I really dig watching and learning about the old hot rods. The older I get the more I appreciate their simplicity, and engineering. I hope you have a very happy new year! Thank you for your videos, you and Duff always keep me company.
I know you meant it as a joke, but Puddin didn't ruin that car. He bought and paid for it so it was HIS to do with as HE pleased. Same as YOURS. I was at a gas station back in the late 80s once. A biker guy was threating to kill me because I swapped a Honda 750cc motor/trans into a Sportster frame... I told him both bikes had been for sale for a month in the classified ads and I needed something to get to work. We left the station at the same time and he opened it up to pass me. He only got smaller in my rearview mirror. I believe that is the heart of "hot rodding".
My hot ridding days were in the early 60’$…. Chevy 216; 235….and the ‘ultimate’ was a Chevy 265, 283 if you were ‘rich’. That means we had our fathers and uncles left overs to play with….you are working on one of those left overs of my 16 year old youth, in 1961. So great to see one still unmolested in its original, experimental, build with what’s cheap and available….tractor pieces included. THANK YOU….By the way, a new subscriber as of 10 minutes ago.

@@MortskeRepair henry ford, had every piece of his cars stamped with ford.. so that when you visit antartica, & find a rock with iron in it, there will be a ford script too.. never knew he was hitlers mate. but. its nothing different to what the u.s. gov does these days.. sell arms to enemy,s to kill americans.. sad.. ausie.. theres a story of engineers having an argument over how things should be built, 2 left. went to opposition manufacturers.. id say this is why the BIG 3, engines all have simlilarities. [ except chev, that stuk to there 1940 guns]. simese ports, press in studs, plugs angled wrong. chev, instead of going from a small block to a big block, should of made the big block, then reduce it.. as its a proper engine.. unlike the 350 junk.. dodge have rail rockers, which are good, but still simese ports.. hence, i drive clevo..cam it, never touch it..many more happy new yrs.. H..

I'll never get tired of watching mortske work on old fords!!! I just recently bought a 1931 A Tudor thats been in the same family since 56 and has been mostly disassembled since at least 60. Zero rust as it's an original california car. It even comes with the california pink slip when the guy titled it in 56!

Great video. Felt like a throw back to your early video days - just a man, his dog and an old car to work on. Mojo and Chin videos are the best as well but a good change of pace for this one.
Dang ole duff dog is such a sweetheart, it’s awesome how much he loves you and just wants your attention at all times lol. That’s like my little buddy lance. He’s a Scottish terrier and he’s my absolute best friend and anytime we’re in the house he’s gotta be either laying in me or at the very least touching me at all times. Great stuff and such a sweet pooch.
Great video sir. You were 3rd and long on the valves there for a while but prevailed. The take-away from you prying on the flywheel is to find a better bar, and that also applies to drinking establishments. I appreciate your disconcertion about pressure cleaning engine parts. It occurred to me that maybe Duff could assist...but only with a single stream. Matt at Diesel Creek bought an engine cleaner. It's sort of a vertical rotisserie thing that is enclosed with high pressure jets spraying. Man, what a nice job it does. I'm sure he paid a pretty penny for it but if your account says you need more write-off and to buy tools... Anyway, Happy New Year!

Pro tip: when pressure washing (or any washing) outside when it's cold, wear your Frogg Togs raingear... highly recommended (and, no, I'm not paid for the plug, they just make awesome stuff!). In the 70s i read about a model a sport roadster with a worked B4 and ever since i have had a Yen to build one the same . Id love that roadster because it screams 1940's . ❤
