What’s your favorite part of the printing process? I love it all but I’m partial to resetting the counter before printing each job, I find it so satisfying!
You can use wax paper to prevent your ink from skinning in the can. Just place a piece cut larger than the opening of the can and press down until the surface of the ink is completely covered. Then each time you need some ink, just lift the edge of the paper up just enough to dig out the ink you need and then replace the wax paper to seal the ink.
Just love the Arab platen! Such a brilliant press, no electricity required, just some smart foot work. Can print, emboss, cut and crease and I believe there is a foil-blocking conversion available? - Just love that machine!
If you want to get the best result from the golden color, like the original gold, you have to mix it with the orange color .. and you will get a very, very, very beautiful golden color.
Boa noite sou do brasil. Meu nome é Rivaldo. Quero lhe parabenizar pelo seu trabalho. sou impressor de offset. Vc é muito talentosa e nunca vi ninguém fazer esste tipo de trabalho com tanto capricho
Thank you! Depending on where you're located you might be able to find a letterpress class at a Book Arts Center. Otherwise you might be able to ask a local print shop for a private lesson (that's what I did!)
it's a trick I found to keep the ink disc warm! My press is in my garage which gets pretty cold in the winters and the ink needs to be at a certain temperature in order to print well 😊

My favorite is setting the furniture, it's fun to make everything fit like a puzzle
Yes -- also very satisfying! 😊
Can I get a job in letter press ?

Lovely machine, skills and I like the candle ink heaters too :) I spent 40 years in print, much of it on letterpress, good to see it still going
This is such an interesting hobby to have. Wish you much success on your journey.
Thank you! I'm so fortunate to have turned this hobby in a career! 😊
I started my printing business with Chandler in America. Until now, I still have that machine. It's from the era of lead letters.
My press was also made during the time of lead type, it's from 1899! :)
That makes me feel very calm and relexed for some reason

The first print after setting type. Always get a chuckle at the errors that are suddenly so obvious once Its no longer upside down and back to front.
Thats Great , Have a very nice day
The what are the tabs you use for registration of the paper and where do you get them?
they're Henry compressible gauge pins, they're sold at letterpress supply shops (Boxcar press, etc)

Would you consider uploading the audio file to Apple Music? I'd love to play this on repeat in the studio as background noise. Thank you.
I'm afraid you'll just have to watch the video on repeat for now 💛☺️

Four generations of printing! That's beautiful 💛 I wonder if my son will be interested in it too someday?

The new stuff is all very well until they cut the electricity off!
