    I’m actually so grateful god bless. I was worried what to do. I took out the frame from inside the house. Raised the window and got rid of the gap and put the frame back in place. Saved my self money and worry. Thank you

    Having just broken a (thankfully) small double glazed window with a small small stone that got flung across my garden while strimming, I'm relieved to find its easier replacing a double glazed window than a older single glazed one and there not to difficult. Thanks.

    Brilliant and thanks for explaining the purpose of the spacers since I got blue and black one's and wasn't sure if they were used for the same thing, windows come with no instructions! I don't have the tools so I'll carefully use a kitchen knife or stanley knife to prise open the beading.

    I found putting the trims back really tough. I found hammering them did no good at all. I spent a good hour trying to hammer them in, instead I had to push them in using a massive force. It was satisfying to hear that plastic against plastic noise as they squashed in.

    It's easier to remove any longer strips first. Here in Germany they use 'packers' all around the window not just underneath the glass pain. There's normally a sticker on the new glass pain which goes on the inside.

    All the videos I have watched on the subject show the plastic beading coming away really easily. What if this is not the case and the beading is on really tightly and gets damaged trying to pry it out?

    • @shaneatkinson
      @shaneatkinson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The is some difficult beading but using the right method it should come out without damaging.Some old council beading also is difficult and needs a special tool that releases it from the front where it meets the glass
