That's my dad, Rod, in the video. He passed away last month. Just wanted to say thank you so much for making his day. He loved fishing and was so excited to share with us that he was featured in your video. I watch it often and just love seeing my dad living his best life. THANK YOU.
I'm at a loss for words. We sure had a lot of fun that day. I was flattered he recognized me and it was a pleasure to meet him. I really appreciate you reaching out and letting me know. I originally put other people in my videos so they can show off their catches and just a few years later it has turned into something much more meaningful. It's an honor to provide any comfort in this time for you
In my opinion, you did everything right. Usually the deck hands know what they are doing, but that was 100% deck hands fault you lost that first dorado. He waited too long and hesitated. You were too nice and I hope the deck hand apologized for his mistake. Glad captainAndy came down for the second fish and he did not hesitate to pull that one in. Most definitely will avoid head boats for these top water fish and pay more on charter to enjoy the overall fishing. That’s way too frustrating and stressful for me. Headboat is all bottom fishing for me to relax, have a burger and a beer, and enjoy the atmosphere.
Nice vid dude. Enterprise is a good boat but just like any other boat, it sucks when the other anglers don’t know what they’re doing. Good job on those 2 dodos. I would recommend all captains and deckhands to educate everyone while on the way to the fish. Communication is key. Fish on!
Great fishing adventure Zak. Always good to show the bad and ugly side of charter boat fishing. To many lines in the water, but communication is key when fishing with that many people. Glad you hooked up on a nice Dorado. Blessings bro🎣🦁👍🏼
Went on a similar 3/4 day trip out of dana wharf first time in ages a month ago after hearing of unprecedented Cali dodo invasion. Stoked to go 2 for 3 (one spit hook) on my first Cali dodos...20 pound flouro & size 2 hooks worked well. Good going on getting them after muffed 1st gaff! Addicting fish to catch!
