On July 20, Clermont-Ferrand and Riom were hit by violent storms, causing hail, strong winds and power outages that left 3,700 homes without service. Temperatures dropped from 33°C to 21°C and damage affected traffic and local infrastructure. Firefighters carried out more than 120 interventions, mainly in Clermont-Ferrand and Riom, dealing with flooding and damaged roofs. Despite the damage, there were no fatalities. Authorities are urging the population to remain alert to sudden weather changes.
