Do you think they should make a Alfa Romeo 4C Quadrifoglio with the 2.9 V6?
I thought the exact same thing when I first saw the Giulia QF. Would that engine even fit in the 4C?

Thats way to much power for a 950 kg car. More realistically they could give it the 2,0 liter turbo petrol from the Giulia to replace this older 1,75 liter.
fundiver198 they can down tune the engine. Lotus made the Exige V6 with the Elise as a basis. Alfa can make a performance version of the 4C like the Exige
Lars Heuchemer it's my dream to do that. Take an Alfa 4C Spider.
Get the latest Pagani Carbon Fibre bodywork (replace the crap CFRP with the REAL lightweight stuff)
Create a carbon Targa hardtop for it (spider is a shitty soft top)
Replace all bolts and struts with titanium / carbon ones just like the Huayra for extra lightness.
Engine: Giulia/Ferrari F154 2.9V6T with Koenigsegg FreeValve and FlexFuel E85 Ethanol ECU. Will make 650-700bhp or more because of their excellent technologies. Engine mounted Longitudinally unlike the current 4C transverse layout
Gearbox: ZF8HP Gen 2 or whatever the best is by then. Steering wheel will stay the same style as the 4C but adopt Giulia flappy paddles. Gauge Cluster will be changed from Digital back to Giulia Style
And there you go! The baby LaFerrari. Yes it will cost shitloads of money but it will be beautiful, special and visceral. Imagine a car about 800kg with 700bhp. That's more power to weight than a LaFerrari!
(How I got to 800kg was take the 4C Kerb of 895kg remove weight for FreeValve, Pagani Carbon and Titanium Chassis, Sound deadening and useless crap like the radio, and add the little bit of extra weight for the slightly bigger gearbox and engine - this is just an estimate!)

Having only ever sat in each one the Alfa Spider is nicer than the coupe as it's more airy and you can see out better but the fact that the the top takes up the entire trunk and AFAIK there's no frunk... Car's got to be somewhat practical.

NO Alfa hasn't fixed the 4C! It still doesn't have a manual gearbox!
Exactly! A manual is most important, but it also needs to revert to steel/aluminium construction for affordability, by which time it probably needs a bigger engine (a V6) to offset the extra weight and a proper LSD to put down the extra power. All Alfa did is fix the googly compound eyes and the steering.
trust me, with that steering, the manual gearbox would make all incredibly complicate
I have no idea how I managed the unassisted steering and manual gearbox in my 1980s Alfa 33 for 13 years then. :p
this steering is different, during a fast corner it becames rock hard you cant let go even one hand to change gear or you won't make it... the 33 corner speed is not even comparable.. then the whells are way bigger than a 14 inch rim
I have a 4C and the unassisted steering and manual brakes is what make it such a drivers car. Don't know what it is with modern drivers. Had 57 Chevy, 64 Ford without power steering and didn't even think about it. Also has a 1970 ALFA spider that I bought new and finally sold 3 years ago to make garage space for the 4C. It was manual steering also and wonderful "feedback". In the 4C the only time it is noticeable is parking...you lean that you don't try to turn the wheel without slight movement to reduce stiction.
It should be callled the alpha 4c TARGA

My picks are:
Tesla model S for daily since I live in LA and traffic is horrible why not have an Eco friendly car.
Weekend/canyon car would be a 911 GT3 RS or the 911 R because I love Porsche.
Third one would be a RR Ghost for comfort on long journeys that the Tesla can't do. As a side note I would probably own a Ducati Panigale 1199 and a Agusta Brutale 800.

Except it has a strut rear suspension and no manual. The car is a complete and utter failure and the sales show this.

Bizarrely, that would have made it more heavy, and the double clutch actually is pretty good. It really feels like an F1 car, obviously of old. Current F1 cars are more like lorries than cars.

I own a 4c... if you drove it daily you would go MAD... Its a great drivers car, but not ideal for daily driving.

I drove a 2015 model 4C last week and didn't experience any steering issues, which I was surprised after reading many reviews. It doesn't have the feel of a Lotus (nothing does!) but still has more feel than 95% of other cars. It's a shame they didn't make these changes before the journalists got their hands on it.

Bloody Americans love to ruin European car lights... the 4C 'spider' style lights are freaking awesome! The other lights the US ruined were the Maserati 3200GT 'boomerang' style. The 4200GT tail lights were bland and boring by comparison.
Three years after this video was posted: I drove a 4C coupe last weekend. It was epic! Dynamic mode was brutal though so I think it was an earlier car. Now I want to drive a spyder!

The Spider is MUCH heavier than the Coupe. Plus, if it's an American model, then both models are heavier again. The steering situation is much improved if you get slightly less sporty tyres.
You Hoon in a Civic or a Saxo, you drive an Alfa
Have had my 4C LE coupe for a year. The suspension alignment on mine was already realigned before I picked it up at my request. No issues at all. love the car and it impresses every time I drive it. Handles fine. Some people put in some spacers known as Jamies Blocks and swear by them. I know several fellow 4C owners and we track them and they are bullet proof for that.
As far as manual vs. DC....there is a reason why all the exotic car companies are going with paddle shifts. Faster and just as much control as a manual...many companies report that it is very hard to sell manuals and are taking them out of their option list.. Once you drive a DC auto and learn how to use it you won't see much reason to go back to a manual....and I drove one for years both in previous sports cars and SCCA race cars. I look at it like hand cranking your car years ago. When it became dinosaur engineering and was replaced by electric starters I don't think too many people wanted to go back to cranking their cars. When F1 cars, Ferrari, BMW, Lambo, Porsche, etc, use them it is pretty obvious they have an advantage.
Hi, I test drove a 4C last week and the steering was absolutely fine. I really liked it and have decided to buy one later this year. Does Jamie's blocks improve the feedback even further? I see he also offers a 280 bhp remap. Any experience of that?

Alpha never fixed the 4C because they never stopped the dealer over pricing and they didn't have a manual transmission. Had they, the 4C will still be selling like hotcakes instead of gone.
The one and ONLY reason i wont buy is that interior. If ONLY the steeringwheel could be more beautiful and have a prober satnav like giulia it would be absolutely perfect.

I hate the number plate on the paintwork, I've ordered a tow hitch one and took mine off the front, had to spend ages getting double sided tape off the rosso comp paint , grr

imo it's not that light considering its on a carbon tub and how small it is, a lotus elise is lighter and doesn't have a carbon tub

So the steering was even more chaotic than that ? I drove the nearly exact same car (reg : EZ-235-DC) from FCA Italy on some Alpine pass. Still found the steering wasn't good for driver's confidence

I think the steering thing is a Alfa thing cause I have owned 2 Alfa romeo's a 2003 147 2Lt selespeed and right now a I own a 2008 1.9 Monza JTD GT and both will fallow the lines on the road and I have had tracking checked steering wheel fluid changed but I was later told it was this loose so handling corners are easier and I will say under steer on both of these cars is minimal and they grip for days
