I remember being so excited KSP2 was first announced, and seeing the state that the game is in now hurts me more than I can express, especially after seeing the joy and dedication from the devs
It annoyed me they paid all the creators to swear it was not early access while showing a timeline that was clearly early access and then switched it up and acted like they always knew it was early access. Not the same dev team or company as KSP1 either so they couldn't use any of the old code for legal reasons so it's going to be a hot mess for a long time.

Hey Matt, you wouldn't happen to be an Outer Wilds fan would you? As soon as I saw this vid I thought "huh sun station from outer wilds" and then I swear I could hear the sun station music from the game playing. If you are then that's amazing! That game deserves way more recognition then it received. One of the greatest of all time!
I like to think, since Kerbals are immortal, that when trapped on a station or outpost for to long and their water, food, and air runs out, instead of dying they kind of become a bit desiccated. They look like living mummies or zombies and in that quasi hibernation state all they can do is stumble around moaning "snacks". But of course after feeding and watering they return to their normal selves.
IIncredible respect for the OW Community, and/or channel moderation, for keeping any spoliery references out, cause when anyone references OW you know we come out of the woodwork
When designing missions and crafts, the thing that I always consider is what the thumbnail will be. I painted the station white with colour accents because it would "pop" more in the thumbnail shot compared to gold or chrome :)
Once the thermal attributes update comes out, you should do a "Sunshine" style mission to your local star. Big, long ship, even bigger thermal-reflective shield umbrella at the fore of the ship. Maybe minus the psychosis.
That clip you played in from your early KSP days is SOOO MUCH KSP in a nutshell! Only Jeb on board; 4 FPS; a totally unrealistic, ugly and probably wobbly rocket and some other game on a second screen because one burn takes like an hour. I absolutely loved that xD

I love ksp and it will forever be one of my favorite games but i have 0 faith in this game being finished. I hate to say it but i can totally see them scrapping this game.
@SaviorTheBurn true, but.... ksp was an original idea and was made from the ground up by one guy in the beginning. This game has supposedly a large crew with all the framework of the original to base their game off of. And the original was free in the beginning and was what $30 when it was 1.0.

I'm still upset about waiting for so many years for KSP2 and have this be the result. Releasing such a half finished buggy game, with the Kraken in it too is just a slap in the face.
Regarding the TH-cam search, use the sorting option 2 times(Sort on date, and turn it off again), and you will get your normal search results (like, results you are really looking for). Ridiculous UX from TH-cam's part
ngl i kinda like the random "this part broke off" it shows that you built redundancy into the craft that it could survive minor damage and mishaps without losing mission effectiveness, its kinda oddly realistic. "one of the solar panels broke during orbital adjustment but system redundancy resulted in no loss of function" is a very real-world type thing to happen

I actually completely forgot about KSP2 after being hyped about it for the past like 3 years(?). Don't even know how long it's been since it was announced and don't even remember how long it's been out but honestly, don't even care.
The cool thing is nasa’s original flight plan for the Parker solar probe was similar to Matt’s gravity assist (real engineering has a great vid on the mission)
It was actually a more efficient flight path than the one they chose. This new flight path using Venus gives them a few more passes around the sun and the chance to study Venus, which has received less attention than Jupiter, plus much more time spent near the sun.
i just got ksp 1 instead of two, and i just put my first station into kerbin orbit, it has radiators and solar arrays, and its an SSTO (in a way) its just one stage to get to orbit then it jettisons that stage and no more thrusters and its in orbit, took me a few trys but my inspiration was from you, thanks!
They STILL don't have heat in KSP2? Man, I remember when KSP1 was being built by just Harvester before he got a team, and he was pumping out updates and bug fixes faster. Then he got a VERY small team, all of them amateurs, and built KSP to what we have now. KSP2's team is twice as big and actually has a budget not just from Take Two, but from all the Steam sales (which they refuse to refund). Happy for Matt and anyone else that can still have fun, but I can't even land on the Mun without something gamebreaking. KSP1's kraken was never this bad, and again, it was a small team with a small budget, so it was excusable and always was eventually fixed.
Possible suggestion: throw a probe with many science experiments and throw it into the sun/kerbol. To make it withstand the heat, put multiple layers of heat shields, you know, the big inflatable ones.
Send a massive inter solar craft all the way to the edge of the universe in preparation for the solar systems update (also might find your crafts from ksp1)
You can actually go through the sun's "surface", which I've done before, and on one attempt my probe reached the core of the sun and got krakened into an orbit.
I'm really only able to watch a KSP2 video up until the first catastrophic game-breaking bug appears, then I'm out. Made it though 11 minutes of this one.

I commend you for sticking with KSP 2 Matt. I couldn't. I went back to KSP1. It seems like their patch schedule gets slower and slower after every update and I'm suspicious with so many persistent bugs being "fixed" Nate may be more interested in pushing patches than actually testing them to verify what's in them is true. I am slowly losing faith in this game, which really saddens me.
This game would have needed another 2 years before releasing it in EA is my opinion. Bugs are to be expected in EA so I don’t mind them. But the whole game was not ready for EA in this state.

Have to say, I've been pretty disappointed in KSP2's extremely low update frequency compared to the original - especially given the number of high impact gameplay bugs that remain unfixed. Kudos for suffering so we don't have to.

Hmm What about making some Space Docks? As in trans lunar traffic. In Ksp i made a station with 4 "shuttles" that could undock from the station around kerbin and fly all the way to the mun or minmus, theyre purely for transport but it was fun to make them, each of them also had a heatshield and parachute for evac, maybe something like this would be fun in ksp2, especially once you can make ore and fuel -w-
When you mentioned playing Sonic Advance 3 while waiting for the burns because of the broken time-warp, I was hit with some nostalgia, as I used to have a GBA a long time ago and really liked it. I never played Sonic Advance games unfortunately, but I still really liked the GBA. Good times! In Ksp i made a station with 4 "shuttles" that could undock from the station around kerbin and fly all the way to the mun or minmus, theyre purely for transport but it was fun to make them, each of them also had a heatshield and parachute for evac, maybe something like this would be fun in ksp2, especially once you can make ore and fuel -w-
When you mentioned playing Sonic Advance 3 while waiting for the burns because of the broken time-warp, I was hit with some nostalgia, as I used to have a GBA a long time ago and really liked it. I never played Sonic Advance games unfortunately, but I still really liked the GBA. Good times!
Also [spoiler] is it just me, or was it that around 23:00 into the video you started playing the Sun Station music from Outer Wilds?? Haha, that would be cool, Outer Wilds is another fantastic and amazing space game!
