
Do the trailer!
Do you edit the videos by yourself? If so, respect! Given the fact that you make so many progress uploading 2 videoas per week is not an easy task
Yes I definitely want to see a video on the trailer an great voice
Hell yea I want so see you rebuild that trailer! I’m a big fan of your channel bro and everything that you do is like perfect! Shout out from south Florida brother!
What's your plans for the body? I'd hope you'd keep it stockish with that nice patina.
A true crafsman
Yeah, show us a video of fixing the trailer
Love the fabrication work. Will you be installing air conditioning?
Hey bud have you done a garage video? I’m planning to build a garage in the next year and would like to see the dimensions of your garage.
Yea do the trailer vid
Are you planning to also put ac in this fj? This thing is gonna be worth a lot of money when its done
