I am absolutely psyched to keep watching this project - very cool. I love gravel bikes and it seems like there are very few highly custom lightweight builds compared to road bikes and others. I’m not convinced about the pink decals, but the size and positioning of the S-Works decal under the downtube is really sweet. Can’t wait for more build videos!
Yea, those definitely belong on a build like this. My Checkpoint is an SL5 so doesn’t really warrant the $200+ weight weenie axles but they would be so perfect for this bike for sure.

This is looking to be a super dope build. I'm hoping we can get a full build video of it, but it's gonna be fantastic either way when you do the final reveal. Routing both brakes hoses through the fork is a solution I haven't seen, but I hope it pans out. All this gives me ideas for if/when I can do a Crux build of my own.
Loved the way you ripped up the warranty! It made me laugh. Without trying to be negative, I’m not feeling the colour, but sure it will be a great build.
Wow, and well done so far! Except the pink, I would have used orange for the logos. Orange logos would be very sharp with your color scheme. Keep up the great work!
Did anyone with expertise in carbon have any input into the modifications on the cable port on the steerer or was it just wrapped in 3K weave and hope for the best?
Doesn't the length of the back brake hose (which is way less longer than if it was routed externally) limit the angle the steerer can rotate? Isn't the same true with the hole which the hose exits the steerer through to the frame?
What paint / top coat did you use? I'm not familiar with the name you mentioned. I hope you protected the raw carbon with something uv resistant though...
looking back on your videos for light weight wheelset choices - so big climbing rides coming up later in the year and would like to go from1400g wheelset to 1000g or so. Without breaking the bank. Any advice on wheel builders? (in London pref)
Great design on the frame! Super interesting Video. But going all for weight but then choosing to runn 4 piston brakes? Thats one part I dont understand. I'll always run 4 piston brakes on my MTB but I am super comfortable on the 2 piston brakes on my roadbike. Can you explain why you opted for the 4 piston Hopes? Cheers!
You’ll be surprised, but in addition to being very powerful, they are actually lighter than any Sram and there is just 5g penalty for both compared to hope X2 (if you are using 160mm rotors, which I do).
Fair enough - I'm also building a Crux - with Shimano DA Di2 12 speed, and just bought the Roval rapid Cockpit for it. I think it would look extremely nice with the integrated cables. Which wheels are you putting on? And again great build, looking forward to see it complete. @@TwistedWheels
I’ve watched this video and the Aethos one multiple times and I still can’t figure out the cable routing from the steerer into the stem. Actually Aethos makes sense because of the D shaped steerer but with this round steerer does top not sit flush with the stem?? Or have you cut the steerer a little short so the cables go over the top of the steerer but under the stem cap and into stem. Or is there another notch cut out at the top of the steerer to let the hoses out into the stem??
@@TwistedWheels definitely watched that section. You mention how the cables will go into the handlebar -> stem -> steer tube from the top. I'm not sure how you; a) close the top cap if cables are going over the top of the steerer b) the cables coming out of the stem get through the steerer I watched it again and a top cutout isn't shown only the bottom one for the rear cable to exit the fork.

hello @TwistedWheels where can I buy the compression plug?
TIA
@@LasangPilipino check the description of the video
Thank you.😊
oh my goodness my jaw dropped seeing that expansion plug. didn't know something like that existed!
How are the brake hoses going to get from the stem to inside the steer tube? Another hole near the top of the steerer or I am missing something?
The compression plug will probably be set a bit lower than the top of the stem so it can down into the steerertube.
You would have to cut the fork lower than the top pinch bolt on the stem which would be super sketchy
I’ll show it in a build video ;)
