Just a suggestion but you should get some sort of transom saver that attaches to the trailer that hold some weight of the outboard when transporting. Good idea with the wood to keep it from bouncing but a transom saver will help even more and keep everything tight. Unless you don't tow it very far or often.
Impressive skills doing that yourself, boat turned out great. Really appreciate u kept your Granp's motor, I kept a Johnson 2 hp from mine to tinker with. I almost picked up a new Alumacraft V16 this spring, to kind of kit out. I ended up picking up a super clean mid 90's mid trim level model cuz I fish bigger water occasionally. That hull looks like its the base of the Fury 1400, I really like them and the 1600. Just insane what they want for prices for a new one so I made my own Fury out of a Sea Nymph LOL.
Thank you man! I won’t ever get rid of this motor. It runs great, and it’s fun to work on. Looks like a good rig from your videos! How are you liking that 25 Merc? I’m thinking of getting one eventually so I can get into some of the lakes that don’t allow 2 strokes.
@@finsformation its fricken amazing, i never had a small tiller outboard with all the controls/adjustability on the tiller before. Absolutely effortless to operate and its really strong for a 25
That is an awesome job on the boat and trailer. I have the same boat, older EZ Loader trailer. Can you tell me where you got the mount for the bow roller? The one that lays flat against the frame of the trailer. Thanks and go fishing!!
Thank you very much! Lund makes excellent boats. The bow roller was installed on the trailer when I bought it new. The only modification I did to the trailer was the aft keel roller. West Marine or any local boating hardware store should carry something similar. Tight lines!
If you’re looking to do your own build the way you want it, I would suggest going new if it is financially feasible. However, there can be some good finds on the used market. Some can be fixed up, or some can be built out by the previous owner already to fit your needs. It all depends on the condition. Either way I hope you find something that works for you. I HIGHLY recommend the Lund SSV line. It’s an excellent choice.
Just my opinion buy the new 16 ssv. I bought a new wc 16 in 2017. I wish I went with the ssv. With the ssv you can add consoles, windshields, flooring etc, all at a latter date not paying for all of it at once. Enjoy
Awesome setup! I have an older Smoker Craft 14’ and looking to do a front trolling motor mount but don’t want to do the casting deck. This was very helpful.
Love the boat amazing job. What is the size of your garage and the boat and trailer. Asking because am looking to get the same one and I have a small garage. Thanks
My garage is 19 feet 5 inches. The trailer was 19 feet long. Remember there needs to be room for an outboard motor on the back, and it's good to have a little more space so you can walk around the boat with the garage door closed. After installing the Fulton Fold Away, the trailer measures 14 feet and 10 inches.
FYI ,that roller you added will bust your hull, been there done that! Bunks help your hull last forever!! That mid seam is not designed to load bare the weight of the boat.
When trailered in the garage and towing, the weight of the boat rests on the bunks. The roller is only touching the mid seam, and isn't bearing any weight. Thank you for the comment and heads up though!
There is plenty of foam in the aft and forward ends of the boat installed by the manufacturer. I only removed a small amount under the seats to install the trolling motor batteries.
Very nice setup👍🏼
Thank you! It is still working great for me.
Good job brother 👍🏼💪🏼 !!...
Thank you! Much appreciated!

This here's my boat. You got the front, back, water all around.
Dude, absolutely a phenomenal job. Time to fish!
I have already gotten so much use out of this rig! It's paying off big time. Thanks for watching!

Damn fine build! You gave me some great ideas for my Lund 16'. Cheers
Happy to hear that! Enjoy the 16 footer, they’re great boats. Thanks for the Sub.
fabulous combo, and to fish with you grand pa's engine is amazing...
Thank you! The outboard fits the boat perfectly in all of the best ways! Definitely something special!
Congrats on the rig! 👍
Thanks Sam! It turned out better than I could have thought it would. Super stoked on it!
@@finsformation you gonna do WTBN?
@@samporterbass Yep I am! Looking forward to it. It’ll be my first time competing.
@@finsformation you'll love it 👍
I look forward to your wiring video. Congrats on your build and thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for the wiring video.
Nice video! I really like the trailer modification on the tongue! Now you got me thinking about it!
I highly recommend it! It makes storage so much easier! Plus, I don’t hit my shin on it walking around the garage anymore lol.
Great setup!
Thank you and thanks for watching!

Really great work!
Thank you! The hard work definitely paid off!
That's dope. Keep it up Charlie Have you thought about eventually wrapping it?
I hadn’t thought of that, but that’s definitely a cool idea! Maybe someday! Thanks for watching.
so dope!!
Yeah thats the way to do it!

Looks nice!..I'm torn between buying a new ssv16 or buying a used boat, never know what your going to get buying used..

I have the exact same boat. Great job on the project looks awesome. Can you drop a link for those rod holders?
Thank you! They are excellent boats. Go to marinepartssource.com and search Rod Holders. You will find them.
Wonderful description of your work. Your wiring is very neat. Do you know how much additional weight was added to the SSV-14? Great job!
Thank you very much! That’s a really good question, and unfortunately I do not. Would be interesting to find out somehow.
Where did you get the black rubber rod holders?
Thanks....great project and execution !!!

What are the lock things you mentioned in your Hummingbird?
They are called E-LOCKS by DuraSafe. Very easy to install!
must have safety foam floatation to support any thing you put in it full of water must not sink

Fricken Extreme..
It is ain’t it!?
