As my very first "pickup", I had a 1970 Datsun PL 521 (originally a 1.6L) with a 2.0L inline-4 from a 1978 Datsun 510. It blew the oil pan and locked the engine up while I was giving a friend a ride home over 20 years ago. I had to donate it because I had no space to keep it and fix it. From the A-pillar back, the PL521 is identical to the previous PL520.
Another great one! This truck is so cool. Sorry that the golf cart video didn't do as well as you'd hoped. I enjoyed it. I'm always trying to fix up all kinds of stuff so I love the inspiration. Can't wait to see the follow up on this truck.

Yeah I kinda stopped watching him. What he doesn't realize is, money isn't everything. He needs a huge reality check and an ego check as well. But is what it is. He's lost sight of why people watched him in the first place. Sooner or later, people are going to start calling him out on his crap, which honestly needs to happen sooner rather than later.

When you started talking about the mini trucks and what you did it made me giggle. Took me aback to going to stereo competitions at local stereo shops and car shows. I found some old mini truckin mags that were my ex husbands. I remember looking in them and it had 15 & 16 inch rims and 17s were special order lol
ps if you have park on the coil wire, your points are working. points are the primary circuit, coil wire in secondary. good stuff though! the parts on the carb you 1rst took off were probably the needle and seat, they control how much fuel goes into the carb
I like this video a friend had a 72 pick up. I always liked and please whatever you do don’t lower this thing. I noticed you don’t have much cash flow like some of the shows don’t waste one dollar I’m trying to lower that truck they look stupid lowered, and then you can’t drive them anywhere Without taking out the oil pan.

I also had a lowered S10 but mine was an 83 with cut coils, lowering blocks and ground effects after that had a lowered gmc S15,jimmy then I got in to full size trucks but I still miss that S10 , and it’s been 25+ years since I had it. It’s hard telling the response you would receive? Lowering trucks is hit miss with people i personally have had both 2&4wd trucks and i definitely preferred my 2WD as I maybe used 4wd a hand full of times in the many years i had them but still had to service them and pay for the additional fuel usage.
I remember a mini truck near Savannah, GA. Called Sweet n Low. It was pink with a snug top and I’d never experienced 15” subs make it where I couldn’t breathe in the early 90s. Good times!🛠️ 7:56
@@MelvinSevik because everyone has different taste and I actually like the look. Plus it handles better and has a lower center of gravity… when lifted the truck will handle poorly and sway easily… causing erratic handling and difficulty steering. I’m choosing the better option

I worked at the Datsun dealership in Charleston WV parts department from 1972 / 1976 cool little trucks .Do it in a Datsun.😊

We used flip the leaf's and block, then either cut or completely remove the front coil overs.

And the carb was leaking like crazy
just a note.... the music Tracks are way loud on YT. constantly need to change volume controls to hear you then lower it when youre not talking

I own one of these trucks. Mine is getting a vw 1.9 tdi and Toyota 5spd sporting 4 wheel disc brakes and wagon wheel mags
Many older Japan vehicles use the whole metrics. Not just 10 or 12, be 11s and 15s 9s all sorts

The Carb is most likely a Nikki 21260-09, 284-01. Royze makes DA-5K carburetor rebuild kit.

Even though I like the tie down hooks, they have a habit of snagging you when you get too close.
Should have poured vinegar in the radiator to help flush out the gunk

Why lower the pickup, It looks great the way it is. Lowering the pickup makes it look ugly and dumb.
