I have many hopes coming from this video. Most notably: 1) You are planning on exploring every combination even those that make no sense (no-nonsense centre back & Trequartista in the striker position) 2) There's a hidden chapter 5 where Lanzini ignores that chapter 5 isn't there and just talks about his love for River Plate
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I always thought he looked like quite an approachable fella when he played for West Ham. Like he might answer your first call and be very polite. The immediately block your number upon hanging up.
@@mustermannfm River Plate fan here. Manu seems like a very chill guy, he probably would answer his call. It's so cool to see a FM youtuber playing with River Plate, I never expected that. Vamos River, carajo!
Enganche, Poacher, and Raumdeuter will give you some of the craziest goals of any trio. You saw some of them in this video... ...and they'll do nothing for you when defending, so get ready to try and win matches 4-3 🤣🤣
Stinger did a video a while back where he did well with a full no-press 4231 with very generic player roles. I feel like there's some synergy to be had.
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker if i have more possession, I would swap the anchor to a regista. My second tactics are a 5 box 1 DM WB, with a DLP - Regista - Enganche - Trequartista. Still trying to imitate Benfica/Leverkusen in real life.
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker so my enganche and trequartista are playing on the right side, with raumdeuter, SV and poacher on the left, both E and T have the most CCC and assist positional play where either one will either go in out push up or move down. Now there's another role combo I enjoyed when your video of SS and DLF played (auto play), so the opposition swapped to 523 WB Wide/Narrow, I pushed my SV into SS on the left side, my Championship team beaten a Premiership team 5-3 (Carabao Cup). Your player roles video are a game changer for me, especially with having FM25 pushed to March. * I was doing the hybrid tactics with my left positions are goal scorers while right positions are possession retainers
Yes, liking the pair up videos. Looking forward to wing play and target forward pairing (advanced forward, poacher, pressing forward etc) videos. Class as always.
Your videos are awesome, I used to be most interested in the transfer side of FM but finding your channel I've been inspired to experiment more tactically (rather than just select whatever roles my players have high stars in). Also, love the Miami Vice style colour palette and production!
thank you for taking the time to comment :) really awesome to know that the videos are helping you in the FM journey And I feel the Miami Vice palette are strangely fitting for Football Manager :D
Your videos made me not afraid to use the NFB. I always assumed it was for like Boomer ManU 90s football. I started using it at a reasonably high level, fixed a lot of my ball retention issues in possession
I feel like most traditional number 10s have traits that conflict the enganche's hard coded instructions. You need someone there who's strong but also has a high level of flair and the ability to navigate congested spaces plus be amazing at first touches and passing. Honestly no one comes to mind immediately, except maybe someone like Zlatan though I doubt he ever played that role.
I don’t know if we are suggesting current or historical examples but if historical: Juan Roman Riquelme or Jari Litmanen. Enganche was killed as a role by double DM systems. Any modern players will be in roles that drift in and out of the hole, like false 9
IWB is a good choice too. I like using the Libero because I love the role 🤣🤣 but also when you use the Libero with two No Nonsense Full Backs, you get a super wide back-3 formation, and I've been liking that setup recently
Thank you for another great video, how would you say this roles behave on defense? Which play style do u think works the best with those roles? Keep it up! 😊
The Poacher will stay up top and doesn't track back to play defense really. And the Enganche will drop, but it's more that they'd like to get the ball rather than helping out defensively. So both don't really do very much. And these are definitely attack focused roles. They can be good in possession style too. Not so much defensive or counter. Hope that helps :)
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker on FM21 i played a poacher and a F9 in a 424 formation. Thats literally the only time ive managed to get a striker to score 40 goals a season consistently.

Hey man can you help me with something? I really want to play a 343 diamond midfield (Cruyffs barca/Peps city but diamond instead of box), im trying to achieve this by defending in 4231, with 2 IFB, & a Libero. The issue is, my Libero doesn't move into the #6. He plays in this weird left cdm position, as if theres supposed to be a double pivot. If i play him centrally in the 4back, he moves up into the 6 perfectly, Attacking wise this plays perfect, but defensively obviously this leaves a huge gap between him and the left back as the defense is lobsided. Is the only way for a Libero to move into the 6 to play a 5 back? Maybe i could try a 3 back with slightly more defensive wingers? Let me know if theres anyway i could achieve a 343 diamond, Thanks if you get back to me
