Although this was an intense story, I realize there's a certain optimistic message to it. One imagines that Joe become a bounty hunter because it pays the bills. But when Evie came into his life, it changed his point of view. Yes he quit because he was disillusioned with how his bounty-hunting killed a mother. But the reason he stopped was also because he recognized there was another way to 'stop' bad guys: raise them right before they became bad guys. I like how the child was written. A lot of dialogues between adults and children depict children as total idiots, which they aren't. If you think about it, a human's capacity to think doesn't actually increase with age. Children just don't have many experiences that shape their personality and views. This is why I like the way the child was written, she thinks perfectly logically, she just doesn't know a lot. That's why her first response to the father saying that he caught 'bad guys' was "Like a superhero??", for example. It's also kind of bittersweet that she ended up being the ultimate, titular bounty.
This was beautifully made. During World War II, my late grandfather accidentally shot and killed a child. It haunted him all his days and he was never fully able to forgive himself for what he'd done, even though it was an accident. I love this dynamic so much! A ruthless man who has seen some bad stuff raises an innocent child who he’d do anything for. So freaking cute!!! Great job to everyone who worked on this film. May your future films be just as or better than this film!!!!! ❤️👏
i keep replaying the last scene over and over. such an unexpected yet beautiful ending. truly amazing work.
I know that it’s a style and a lot of other people have done this but the moment he sat up in the beginning the first thing I noticed was his FREAKING NOSE ITS SO FUNNY and just so you know this is not an insult at all, I love the style so freaking much and his nose just makes it that much better
edit: EXCUSE ME CANDY CORN IS DELICIOUS
0:45 What a coincidence that this was recommended to me on Father’s Day lol
DAMN that twist got me! What a rarity in media, excellent work!
I love the meaning of the story its so good
I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU PULLED THAT TWIST ON ME I AM DEVASTATED
oh man, was not expecting that ending... ;-;
amazing job! I'm so excited for your future projects
That plot twist in the end. Goodness, I almost cried. Well done.
EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME! I'm sorry, you can't just give me 7 minutes of lovely art/animation and awesome voice-acting and incredible story w/ characters AND NOT think I won't expect a full-length show about these two?????
I'd love to turn this into a longer series one day! ♥️
@@arrowmi I totally agree, this could be turned into a series.
The whole story is lovely but i think my heart got ripped out at the end. Excellent work. This is beautifully tragic.
THIS NEEDS MORE VEIWS IM SO OBSESSED WITH THE STORY THEME AND ITS SOOOOO GOOD I LOVE ITTTT
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO GOOD, THST PLOT TWIST WAS AMAZINGGGGG, LEGIT GOT ME GASPING AT 3AM
Well worth the wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the TWIST!
I love it
I could see where it was going, but this was honestly a really cool little film anyway. I especially like the meta interruptions of the little girl altering his story, lol!
I love so many things about this, but the best is absolutely the depiction of the kid. She's clearly perceptive. Many people forget, children watch and listen.
I’ve been waiting for this!!!!! It’s really well done
I'm shocked i dont expect that final
Its amazing animation
wow, i could write a whole essay on why this is my favorite short film, I keep coming back to watch it
Yo this is really cool, the ending gave me chills
This video was recommended to me and I’m sooo glad I watched and read the comments because I had no clue you also made Noose and On My Mind, these short films are so incredibly crafted
The absolute stark contrast from the bright cheerful light to darck and ominous is just so amazing at showing the two opposing times visualy
Great job. I got toon boom years ago and wanted to start animating. I gave up because it was hard, but seeing this inspired me to give it another go 💘
Totally feel you. it IS hard. But seeing the fruit of your labor is also so satisfying. Keep at it! \o/
One of the best-animated films that I've ever seen.
What a wholesome story. That's our goal living as human being. Doing something for other people. This is a dream family.
I love the aesthetic. The father and daughter have a great relationship.
And that's how arrowmi became a legend
Oh my gosh, that's insane to think about. The girl is a constant reminder of the day he killed her mom, but also brings hope at the same time because that's why he quit.
The dad: "That's why we do things"
The Mandalorian: "This is the way"
I would watch a slice of life show about these two in a heartbeat
watching this on fathers’ day hits different :”)
0:22 when that fell I paused the video thinking something in my room dropped lol
Wow, just wow. Absolutely outstanding story telling, my jaw honest to god dropped at the end! You ma'am is what we call in the underrated.
You didn't have to do me like that with that ending, that was dirty.
you know the movie is good, when you say "f" in the end
Love how you told such a dark story through such a wholesome scene!
This is genius! Absolutely adore your work! I was NOT expecting that twist!
