  • Alfa Romeo Ottawa set me up with this beautiful Alfa 4C and it was so amazing to drive. I had goose bumps driving it. In this video I wanted to share my experience and talk quickly about why this car is under-appreciated.

I do love these cars. I’ll be grabbing one myself soon. But, I do have an issue with one thing you said. You said that it was a pure sports car without any driving aids, but the only “driving aid” it does without is power steering. It still has power brakes, ABS, and traction control.
All in all, though, great review. First time seeing your channel. Like it a lot.

Great video! Couldn't agree more! The 4C definitely deserves more appreciation and respect.
It is sad to see most mainstream auto journalist bash the 4C about its lack of trunk space, cheap materials and 90s stereo. But who cares! The 4C is meant for fun and pure driving pleasure. These biased journalist never complaint about lack of trunk space on a Lambo or McLaren. And their defense is that daily usability is irrelevant for those supercars. But wait, isn't the 4C also not meant as a daily? It is just a baby supercar with all the performane elements of a full-size supercar except the price!

I own a 2016 coupe white exterior and red leather interior it’s a very unique car that stands out on the road. Would I buy another one absolutely lol. 0-60 in 4.1. Turbo boost can put ya in your seat. I’m a 26 year old female and seeing anyone in one of these is rare let alone 26 year old. Oil changes are easy if ya do it yourself. Good gas mileage. Nimble. Raw. Reliability has been good so far. Full exposed carbon fiber tube. No muffler or power steering your in full control. Hand built only so many made coupe wise. Overall Not much to complain about other than not driving it in the winter lol. If your looking for creature comfort it’s not the car for that. It’s basic inside all driver oriented.
It’s basically like a cross between a Ferrari 458 and a Lotus Exige the best of both worlds I guess. Not to mention Alfa’s rich racing heritage. Is it the fastest car no but it’s a rocket kid ya not wouldn’t advise dissing it cause it’s a 4 cylinder it’s a beast. I’ve raced and beat 2 hemis and 2 mustangs. It’s quick in dynamic mode push it in 3 gear and hold on lol.

I am with you, a lot of car owners have become lazy with all the tech add to cars today. This sports car is analog and it demands you attention and that’s a good thing. I just wish 4C had a manual option, it would have been even more epic.
I think we need to support these types of cars so we can drive the cars rather than the cars driving us.

Here in the USA we are sheep. We buy what others buy. While virtually every vehicle sold here has "sport" in the name, we are really only interested in comfort, the opinion of others, and security. We need to feel safe, comfortable and to impress our neighbors. The Alfa Romeo 4C doesn't click any of these boxes, and it won't carry an overnight bag.

😄 import taxes with certain countries are like 100% essentially paying for the car 2x. We are lucky i guess. If people don’t buy more of them, they will stop selling them here.

@@thedevthing I'm from belgium. I searched later this day what it would cost to run and operate an alfa romeo 4c. It's possible on that aspect if you had a high paying job and still live at your parents.
      -Insurance
Because young people are a higher risk at the road my estimate would be around € 3000 a year maybe less, maybe more i don't know (for a second hand) and it's a fast sports car(also a reason).
I own a car with just 155bhp from 20 years ago. it would cost me around 800 a year of insurance. taxes is € 600 a year.
First they didn't want to insure me. a sports car from 20 years ago??? and just 155 bhp??? it's not that crazy fast. 8 seconds. lmao
      -Taxes
on year base for a second hand is take € 300 taxes. you have to pay € 700 taxes more the first year.
If you bought it new it would be € 300 more the first year. insurance would obvious be alot more because it's a new car. i thought it would be a lot more too be honest.
      -Loan
If you would take a € 60.000 loan for take 5 years.
it would be just € 13.000 the first year with taxes.
      Let's say running cost icl. gasoline,maintenance,... € 4000?
It would cost maybe € 20.000 a year? (i could be wrong) and if you earn just € 20.000 a year without taxes withdraw and such. Have fun buying it :D
shitty calculation bit it's an estimate :)

Miata or Boxter... that’s the problem no one compares a Porsche with a Mazda as it is, so those choices were too wide in range for a comparison. The Alfa Romeo is a niche market, especially with the 4C. We are Alfisti.mn.co

    • @thedevthing
      @thedevthing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Very good point and I agree with you for most aspects of the car except the back to basics driving experience. It’s just that from a pure driving experience those are the rides that offer that sort of experience. Miata from a price point it outside of the 4C radar. Thought I found myself looking to see if there was a cheaper alternative to the 4C and I found myself looking at the Miata. I was like “I can get the raw experience and I don’t have to break the bank” i didn’t mean for it to be a comparison in that sense. I was expressing my thought process when I was pricing out the 4C.
