    before people start talking about bolts form please consider the fact the he has scoliosis in his back...

      @Who Cares? He's doing cleans from the hang so it's not like there is a huge stress on his lower back compared to doing them from the floor and with heavier weight.

    Jared Connaughton and Harry AA only ones who are really strong, talent takes you a long way even at the top level. Have you seen Yohan Blake at the gym vids? Its absolutely ridiculous :D

      +Jones Jorgensen drugs as well though most likely. Alot of the sprinters are very strong though but it is over stated at times how strong they are & weightlifting is important but far from the most important like some people think.

      +Mikey D Weightlifting isnt necessary. In fact if you lift too much you lose speed. Kim Collins is 40 years old and ran 9.92 and he doesnt do any weightlifting. It helps but it isnt necessary

      prondox I find that running and doing plyos for 40-50 min and ending with 10-15 min lifting is enough. And always end with 5-10 min 80-100 acceleration sprints to rewire. Doing 2 hour powerlifting sessions has become popular in athletics and I don't know why

      Mikey D Proper weightlifting for power is more important than just weightlifting. Being overall healthy and being able to sprint properly with genetics and smart work is more important than weight lifting in this context. Respect💯

    I find Bolt's training footage interesting. Using machines maybe because free weights at 6ft 5 can be difficult form wise or maybe they are just for show & he doesn't want to show his real training. Bolt for 6ft 5 looks very strong as well.

      Height shouldn't make a difference with form. It's because the Jamaicans have absolutely no idea what they're doing in the gym.

      Bob Smith so the worlds best sprinter with the worlds best trainers have no idea what their doing???? All of the stuff he is doing Is not like a body builder or a powerlifter because that's not what they are. Sprinters want to build as much power as possible without building to much mass because then they become too heavy. He is making functional muscle, body builders don't have functional muscle because they just want mass but sprinters do explosive quick movements because it relates to their sprinting.

    I do Squats with Max Weight too to achieve more power at the start
    I'm sure that i develop my 30m time

      +Siim Land yep but they focus on some muscles not all for the explosive power when they sprint.

    Cano The reason Bolt is using lighter weights is because he knows his start doesn't have to be the best he has longer legs and better stride length....shorter sprinters need to develop more power to make up for their shorter legs and stride length. Respect💯

      That's not the reason. Its' because he doesn't really like it and didn't think it matters. All of these movements make a difference if you do them right and get stronger on them.

    The Ben Johnson box squats were pretty low compared to most others at 80% depth versus 50% or so for others. The cleans here for the most part are not that good and use too much arm and shoulder to get it over instead of exploding up with the weight and getting the force to raise the weight upward. I see modern sprinters doing these poor cleans.
