I'm literally dairy free and meat free for the past few years and now this month, just became gluten free. Honestly? It's getting easier but I guess it's harder for people who truly love the foods and drinks in these areas. I will say gluten has *definitely* been the hardest to give up but I feel optimistic that it's only going up from here after researching so many cool recipes to try out with delicious whole foods I would've never thought to put together!
You know... if you're not gluten intolerant, there's no need to give it up. The whole "gluten is bad for you" (without any context nor result from proper test from the doctor) is a myth.
you should definitively test if you are really gluten intolerant. If you have problems with the bread you eat it might be the grain type or the quality of your bread that you are sensitive against. Especially in cheap bread from the supermarket - there are lots of additives that don't even have to be written down.

I took a food sensitivity test in 2018 and was told I couldn't consume milk, sesame seeds, cane sugar, sunflower seeds, coffee, or alcohol. It's incredibly difficult to find products without cane sugar and sunflower - these were the two that consistently frustrated me. But really, I was depriving myself of so much food-based joy that I decided it truly was not worth it. I'm not sure I even felt any better than I did before stopping consuming these things, and I found out that asthma and allergy doctors/associations don't even use these kinds of tests for medical diagnoses because the science is not well understood, and IgG "allergies" could actually be a signal of well tolerated things instead of intolerance.

If your not breaking down meat you have low stomach acid. It's sounds opposite but I've had reflux for years, saw a holistic practitioner who explained that we NEED stomach acid to break down our food. Substitute beef with ground turkey or ground pork (i.e. burgers, meatloaf, tacos, spaghetti lasagne, etc.). In my opinion beef is the worst meat....high in cholesterol but pork is high in sodium. I also heard pork is considereda white meat.
Yeah pork just seems to be high in sodium because most kinds that are sold are processed. Unprocessed, pork is comparable to most other unprocessed meats for sodium. Also it is a red meat, the people who said it was a white meat were the US pork board as a marketing campaign. But yeah it is typically better in the cholesterol area than most beef, which can be lowered based on the animals’ diet because grass-fed beef is going to have less cholesterol than grain-fed. That said if you want a good substitute for beef that is lower in cholesterol, bison is a good choice because it is lower In cholesterol and still has more of that beefy flavor.
I think that a lot of gluten sensitivities (not full allergies - but sensitivities) come from the pesticides on the wheat and not the wheat itself. You can try organic flours - or Italian flour imports - for bread and pizza making...
I had extreme stomach issues for several years. I went on a several elimination diets but nothing helped. Getting a food sensitivity test and seeing that I was sensitive to all nightshades was what it took to finally get healthy.
Happy belated birthday, Kelly! I love eggs too, Katie. Jasmine, as soon as you said you had a reactivity to milk I was like, "Oh dude, how is she gonna have her boba drinks?"
Changed my diet almost a year ago, because of increasing reactivity to Dairy (not just lactose either- it sucks) and sensitivity to red meat (weird I know). So I have been living without dairy and red meat for 8 months now. And trust me it get easier as you keep going but the temptation is still real. But the reminder of how badly I react and the discomfort keeps me going.
There may be two issues causing some of the problems the ladies were experiencing during the food elimination. 1) If you regularly eat food your body has a negative reaction to, there can be a withdrawal effect when you give it up. 2) When you start eating food you never very rarely eat, you may lack the enzyme or gut bacteria required to digest it. That can cause the gassy/bloated feelings associated with lactose intolerance. In both cases, your body needs time enough time to adjust to the dietary changes. Katie, Jasmine, and Kelly should have continued the elimination longer than just a week. That said, I know people who are allergic to peanuts, milk, black pepper, or cinnamon. I also know a couple of people with Celiac disease. I have some idea of the difficulties the ladies went through. It ain't easy, especially in the beginning.

Wow you do realize that test like these don’t work correctly. My husband works as a nurse in an Allergy office and blood test do not give you correct data. In order to know what your really allergic or have an intolerance to you have to do a skin pick test. These test are at least 60% false positive. Let’s say you ate a lot of bread before this test guess what it will show that you have allergies to glutton. Maybe you should educate yourself on these types of test before you promote them to your audience.
I think that’s fair and a great thing to point out and remind people of. I will say though, they did say it’s a food sensitivity test and not a food allergy test at about 0:33 :).
@@_SkyeLer it still won’t effectively tell you if you’re even sensitive to that food. Basically if you have had quite a bit of any certain food it will come up that you are sensitive to it even if you’re not
If you took the test again you'll get different results because it shows what your body is sensitive to in that moment, but at the same time there could be a food sensitivity that you had for quite some time and consistently shows up in tests even if you didn't eat it at that time. Moving forward, it would be good to discuss those results with a nutritionist who can help chart a diet schedule to pinpoint the exact source of the food sensitivity. Some food sensitivities cause other food sensitivities. For example, gluten, grains, legumes, cruciferous vegetables and garlic and onion normally cause symptoms like bloating, indigestion, etc. But how much you eat of them also contributes to the severity of your symptoms. Food combinations help with digestion such as having certain spices and herbs with those foods to eliminate the symptoms, spices like turmeric, cumin, anise, and coriander are anti-inflammatory and treat indigestion/bloating, and herbs like thyme treat nausea etc. For every food you take out, there's a bunch of others you need to add in.

I don't know if this applies to sensitivities or only allergies, but if it isn't in your regular/recent diet, if you're allergic then it won't flag up. So you can cut out anything that an allergy test flags up and change your diet, but then you will need more tests to check you've not introduced things that you were allergic to that you hadn't been eating when you had the last test! My GP told me that if I get allergy tests then I should continue to eat the foods I suspect I am allergic to until I send off the test, then wait to see if I can reintroduce them.
I DID THIS!! I didn't use the same company but I sent in a blood test to a lab and I'm allergic to 7 different things! I cut them all out of my diet and healthily lost 45 pounds over 6 months, no fasting or restricting how much food, just cutting out the 7 things. Crazy allergens though, wheat, chicken, asparagus, egg white, egg yolk, pineapple and banana.... It's been crazy but I'm 1 year in it with minimal intake and my body feels the best it ever has internally! No more huge bloating, no heaviness, I can use the bathroom right etc. (edit) this was not at all easy by the way, it sucks still to try to find stuff to eat but it was worth it for me!
I took this test and got mild and moderate sensitivities to Cows milk, Yogurt, Chicken, Almonds, Garlic, Pineapple, Egg white, Eggplant, Banana, Bell pepper, Oats, Lobster, Potato (white, red, purple, Asparagus, Gluten, and Wheat. I stopped eating dairy a few years ago because I definitely knew I was lactose intolerant. But most of the other things I eat daily. This last week I stopped eating all these on the list plus any processed foods, and after 2 days I noticed my mind fog and anxiety dissipated and my stomach felt amazing the next morning. I suggest everyone get a food sensitivity test. Eating foods you’re sensitive to causes inflammation and inflammation causes increase in disease. Prevention is everything.
I’ve been off gluten and dairy for about 5 years and vegetarian for 2 - when I first went off gluten (after a specialist told me that was the cause of all my problems), it was like going off a drug. I was tired and angry and felt awful. But it got better and now I am not even tempted by gluten because I remember how it made me feel. In regards to red meat, I never really ate red meat because I always got reflux with it. I’d like to see Kelly try to eat vegan for a week!
I was tested for food sensitivities through my naturopath (who also is a dietician) and once I cut out the foods I was sensitive to it was a night and day difference. I had been struggling with IBS for years and the classic Fodmap elimination diet was not fixing the problem. I was referred to Lifelabs by my naturopath to have bloodwork done to determine what foods I'm sensitive to. It was not a finger prick, it was (I think... I've had a lot of bloodwork done) I believe two or so vials of blood taken for testing First, there was a period of 30 days where I had to eat every food on a list at least once before the blood tests. The idea is, sometimes the body won't immediately react to a food you ate even within a few hours...sometimes it can get a day or two after. So, it's hard to determine which foods were making you sick because of the delay. Turns out, I'm very sensitive to: Dairy (not lactose though), Eggs (specifically the whites) and gluten. These are the biggest culprits, also deep fried (but that's not part of the test). I'm also sensitive to; large amounts of onions, large amounts of red meats (personal discovery not tested for), soy, asparagus, celery, cucumber, legumes, pistachios, cashews, sunflower seeds, kale etc. Cutting out these foods AND having digestive enzymes and turmeric supplements prescribed by my naturopath has made me about 85% better than I was before. Ps. It takes a few weeks of cutting out foods before you get proper results

In my case it is caused by mental health issues (traumas and blabla). Treat the real cause and GET PROPERLY TESTED by a doctor
I’m lactose intolerant and I eat all cheese, and I also eat yogurt and ice cream. I simply pay for it later in the bathroom

I have Hashimoto's too and it's so cool she opened up about this!
@@daulahiftitah6461 it’s not fully a myth, but they make it sound much better for you than it actually is. Everyone needs some kind of gluten, but many people get bloated by too much.

I cut out eggs and milk (my high sensitivities) and my reflux went down. When I eat eggs my skin gets itchy (not allergic, did an allergy test) and dairy causes my reflux.
I cut out eggs and milk (my high sensitivities) and my reflux went down. When I eat eggs my skin gets itchy (not allergic, did an allergy test) and dairy causes my reflux.
IgG allergies are a real thing. Just because the test is inaccurate doesn't mean there aren't actual sensitivities that aren't IgE mediated.
LMFAO... I LOOKED UP the cost of this test.... FREAKING $159!!! 😂😂😂. No thank you!

I feel your pain. I am anaphylactic allergic to eggs, white fish, walnuts, peanuts. I have also developed strong sensitivity to anything w nickel and cobalt... which is almost all vegetables as well as chocolate, soy, wheat and all legumes!!! I am pretty much down to eating meat and dairy!! I have been chronically fatigued and weak for three years and to make matters worse have stopped being able to sleep. Have had eczema my whole life and yet dairy is now one of my only staples. It’s crazy and really difficult to manage nutrition. Doctors are of very little help as are the naturopaths as my allergies/ sensitivities are so broad. Sigh! Having whined about all of that... I do soldier on w joy and hope. God is my strength and salvation and is ALWAYS enough for me!!!
I feel your pain too. Im lactose gluten and histamine intolerant and I have huge problems with it. Many doctors don’t even believe that histamine intolerance exist because it’s literally in everything and it also is produced in your body. I had very hard time getting used to it and meanwhile I got really really bad with my mental health and well let’s say eating disorder combined with food intolerances is a hell of a combo. It sucks but we have to stay strong cause well we don’t have much of a choice 😅 sending positive energy
Jasmine is korean and her food sensitivity is garlic?
No one korean people can live without garlic 💀
I don't think any Asian person can live without garlic that's why I kinda felt bad for her
Jin from BTS
I love that they still ate the foods that showed up on the sensitivity list. It really just shows if you have allergies you can barely eat anything
If your not breaking down meat you have low stomach acid. It's sounds opposite but I've had reflux for years, saw a holistic practitioner who explained that we NEED stomach acid to break down our food. Without enough food sits, ferments, backs up, and then ba bam. Comes back up our throats as acid. So for sure look into that if you can't handle meat or have no taste for it!
Omg I've never "met" another person with Hashimoto's!!! That made this video even more important/helpful to me, thank you!

Substitute beef with ground turkey or ground pork (i.e. burgers, meatloaf, tacos, spaghetti lasagne, etc.). In my opinion beef is the worst meat....high in cholesterol but pork is high in sodium. I also heard pork is considereda white meat.
Actually pork is low in sodium when compared to other kinds of meat, so yeah you're right great substitute!
But beef is the tastiest meat for sure.
@@tarri16 thanks for the information. I appreciate it
I think that a lot of gluten sensitivities (not full allergies - but sensitivities) come from the pesticides on the wheat and not the wheat itself. You can try organic flours - or Italian flour imports - for bread and pizza making...
Yes! And hybridized wheat varieties...
Now that's a great challenge! BTW all those preps look super delicious!
I had extreme stomach issues for several years. I went on a several elimination diets but nothing helped. Getting a food sensitivity test and seeing that I was sensitive to all nightshades was what it took to finally get healthy.

Jasmine, as soon as you said you had a reactivity to milk I was like, "Oh dude, how is she gonna have her boba drinks?"
Almond milk
*Always love this combo.* 🖤💗
Changed my diet almost a year ago, because of increasing reactivity to Dairy (not just lactose either- it sucks) and sensitivity to red meat (weird I know). So I have been living without dairy and red meat for 8 months now. And trust me it get easier as you keep going but the temptation is still real. But the reminder of how badly I react and the discomfort keeps me going.
I'm actually allergic to both, it's so hard to explain that I'm not lactose intolerant and that my throat will actually close up if I have cow's milk.
Yea celiac/the gluten elimination is definitely the hardest. Trust me. I have celiac. It sucks

Yup.
@@_SkyeLer it still won’t effectively tell you if you’re even sensitive to that food. Basically if you have had quite a bit of any certain food it will come up that you are sensitive to it even if you’re not

Food sensitivity test: You're sensitive to everything.
Me: Guess I'll starve.
Always focus on what you CAN have vs what you cannot have. Always!!
Loving everyone’s hair 💚 Also dream team 💕
I am going to take this test too.
Read the other comments. Several people are saying the IGG test is bad or even a scam.

That online collab xD
I wouldn't get this test and if I could do it for free, I'd read the results and go on with my life without any changes :)

I've had a lot of bloodwork done) I believe two or so vials of blood taken for testing
First, there was a period of 30 days where I had to eat every food on a list at least once before the blood tests.
