Richer pickings on offer? It's pretty obvious to put herself on a plate for him, and he took it, but I found her a thoroughly dislikeable character. On the plus side, she was the catalyst for his downfall.
The Phyliss/Percy saga is really kicking into high gear now! Adding Emily into the mix makes it even funnier, given the different personalities of the characters. 7:00 that whole scene in the corner shop was beautifully choreographed, and the clincher outside on the Street, one of what will be many of Percy's 'last words on the subject' - "She ought to behind a locked door and under sedation." Love it.
Deidre needs to take a break, a long one since she's married to Ken, she's getting forgetful. She brought down a basket of clothes to wash, put the powder in the washing machine, and turned it on, but had left the dirty clothes on top of the machine. She should have chosen Mike over Ken. She would have had all the drudgery taken out of her life, no dishwashing and ironing shirts, etc. Poor Deidre, she didn't know then or again a couple of decades later.
Years ago I was working in a bakery and was on a day off and had seen the manager from the bakery who had asked me could I fill in for them in the middle of the street? I didn't fill in for them though and that bakery went bust in 2008 and I was glad that I wasn't there anymore when that happened!

Eventually she had to consider moving house just to be free of him. I'd have gone insane or committed a murder! Possibly both.

And Don moves into Number 5 Coronation Street as a permanent basis until Don's kind loving attitude towards wife Ivy changes. Plus it's not for too long until Alan Bradley(Mark Eden)'s kind loving nature changes to violent abuse of Rita Fairclough(Barbara Knox). And to other people on the Street. Emily Bishop doesn't know that Percy Sugden's new house won't be ready for two months at least not two weeks. Which means Poor Emily has Percy for her lodger and boarder until July 1988 when his new house will be ready. Deirdre's right. Someone needs to let Emily know that Percy is stopping at hers until July which is two months away not two weeks from when he moved in with Emily Bishop. Norman "Curly" Watts(Kevin Kennedy) just moved out of Emily's and in with current girlfriend Shirley Armitage. So I don't know how Deirdre will break the news of Percy stopping at Emily's for two months to poor Emily who never turned a soul away in time of need. Because that's Emily Bishop(Eileen Derbyshire)'s good kind nature. She's everyone on the Street's friend. And with Percy Sugden living in Emily's house Emily will never get the quietness she wanted and needed before noisy nosey Percy Sugden moved in with her as her lodger/boarder and I really do hope Percy pays his way as in board/rent and expenses towards power and food and for the room and not live in Emily's house free of charge because only relatives of Emily's like her nephew Geoffrey"Spider"Nugent(Martin Hancock) turns up.
