When you put the window on top of the cill do you screw it into the cill. I'm having to install a window into the garage so I'm just going to do a basic job and this video give me lots of excellent advice, cheers !

Hi guys , I’ve just discovered my window is letting a draft in at bottom as although it’s got expanding foam at bottom and frame sealed on outside , the foam doesn’t quite reach the top of the bottom ledge on inside so I get a draft , I’m however confused as it’s sealed on outside so surely no air should be getting in ?
I'm interested to know what the typical window fitters rate is in the UK? I'm a fitter myself in Jersey, C.I PS fitting in UK seems way easier as most fitting is between brick, we have stupid cavitys, different internal, external sizes, bloody metal strap's! You get lucky sometimes 🤣
It depends greatly on pay , it’s normally per window on a big council job for one of the big companies it can be as low as £40 a window going upwards . I work for myself and would charge about £200 a window labour.

Dining room window convert to french doors , just had a quote for 2.5 thousand pounds seems way ott and i didnt bite , do you think its steep ? The quote wasnt from these guys for anyone reading
2.5k I am definitely increasing my quotes. I had a knock out 3 weeks ago same as your looking for old window out and cut out for French doors. I get my doors for £550 white Rehau yale locks with twin handles and toughened k glass. I changed £1250 shop around get multiple quotes.
Don't you back fill the internal before putting trims on, and i always conceal my outside silicone work with scribed trims. Because not all silicone is not 100% uv guaranteed
Yes before trims go on, we seal with silicone inside so no gap between plaster and window, we use LMN silicone so I would like to think it’s UV guaranteed I don’t really like trims on window faces to be honest
Nice job. Yes sand and cement under cill and then clear soudal between cill and frame. Deffo prefer a more solid bed to sit on. Also do up to the brickwork different in that I use a bed of matching silicone behind a colour matched flat trim. Does same job but looks good for longer I think. 90% of time you can put it on unscribed and it helps to lose the unevenness of brickwork if you catch my drift. @GMWindowsDoorsLtd

Yes without seeing it hard to comment but in white we would be around £1700-£2000 approx for pvc French doors

Sand & cement? I prefer foam and silicone it’s a strong bond than sand n cement
