What a wonderful window into history! The sounds of the machines and the old wood building just transport us to an age where life was a little less hectic and a tad more human scale. ! Hearing your descriptions of the pieces and the process...proper pronunciations of the pieces...stories etc also greatly appreciated. Reminds me of being a kid and visiting Sutter's Fort, Gibson Ranch, and Old Town Sac and imagining what life was like back in the Gold Rush days. Cheers! 🎉Grateful for the memories
I love how mechanical this press is and all it took to start was a push of the wheel and a firm foot on the pedal keep up the work guys much love from the east coast!
Fantastic to watch you Howard working on your favorite cut! I would love to be there, or at least get a special copy of the print! Thanks so much for the video!!😊❤❤
I remember my dad used to take me to a print shop that was run by Howard Miller. I don’t know if you’re the same one- this was several decades ago. My dad had a shop too. We were in Gardena. Hello Enterprises.
Because all the machines that already broke are long gone. You only see the ones that survived :) (survivorship bias). However, it's also the materials. Can you imagine this machine surviving if it's made of plastic? There is no reason to make things to last nowadays for most companies. Unless you follow the minimalist/zero waste movement - some companies start changing practices from pressures of the consumer.

Oh think of the alternatives during the time frame this was in use! It saved so much work and gave the same product every time. A great tool for that day. And still great today too. So much fun to watch!

I don’t know why this is so relaxing to watch… I think it’s the sound for me. Whatever the reason, I’m all for it lol

I have a Howard signed version of this print. It’s amazing.
That’s very awesome how did you get it if you don’t mind my question?
I don’t know how I found y’all’s videos but I love watching them!
Same lol. I'm in central Illinois but I'm subscribed and hooked on these!
It was the algorithm.... Lol but also great videos. Something so simple yet heartwarming about them.
I’m a local and frequent the museum - it’s a different world in there and you’d have to be lucky to get to see Howard! It’s a great place to visit
This is not just operating a machine. It is the life tranquil satisfying meditative and love...
If I were his grandson, I'd want to spend all of my summer days printing stuff from old machines with him. This looks so much fun!
What a nifty machine! I really liked watching this one go. And Howard, literally pumping them out the press!
So many different types of presses. I love their intricate designs.
I imagine the smell of paint... the sound of wood on the floor.....gauuuu.... amazing

Even a blurry dream of modern printers would have crippled the people of these presses back then. Just like is and AGI.
Hi 5 viewer love your work keep it up

‘Howard powered’ 😂😂😂
I didn't realize how squealy the floor was!

I would give myself about week before I got my finger smashed when grabbing for the finished print.
Letterpress dorks know what mind your ps and qs means 😊
Aunque no entiendo pero a decir una buena explicación
Oddly satisfying
That amount of ink can print how many papers?
About 25-30 of this print.
Is the Ink stinky?
I'd like to know!
We better do!!
Where can I buy one of those machines?
Sometimes on Facebook Marketplace.
I know exactly how every piece of that machine works! 😎.........no I don't 😭😭😭 #diginomad
Lol... I do!!!
Anybody looking for printing press letters and symbals . I have 3000 lbs in them I'd like to find a buyer for .
😮😮😮😮
I am mashan man
Nies❤
1960's ASMR ,(probably not)
That seems like a lot of work for not much reward. Is there an efficiency I am missing with this machine?
you can print hundreds if not thousands once it's set up. 'economies of scale' should be a term you could learn.
Oh think of the alternatives during the time frame this was in use! It saved so much work and gave the same product every time. A great tool for that day. And still great today too. So much fun to watch!
It's also soothing and calming. A nice reprieve from this fast-paced world.
This machine just seems like engineering overkill. I’m imagining one that does the same job that’s 20 times simpler.
This is how racism was spread many years ago.
People like you is how racism is spread today. Keep up the bad work, Snowflake.
