Watch every time you calibrate it and see step-by-step how to do it properly. Saving you time and heartache. This is required after repair, Small crashes/bumps and large crashes, or you get an error message to calibrate on your computer. works with Mavic Pro Platinum
    Calibrate Drone:
    1. After a repair
    2. You get an error message to calibrate on your computer
    3. Small crashes/bumps and large crashes
    4. After you have not flown it for awhile
    5. It has been bumped or transported roughly
    6. Right after you receive it from the store
    7. Or anytime you have not done it in a while or if you like to be cautious then methodical do it every 10 flights.
    8. If Drone isn't showing up when plugged in with USB. Disable all firewalls and antivirus. Then plugged try plugging it back in. (comment and input made by @POP202)
This video works for all Dji and phantom drones: Phantom 1, Phantom 2, Phantom 3, Phantom 3 advanced, Phantom 3 pro Phantom 4 pro, Phantom 4 pro+, inspire, Mavic pro, Mavic Pro Platinum
    WORKAROUND
A user @dmillerjr7 found a workaround here are the instructions:
DJI Assistant 2 keeps asking me to reboot drone when you try to calibrate the Visual Positioning System (VPS) on my PC
    1. Disconnect all external monitor/s
    2. Change display settings to 1280x720 resolution
    3. Shift + Restart: Hold down the “Shift” button and Restart the computer at the same time.
    a. Select the “Troubleshoot” tile on the Choose an option screen that appears.
    b. Select “Advanced options”. - Click the “Startup Settings” tile.
    c. Click the “Restart” button to restart your PC into the Startup Settings screen.
    d. Select option “7” in the Startup Settings screen to activate the “Disable driver signature enforcement” option.
    4. You are now ready to calibrate.
    5. Make sure not to move drone around - keep the drone in the center of the screen and angle toward the boxes as you calibrate - it will have you calibrate the front sensors and then have you calibrate the bottom sensors
    1. Other issues include plastic wrap still left on inspect the visual sensors/cameras
    2. dirty camera/visual sensors
    3. Calibrate in a well lit place. The sensors only work in the light.
    4. If the drone has been crashed the sensors could be damaged
    5. There could be a manufacturing issue.

I had a lot of trouble doing this calibration BEFORE this brilliant video came along. I initially tried using the Apple version of the DJI software. My Mac Studio has the new Apple silicon and the DJI Assistant would go as far as the "start calibration" button, but I could never activate it - the button just stayed grey out. Cody's video and a friends Windows 10 laptop loaned to me sorted everything out and the drone is now calibrated! Make sure you follow his instructions on how to hold and move the aircraft while calibrating.

Never owned a drone before, broke my foot and guessed the best time to get one is when I have time to learn, on unpacking the box and booting up the controller, I noticed a sensor issue I thought "OMG here we go, days of trying to work out whats wrong on something I have no experience of" then I came across your video. Thank you very much, easy to understand, easily explained to a total novice, I have subscribed and will be watching many more to assist me. regards from Jason in the UK

Does this remove the Compass 2 disconnected issue or it still remains as there is no physical 2nd compass as it works w/ the VPS?

I had the problem with my DJI Phantom 4 and couldn't calibrate the vision sensors. I have an old 17" Hp Laptop and it calibrated OK when using it and I think I know why. When I tried to calibrate it while using my desktop with a 32" monitor, I was looking at the two small windows on the left where you see the images from the left and right vision sensors. I noticed there were washed out areas in the images that looked bright, and you couldn't see the screen dots in those areas. When I calibrated it using the old laptop, the images looked fine without any washed-out areas and the calibration was successful. I tried reducing the brightness on my desktop monitor, but the washed-out areas were still there, and I couldn't calibrate it. So, if you have those washed-out areas, it's not going to calibrate because it has to be able to see the dots on the screen and you are going to have to use another monitor or computer.

I don't understand how the emitter on the drone shows up on the calibration screen. No camera is on, how does it know where the drone is pointed?

I had the same problem, I ended up using a windows 7 PC. The DJI Assistant 2 program is not digitally signed and cannot communicate between the monitor, computer, drone, and software. I know people have had success with disabling the firewall. I have more information in my description after the section called WORKAROUND...

every time I click on c4k on my p4 pro it won't work. instead, the camera moves around and the resolution goes back to the one I was using before. can someone help?

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

I am not entirely sure of the problem but my guess!
In the settings you have the streaming video setting set to HD instead of Normal which by the way still does HD 1080p for your mobile phone interface. When you stream HD it tops out at 2.7k resolution. That also includes saving the the SD card....

Fake video, the Phantom's camera is not looking at the PC screen when you are in "calibrating process"

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thank you for watching. The calibration is not for the main camera and gimbal. The calibration is for the (vps) Visual Positioning Sensors. They are those two dark spots on the front, bottom, and back. The drone uses pairs of two micro cameras for the 3 sides to measure distance from objects and help mitigate crashes at slower speeds.
