Ls is the way to go bro easy cheap reliable power!
Yo! Im in MD too. I have a 97 hoe that I rebuilt 15 years ago and Im doing it again with a LS swap. If you want the single best performance boost you can do - check out a tune from westers garage. My hoe has headers, tune, intake, manifold gasket, full exhaust but the tune was the best of them all. GL!. Maybe one day Ill pass you on the beltway after Im done.

For my 2002 gmc Sierra 4.8 can i put a 6.2 and do i need bigger transmission?and what else do i need to

Looking at taking a junkyard motor and throwing it into a 2500 suburban with a blown motor. Not sure if that qualifies as a swap or just a replacement
350 small block is the usual go to with an LS swap. They are plentiful and cheap reliable power. I found that the Barra six straight turbo'ed has the ability to produce more power than the 350 small block however, it may take more work than a 350 small block.
What are you talking about?
@GreaserthoughtsGarage
If I misspoke, my apologies however, I was referring to GM's 4.2 liter.

I have a 1999 chevy suburban with the 350, I bought a 350 out of a running c10 pick up 1987 my question is they should just swap with no problem using all accessories from the existing 350 ???

You probably can but a lot of work
Do you have to mess with the transmission at all ? I just had mine replaced and now the transmission its jerking bad
About to start the saving process and hope I'm not priced out of doing the swap. Otherwise I'll just keep my lt1 going in my 95 z28 for a while longer lol. I got my eye on a motor and trans for 1500 so we'll see when it comes time.
Goodluck bro!!

Can you do a LS swap on 1981 Oldsmobile Toronado
I want to swap a ls3 into my 2002 cadillac seville sts. Is this something that will be possible and can you recommend kinda the route you would go if you were to do this? Tyranny suggested and would the electronics have to be completely re done?
Where did you drill the 2inch hole in your firewall for your LS swap harness.??? I'm swapping an LS into a 71 Chevelle and I can not make up my mind and where I should drill the 2inch hole in the firewall to install the harness.
Behind the manifold. Try your best to hide it

I’m Ls swapping a bmw. I have a ls1 from a 00’ corvette and a 02’ Sierra 411 pcm. I was told from a tuner I can’t tune that pcm for my 5.7 car engine. Is this true?
I want to put a ls1 junkyard engine to replace my 5.3 vortec in my 2000 shitbox Silverado. Recently had an Eaton true Trac installed and it rips. The 5.3 hates the cold and has rodknock its a unknown mile engine out of a h3 hummer. 4l60e Trans is sputtering at 55 also. Have to smash on it to get her to shift. I love my truck but I've thrown a lot of money into it. I'm wondering if I should just go with another 5.3 vortec and do a Trans service. Or just go ls1 and 4l80 Trans with a stock converter
Open to all opinions thanks for all your info 🙏
It’s up to you if you wanna upgrade to with the ls1 and 80e that’s a good platform to make power but you can make slot of power on a 5.3 also it really just depends on your budget and what you can do brother
@@GreaserthoughtsGarage yea that's true the 5.3 will deffinetly be cheaper and easier. But not sure how long another 5.3 will last. Also tired of this 4l60e thinking a 4l80e soild last longer. Or that's what I've heard.
What if possible would be the best v8 engine to put into a 92 sunbird. I have no problem putting the money and work into it
Depends what your goals are
How much do you think the 0-60 gon be with just the stock ls3? On 2nd gen camaros
