Are both rims identical ? Gonna try and copy what you did. . Will be a steep learning curve!
Also, why did you go for tubed tyres on this tubeless setup? What tubeless tyres would you go for mate?
I tried connecting with you on Patreon but there is no result for twisted wheels?

Damn!! That’s the nicest atheos I have ever seen! Brilliant work on the cable routing!
Thanks man. Glad to hear that from you 🤜🏼
Two of my favourite weight weenie nerds chatting here in the comments. Its a beautiful thing!
No higher praise than the one coming from @ridesofjapan
TRUE WW nerd though DONT use mountain bike brakes on a road bike hehe. IYKYK.
Imagine how cool it would be if Specialized put out a REAL road version of the Aethos. Now that would be COOL!

@@TwistedWheels You are now ROJ Sensei certified.
i love that you let your son be involved and made the final cut. I hope my son is into bikes and building bikes when he's older.
Nope! Definitely the lightest wheelset I’ve ever seen! So beautiful!
Came across your previous Aethos (custom frame) video and have been waiting patiently for the complete build video to drop. WOW! Man, you did not disappoint. This is one of the most beautiful, amazing builds I've ever seen. Love the intricate detail you've taken to SENSIBLY shave weight, yet not make any compromises in form or function. You, my friend, have a new subscriber and (as an Aethos owner), have given me inspiration on what's possible if planned, sourced and executed to perfection, the dream build of a dream bike. Bravo, my friend! Chefs kiss.
Chris, many thanks for such a detailed feedback and kind words! I’m glad you are with me on a ‘sensible approach’ 🤝🏻
This bike is 🔥🔥🔥. Congrats on one of the best builds I've seen in a really really long time. 5.465kg is insanely light too 🌟
Thanks Ademola!
45 rims are looking quite handsome 🎊 🎉
Outstanding build. Impressed that you sort out internal routing mod. Been an Aethos owner since release and while I didn't focus on weight, I also have the 2-wheel set up, LB AR55 and LB WR 35 for the lighter set up. I had it running as 1x, but it was too limited on rides. Safe riding,
The 1x was too limiting? So you want to a 2x?
That fork design will go down in history as one of the smartest solutions for fully integrated cables ever. Awesome build too, loved every minute of it!
Thanks!
@@TwistedWheels Hi mate, I'm considering a similar gravel build at the moment with the deda fork. I was wondering where the special wedge goes that is supplied with the fork? I've read on some forums that the fork only works with a 1,5'' steerer tube, which I couldn't believe after seeing ur video and the aethos not matching that standard. Also the deda website says that the fork is compatible with tapered 1'' 1/8' - 1,5'' steerer tubes. Thanks in advance!
@@PaceGalore Deda forks are designed for 1 1/8 to 1 1/2 frames. The wedge comes with the fork. I have one new Deda Gera EDG DCR gravel fork for sale - drop me a message.
@@TwistedWheels awesome, thanks! I'm currently negotiating the final details with the frame builder. And I'm undecided between the EDG and the curvy fork. I'd prefer the look of the EDG but 180mm rotors and the mounting points for front bags would be nice too. I'll shoot you a dm regarding the fork as soons as I've figured that out 👍
Your assistant is adorable! Nice build, it's amazing how you can make these bikes feather light! Beautiful build!
Thanks Mac Daddy!
Couldn't possibly decide. You need to keep both!
That's what I call a Dream Built !! 🤩 Not to mention your great taste for components and custom paint and so on ... Its always a great pleasure to watch your work/videos. I have to say Im almost mouth watering 😉 Cheers from Fance
Thanks buddy!
Just woaw - amazing craftmanship!
So clean with the internal cables
Amazing work buddy! 🎉
this bike!! man, best looking Aethos ever!
simply amazing build. i liked the one with the aero rims. Thank you for sharing
I like the look of your build well done. My Ridley helium SLX uses the same D shaped fork design and has a similar cable routing setup as what you created on the Aethos now. Its a pain to route and to insert that extra supportive blok, but once its all set it works just fine... Your bike is using consiberably nicer and lighter parts.
What a build! Beautiful!
This was absolutely amazing to watch!
Nice bike! - I appreciate the discussion about why you chose the various parts. Keep the bike you love riding the most! (more research necessary..on the road!)
Love the job you did. I definitely love the look with the deeper wheels-I'd ride them. But, what I like most about your build is hiding the cables. I really love the look of a clean bike, and I had no idea it could be pulled off on the aethos. You now are making me want to do the same thing! Well done! Oh, and cute kid! That was neat to see!
Thanks!
Easily one of my favorite new bike related TH-cam channels! Thx algorithm for popping you up in my timeline :)
🥳
Just chiming in with everyone else, that is one FINE looking bike! Except for that seat…. Ouch! ;-)
Thanks for mentioning the manufacturers and versions of the items you selected, great go weight weenie googlers such as I :) that fork and bar combo is very nice!!
Perfect build ❤
Top work as always! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks mate 👊🏼
So cool to see you thinking outside of the box and building it up just how you dreamt it, instead of the usual "just buy the lightest components and maybe a respray"
Thanks Georges!
Well thought through bike, beautifully done.
i can't imagine how tight it must have been to route the hoses through the handlebars
Олег! Это невероятно просто! Фантастика!!!
Классные велосипеды. Классные видео.
Акценты на наших производителей 😉.
Очень приятно смотреть.
Спасибо
Спасибо! 😃
Nice build! Keep the one that makes you happier!
Thanks. This is something I will have to find out!
Gorgeous! I only took 3 screen grabs. You are a good TH-camr and great at building/specing bikes! This video is probably going to be very expensive for me because you very thoughtfully gave me a shopping list. 👌👍
Haha enjoy! 😀
I need more videos man! I’m just rewatching all your builds 🥲
Working on the one that is dropping in the next two days!
What a beautiful bike!
that bar tape looks amazing
I’m glad someone noticed that :)
I’ve been keeping it for 4 years waiting for the right bike to put it on! Unfortunately, MFS are no longer producing it :(
Awesome job👍
As a fresh Aethos owner I must say that this the best build I have seen and suites that bike so well. I wish I had seen this video before mine was built. But, hey, even with a standard build, Aethos is awesome.
Awsome build!!
Another awesome build... keep it up 🎉
Great Build !!!
Congrats man!!!!!. Your vídeo is amazing. Great build!!!!!!
Thanks man!
Great build, really good video🚲
I always was turned down by an Aethos exposed cables.. you certainly fixed this. This is the nicest (and lightest Aethos out there)
Thanks!
Simply incredible
All that's now needed is this EXACT build with an S-Works Crux frameset and wider tires for THE lightest conceivable gravel bike imaginable... even with 40+ mm tires!
I know! I’ve already been thinking about it. Deda makes similar forks for gravel too!
Thank Oleg !
I liked the internal route mod. I might try that with mine.
Great video and beautiful bike!!!
that's awesome! great job!
Awesome bike!
Your bike build videos are awesome!
Thanks!
5.5 kg is wicked light!!!. WOW!!!
Beautiful.
the thing i like the most about this build is that for a below 6kg bike it looks astonishing sturdy
A very neat bike! Well done!
Thanks!
Lovely stuff 🤩
awesome build man. 👏
you srsly nailed it. subbed and liked! thanks for this beautiful buildvideo.
Welcome to the channel, mate!
Haha he looks exactly like my boy! Surprised you kept him away from the pump 😮💨😮💨😮💨 bike looks sick too :)
Damn good build man! i always dreamed of an aethos with internal cables.
Nice bike, good build
Bravo!!!Unbelievable!
dream bike build. added!
Awesome well thought out build. Even Rides of Japan would be impressed!
Didn’t know that Rides of Japan was a standard, but thanks 😃
Oh yeah he is for sure
insane bike
My first time following your channel amazing bikes first choice I would take the colnago but both builds are amazing
That‘s amazing 😍
cool build!
Very nice!
The second pair of wheels give the bike some extra 'visual' power, although I'm not fond of ears wheels it looks great! Also because of your excellent choice of colour scheme. I've been only recently following your channel and I'm not a less-weight-nerd but I love what you're doing to the bikes. Keep going!
Thanks Joris. Glad that there are non-less-weight-nerd people subscribed to my channel too 😄
Awesome Bikes! I would choose the lighter one 😎💯
Amazing!!
Yes, ditto to what Rides of Japan said. Brilliant! I don't normal like Specialized but, gotta say that with the deeper section wheels on, I like this Aethos better than your Colnago C64. Also, can you please tell me where to buy a ZTTO 10-36 cassette (and what you paid) cause from here in the USA they seem hard to find. And thanks for introducing Bjorn their stuff looks rad!
Absolutely love this bike! Congratulations. I saw it on GCN first and then had to find your video, although I've been a fan of yours since your Trek Crockett build video
How have you found the 1x 42T with the 10-36 cassette? Thinking of this exact combination for my next road bike for general road riding.
I don't know what I prefer. The bike, or the video.. 😂
Keep this one... 😊
Отличная сборка!
just came across your channel, great video, i have a non s works aethos with rival ....lots of ideas about how to make it lighter - surprised by the lever difference force/red and that wheel build looks great
Non-sworks are great too and just 100-ish grams heavier
admiring your work! Do you think mechanical groupset can be fitted in aethos?
Definitely the aero wheels for me, gorgeous build!
I really love your Aethos, but I would have to go for the Colnago.
most def go with Aethos with non-aero wheels, best looking setup
Amazing build! I'm building a set of wheels using the same rims/hubs, what length spokes did you use for the wheel build?
Inspired ❤
It looks bad ass with the 45 mm!
Impressive!
That internal routing fix! 😅
I’d be curious to see how it rides esp with the new fork. Honestly though you made it look sooooo easy !
Thanks! I’m riding it right now and even though I haven’t tried the original fork, Deda fork feels nice and stiff with precise steering.
So cool! The only thing I'd change is go tubeless, otherwise it's perfect! What was the total price, if it's an ethical question?
Clever thinking, so obvious when you see it. I was contemplating more challenging options like a drilled steerer or external oversized top cup. Still, I think my Aethos looks alright with a couple of hoses up front, so definetly not a direction I'd consider. What I did do, though, was swapping out the parts, bulking the bike from 4.7 to 5.3, in order to increase the comfort, handle the terrain better and enable training.
So far I’m very happy with the current setup - comfort, weight, looks. But will see when I get more miles on this bike
I'll go for the Colnago due to its classic built. And the frame with its stunning lugs are timeless quality.
As for the Aethos, I prefer the shallow rims.
Thanks. Colnago is def different from other bikes on the market - that’s why I bought it in the first place. Tough choice!
IMPRESSIVE
Sublime!
Very nice build - although personally the silver master link would drive me nuts! 😄
Haha couldn’t find the black one. Might use a sharpie! )
Hi... Amazing build congrats. Envious. Curious since you have done the research. Which wheels and hubs were you going to use if 30-40mm deep wheels? Meaning which do you think are the lightest?
Wow, love you work. What kind alloy pads for the Hope RX4+ are you using?
Garboruk - nice!
WTF, Best bulid i see 😄
Awesome build bro! Nick from T3 Bikes Singapore.
Thanks man! Glad to hear that from you 👊🏼
Awesome build! i am looking at building a set of wheels using he light bicycle AR 25 rims for mostly climbing my local mountian which tops out at 9,000 feet
Are they stable descending? Thanks
Amazing build, love that bar tape, blends well the the custom paint job! One of the best custom builds I have ever seen on TH-cam!
Very impressed by this build! You beat me by a few grams 🙈😭. The wheels are impressive, I have to say ✌
