I find it’s therapeutic to go to Catalina and enjoy the lovely scenery, but it helps if you’re catching. At least you got out there. I haven’t been able to all summer. Thanks for watching!
That sheeps head was a nice fish 🎣, why didn’t you keep it ? Not good eating ? Some people say it’s very good and my friend is also not a big fan of it but he sure kept one last weekend we went out fishing 🎣 😎, I got white fish, halibut and for the first time ever a flounder, I didn’t even know we had them here in California, but we got like 4 of them so I guess they were really common. The water looked so calm the day you guys went out, wish it was nice like that all the time, thanks for the video, it was fun to watch 👍🎣😎🍻
Yes, it was a full boat at 30 and it was a slow pick. Although, we had a good bite on the backside. That's where all of the big fish were. Thanks for watching!
Went on that boat a few months back and took the kids. Bruce was still running it, never will go back on it again. Guys smoking pot, drinking hard liquor with the deck hands, and not to mention the cook kept handling money and fish and not washing hands.
Ewwwww, I believe Bruce sold the boat and retired so the crew and captain is all new. I did seem like everyone knew each other or were friends with the crew. It's still a great get away that's close to LA. Thanks for watching!
I went on the Sports King in June and it’s definitely better under new ownership. This new capt went after it. And I didn’t see a bunch of drunks or potheads like on other boats.
Cant believe you threw that sheep head back!!! Thats poor mans lobster!!! They're one of the best eating fish in the ocean!!! And thats facts.........smh
Crazy he threw back a sheeps head. Lmao thats really good eating. Must not be good at cooking …… lmao geeze what do you want yellow fin every time? Lol 😂 do you even eat skullpin or rockfish
Sheephead is too rubbery, not my cup of tea. Give me a nice red, whitefish, or halibut any day. I have to watch my fish consumption because of high mercury levels. Also, I'm not too keen on processing small fish the next day. Thanks for watching!
@@lingcodwhitefish767 I thought about it, but I like to release fish to make more babies for the future. It’s really getting fished out. Look at al the empty sacks.
My favorite boat
Nice! I can see why. I had a great time. Thanks for watching!
I prefer the Gail Force. Good deckhand, nice and friendly. Thinking of booking rhe Sports King next fishing season. Tight lines.
great adventure. watching from saudi arabia
Thank you my friend! Happy fishing, Thanks for watching!
I’ve been on a day charter we’re the bite was even slower then this trip. It’s brutal, but it happens sometimes. Still beats going to work.

Wow that guy on the red jacket had a great fight with the YT. Thanks for sharing bro.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Whippy noodle rod lol
@@fvaldez714 he got the job done though kudos to him.
That was the jackpot fish until he bled it and removed the gills.
@@fishermen22 unfortunate I’ve also seen that before where an unbled fish wins vs a bled one

Sheepshead is just too rubbery, or maybe I overcooked it. Anyways I’ll take a nice fried whitefish any day. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Kent
Nice vid, what were most of the halis caught on? Squid?
I want to say most were caught on sardines. The first big one was on a dropper sardine. Some were on the slider squid rig. Thanks for watching!
@@fishermen22 thank you! subbed🤙
@@victor_clark Much appreciated!
Did you use a sliding weight?
Yes, 3/4 oz on the squid, and some people were getting bit on them. Thanks for watching!
@@fishermen22 thank you. I will be getting on this boat next week.
@@And-the-new Good luck out there!

Nice fishing with you, fun time!
how much was it per person and did u bring your own rod
It’s $115 and yes, I have my own equipment. Maybe too much equipment. Thanks for watching!
Do you know the site where I can book a trip

Then scroll down on the Online Booking tab. 👍
Long Beach carnage
Oops thanks for the correction, but I can't edit anymore. Next time I'll edit more closely. Thanks for watching!
How much that cost to do that?
They raised the price to $115. I chipped in $10 for live squid. $10 galley tab, $25 tip, so $160 all said and done.
This operation wants 32 anglers on this size boat. Pass. gunny sacks looked very light for late May.

Definitely not surprised for a cold day in may, winter fishing lol

Is Bruce still running the ship?
I think he retired and it's under new management. That's why I titled it "New" Sport King.
@@fishermen22 Thanks! Bruce was at the top of my favorite Cap'ns. Really entertaining to fish with.
do you speak English? totally not being racist right there lmao
It's all good, there were several non English speaking people. Thanks for watching!

A good sized whitefish is ten times better. It’s the rubbery texture that makes me release them or maybe I overcooked it? Thanks for watching!
