That reminded me of the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 where Nebula wants to eat some fruit, gets told not to eat it because it wasn't ripe, then later she finds the fruit again and tries to eat it anyway and has to spit it out because indeed it's not ripe.
He does seem like a gentle soul. I'm guessing his excitement amd nervousness might have been what Huckleberry shied from, they'll be buddies in no time😉
Huckleberry is the reason beavers are my favorite animal! I was smiling during this whole video. I’m so glad you take food care of him and you two are so close!
He is SO adorable, he actually looks like an impossibly cute animated character that someone waved a magic wand over and brought to life!!! My first farmette that my husband and I bought in our late 20s had a large creek running across the bottom of it. We were so very fortunate to have a beaver family living in it and on our property! We had a great time watching them for the 10 years we lived there! Every once in a while we had to go and deconstruct some of their work so that they didnt dam the creek up completely! LOL! We struck a delicate balance between not completely wrecking their home, while at the same time making sure that their was enough water flow through it! They were just amazing to watch! They were surprisingly active during the day as well! I was pleasantly surprised! On the RARE occasion that I actually surprised them with my presence...they would give the water an ENORMOUS *SLAP*! And quickly DIVE! DIVE!!! LOL!
I love that your chanel is getting more and more focused on the behavior part of these animals, and we can clearly see that you have a lot of experience with it! And i love that you use this platform to inform people about animal behavior because it's something that sooo many people are misinformed about, or sometimes not informed at all. Thanks for your hard work!
Love seeing your enthusiasm and love towards Huckleberry, and all the other little animal souls! Keep up everything you guys are doing at AnimalWonders!
0:38 Jessi: Alright, so, do you wanna go get ready? Augusto: Yup. Augusto: [teleports] I support Huckleberry, you, and your wonderful super-powered husband 👍
@@BlueblueN I don't think so. From the video it sounds like she just asked him to help out. There's probably a good chance he is a construction worker / contractor on that house.
I love beavers and he seems very happy and calm. I am happy to see him being happy and in a comfortable caring environment! He’s made so much progression and I am so happy to see him learn and be happy.
Such a wonderful video! Huckleberry is adorable and it's lovely to see him going on an adventure. It's really good to see him building a trust bond with Augusto, and it's always good to see Augusto on camera - you guys are an amazing team.
That was fascinating. I would love to see these more in depth looks at those behaviors of these delightful animals. You do such an awesome job. And, well done Agusto!
Since beavers poop in the water, I was just curious as to how you clean his indoor pool? Do you just empty the water and spray it down? Or do you have to use some kind of animal-safe cleaner?
@@Apostate_ofmind Yes it does. Vinegar is simply dilute acetic acid. Acids attack materials by ionizing and then ripping electrons off of target materials. Including bacterial cell walls. It's a weaker version of why bleach works (chlorine does the same thing, only much more violently). I use a strong vinegar solution to clean my reptile enclosures between major bleach cleanings. It's far less irritating to the animals and lets me return them to their cleaned enclosures much more quickly. Bleach takes a while to evaporate.
@@Kim-lc3fv They have that smaller pool with the steps because huckleberry has ataxia (definition in video), which can act up at any time. But I am sure if they fill the current pool up more it would give plenty of swim room :)
It’s really good to know that you guys were able to stay safe during the storm and I’d like to say that huckleberry was especially wonderful and adorable as ever today. Thank you for reading!
Gratuitous positive Augusto comment! Seriously, this video had it all: wary and mischievous beaver, rare Augusto sighting, facility progress update, Jessi as per usual!
I love Huckleberry, such a cutie, here in the UK Beavers have been reintroduced in the wild! You gave Huckleberry a lovely home, your care of him so heartwarming, keep doing these informative fascinating Videos 😀😀😀🥰🥰🥰
Just wondering if you always use the same camera person with Huckleberry? He seems comfortable with them around, even wandering away from you with them around, but as you said doesn't trust strangers.
It’s been so much fun watching Huckleberry grow up!!! I was laughing so hard at him stealing that plum 🤣 I’m glad that Huckleberry is expanding his beaver family and starting to trust Augusto more!! Side note- at work we use plastic boards with handles to maneuver the animals sometimes (just looked up the name online and it’s called a sorting panel/ pig board) Would it be useful for you guys to have something like that? They are a smidge expensive, but if it was on your Amazon wish list I would be down to donate towards it for you guys to get one!
Madame, you are quite interesting in your comments. You are remarkably brilliant. It shows a lot that you've done your homework so to speak. Thank you for your upload.
My city puts chicken wire around most trees along the river to keep beavers from chopping them down. In one evening the little lumber Jack's can take out quite a few trees. But they don't seem to go after the spruce trees for some reason. Probably taste like unripe plums lol
He's SO CUTE!!! And it looks like he's moving pretty confidently. I've seen some animals get really skittish when they realize they have a disability of some kind, but definitely not Huck!
Is there something wrong with his front left leg or paw ? looked like he was holding it in a strange position and was trying to put as little weight on it as possible.
He's just an awkward land walker. He does lift his front left foot up often when he's pondering what to do next. I think it has to do with preference or similar to being right or left handed in humans.
Pretty much! He demands the best, or rather his need for water lounging and his tooth power are forces to be reckoned with. However, he will have to share in the future.
Oh my HEART! I'd build that trustbond patiently over months n years just get 1 cuddle from Huck! Even if he smells bad LOL I'd buy a lifesized Huck toy for sure, maybe that's a fundraising idea? 😉😉
He's such a cute little chunk. I'm going back and watching some of my favs to help deal with stress. Just curious, what is the texture Huckleberry's fur?
It’s amazing to see humane treatment towards beavers considering they are hunted frequently because farmers find them an inconvenience without recognizing that they are pivotal to the smooth functioning of rivers and lakes. They prevent overflows or flooding g of rivers during rainy season too and help propagate new foliage and growth in plants. I wish farmers were educated about this.
When he stops and lifts his front left paw does that mean is he nervous or afraid? I know dogs do that when they're unsure..just curious of maybe it is the same with beavers. Thank you
Thanks!
Huckleberry doing stuff is my favorite kind of stuff!
Yay Huckleberry! A complete stranger on the internet is proud of you!

"I've got a plum! You can't have it. I'm gonna eat the plum! ...it's not very good."
And even then for a moment there was this "heyyyyyy give it back!... oh, good noms, okay"
Loved how he ran away with it.
That reminded me of the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 where Nebula wants to eat some fruit, gets told not to eat it because it wasn't ripe, then later she finds the fruit again and tries to eat it anyway and has to spit it out because indeed it's not ripe.
It’s not ripe.
Dude he eats wood, that plum is like ice cream
Augusto definitely makes me feel comfortable, I would totally take a piece of food from him.

"Don't eat that plum."
"Lady, I'm eating this plum."
Ha ha ha is that the trastlastion for huckleberry
I can totally relate: I need a fence around my yard to keep me out of trouble too. I may or may not chew fruit trees.

This was adorable! I cheered when Huckleberry took the treat from Augusto!
Our little Huck has grown massive!
Want your beaver not to chew on something? Just use the GIANT HUNK OF WOOD! 😂😂😂
I love your videos so much! Just recently I've been binge watching them all!
look at how you take care of this lovely beaver makes me feel like you are taking care of your own children. It's so touching ❤️
The love that you give these beautiful animals is inspirational!

He’s beautiful and his fur is gorgeous. His excellent condition is a real testament to your care.
Gus and Jessie are so sweet together! I love seeing their family thrive
Cant wait for huckleberry’s home to be finished! I selfishly want to see my tile! 😂

We have a really big pool filter and we also dump and fill several times a week. We use vinegar to disinfect when it needs a good scrubbing.
AnimalWonders Montana but vinegar doesnt disinfect! Be careful.
It would be great if one day Huckleberry could get a pool big enough that he could swim in it. I would certainly donate towards that. 🙂

Great video Jessi.... Huckleberry is so adorable. It's wonderful that you fenced your yard and the animals can get out and do walkabouts.
